Start light to warm up your joints, then increase weight on working sets. The right weight lets you hit your target reps, like 10, and no more. Get closer to failure as you go.

Do you struggle to find the perfect weight to start your exercises with? Well, the truth is there is no perfect weight. It is a process. So what you want to do is you want to warm up. There is no harm in starting lighter and doing more sets to warm your body up, but there is certainly harm in starting heavier and trying to do too much too soon without being warmed up. So think of it like starting a very old car. You need to warm up. So generally, as a general recommendation, you want to start lighter, get the joints lubed up and warm, and then move into your working set. When you zoom out and look at it, the first set to the last set, what are the differences? It's the speed at which you move the exercise with, or the bar or the dumbbell with, and it's how close you come to failure. Obviously on your first couple of sets, you're not going to be anywhere near failure. As you move into your workout, you're going to get closer and closer to failure using a heavier load. Now that's what the perfect weight is. So if the goal is 10 reps, you want to get 10 reps, not 11. If you've enjoyed this tip, make sure you follow our page for more.
