Hi, it's Maximus Mark, and today I'm talking about coffee. Now, some people, you know, say coffee is really, really bad. Well, actually, in some studies they've actually shown that coffee drinkers live up to 5 times longer than non-coffee drinkers. Why? Well, for most people who have a really poor diet, it's actually one of the only sources of antioxidants they get for the day. Now, the only caveat I'm going to tell you with coffee is if you are going to drink coffee, make sure it's organic. Why? Because coffee is one of the most heavily sprayed products in the world. So you definitely want to buy organic. And the other thing is, don't buy decaffeinated coffee and don't use decaffeinated coffee. A lot of people have fallen into that trap thinking that decaffeinated coffee is a lot healthier for them when actually it's not, because companies do use a lot of chemicals to strip the coffee bean of the caffeine, which is left with basically, you know, those chemicals which are toxic to your body and then you're ingesting. So definitely you want to buy organic coffee that hasn't been sprayed with pesticides. Again, this is one of the biggest sprayed crops in the world. The other thing, the other insidious thing about coffee is you definitely don't want to add any sugar to your coffee. If you're going to have it, my recommendation is have long blacks or short blacks, or as the Italians will say, il macchiato. So, definitely no sugar, no milk, long black or short black. The other thing I will say with coffee, a bit of common sense will go a long way. I definitely believe there's no need to have— some people have 8 cups of coffee a day. I think that's way too much. You're going to do a lot of damage that way. You've got to remember caffeine is a stimulant, and it's probably about 700 milligrams of caffeine you're having right there. 1 to maybe 3 cups a day. For some people, 1 cup a day is more than enough. It's plenty. If you're going to have caffeine, I would always say have it before you're going to do something like go train or be active. Till next time, guys, enjoy your coffee. I love my coffee in my Homer Simpson mug. Yes, I'm a big fan of The Simpsons. But till next time, train hard, eat well, and supplement smart.
