Lori Harder and co-host argue that age doesn't slow metabolism. The real blocker is constant snacking that keeps blood sugar elevated, preventing your body from burning fat. They say fasting is the only way to deplete glucose and trigger fat burning.
This is the first time I've ever heard this. So, like, technically, there's no reason why in my 40s and 50s,
you can't be the best shape of your life.
Whoa.
So many women in their 30s and 40s feel like their metabolism is stuck, or that it's just, like, not working overnight. Or maybe there was a big shift in their life
from 20 years old to 60 years old. Your metabolism does not slow down. What is down, regulating metabolism is actually blood sugar. If you are a snacker, you're eating breakfast, lunch, dinner, with two snacks of protein, you're going to have chronically elevated blood sugar all day, which means your body will never have an opportunity to switch from glucose burning to fat burning. The only way to burn fat is literally to deplete glycogen and glucose stores in the body, which really is done through fasting.
