Mark Ottobre shows how to do a glute clam for leg day. Rotate your pelvis down, not toward the wall. Stack your ankles, grip the floor lightly, and drive your top knee up hard. Do 20 to 25 reps per side.

This is a glute clam, an activation for your glutes and before you do a big leg day. So the first thing you wanna do, a lot of people do their clams like that, and that's okay, but it's not gold standard. What we wanna do, as you can see here, is I'm almost like slightly rotated towards the floor. So my pelvis is pointing towards the floor, it's not pointing towards the wall. So you can see here, I'm at the floor. I like to put my ankle on top of my ankle. Then when I'm doing this, I like to grip the floor a little bit as well. Then I'm coming out as hard and as aggressively as I can, just from the glute. Another thing you can do is you can put your hand on your glute to try and feel the engagement as well. If you're not feeling it, you can hold it for like 3, 4 seconds and then back down. 3, 4 seconds, back down. 20 to 25 reps. Once you've done all 20, 25 reps, switch legs. This is your glute clam on the floor.
