How to do a leg extension. First things is we want to look at the machine of how we are going to set this up. So we always want to consider lever points and have the bar, so to speak, as far away from the shin as possible. We put this too high, it's going to alter the strength curve. So we do want this somewhat furthest away. Point your toes up. There you go. When we're considering the backrest or where to put the back, sit up as nice and tall as you can. I'm going to pull this all the way back. I'm going to get the client to shuffle their hips back as far as possible, like so, and then nice posture up. Now I'm going to set the backrest. Leaning back for us. Perfect. So you can see in that position immediately there is space created between the weight stack and the weight. So knees nice and neutral. Extend. Perfect. Some cues that I like on the leg extension for clients is to push the back of your knees into the bench as hard as you can. That's a beautiful looking leg extension.
