Bloopers and Outtakes — Behind the Scenes

Eros, a junior competitor, credits coach Mark with helping him improve through better nutrition and supplements. He started with protein powder, creatine, and fish oil, then added BCAAs, zinc and magnesium before bed, and beta-alanine, which he says works well with creatine.

Hello, my name is Eros. I just competed in juniors, second comp, come third. First started seeing Mark around a year and a half ago. I competed in juniors last year. And since then he's given me diet, nutrition, supplementation advice as well as personal training and coaching. Specific to supplementation and nutrition, basically a good round diet is probably the most important thing I've learnt. And I've felt the most often, the more, the better my diet's been, training, the more I've gotten out of my supplements. And the harder I've trained, the more I've gotten out of my supplements. So really, the more I've put into those areas, the more I've gotten out of supplements.
What supplements were you taking before working with Mark?
Before working with Mark, I was just taking basic protein powder, isolate protein powder for post-workout, and maybe a sustained protein powder for other times of the day before bed. And creatine and glutamine were probably my, the main 3, or the only 3 supplements supplements I was taking, as well as fish oils and a multivitamin.
Yeah, and what did you start taking after working with, uh, Mark?
Uh, working with Mark, um, we already had kind of— I did some of my own research and he had pretty much had the same opinions with supplements. And yeah, well, I started taking branched-chain amino acids, um, hydrolyzed isolate for post-workout, which is fast-digesting protein. And then I started having stuff like zinc and magnesium before bed. Also, I experimented with tubulus, cycled with tubulus. Also, some pre-workout formulas, beta alanine, which I found really effective as a supplement, as well as scientific research to back it up in combination with creatine. Yeah. Other than that, that's pretty much it. And, uh, yeah, glutamine and, um, protein powders as well. Very good.
You Fantastic, man. Can I see you flex? Killer.
