So often in seminars, what I show folks is we interlock hands, right? And I say to the folks, right, Jason, I just want you to resist me. And what I'm going to do is I'm going to use my arm, I'm just going to use my shoulder. It's going to be in this position, right? So resist me, Jason, resist me. And he's winning, right? He's winning. This is, this is the lat pulldown that most people do, and I, I can't move him. If I get up nice and proud, nice and tall, we use the same force, Jason, and I use the lat pulldown, you can see that I'm using— now I'm moving him because all I'm doing is I'm depressing, retracting, and extending through that thoracic. And you can see I'm shifting his body weight. Now if I add 2 joints, if I add my scap, thoracic, and I also now bend through my elbow, you can see this is how I want to be rowing. Joints move muscles, muscles don't move joints, right? So think about your joints first, the articulation of your back, getting everything in, and then doing the exercise.
