Manifesting Beyond Your Limiting Beliefs with Matt Cooke

Matt Cooke left a 10-year real estate career after a mystical experience in 2019 where he felt contact with his deceased mother. He teaches manifestation through quantum mechanics: observation shapes reality, intention modifies probability, and practices like visualization and gratitude writing collapse possibilities into actual outcomes.

Hi, I'm Dr. Amy Robbins and welcome to Life, Death and the Space Between. Six years ago, Matt Cook was literally an unknown name in the spirituality space. And now he is one of the most renowned manifestation coaches and thought leaders, inspiring a global audience with his modern approach to manifestation and spirituality. I've had a lot of people on this show over the years talk about manifesting and really from a quantum physics perspective and from a practical perspective. And I think Matt does an incredible job of integrating both of those pieces. The other thing about Matt is he embodies what he's teaching. And that to me is the sign of a true master of their craft, is when they can step in and really live and practice what they preach. Matt walks his talk and you'll see throughout this interview and you'll see through his new book, beyond the Art of True Manifestation, which comes out tomorrow. So it's super exciting to be able. Usually I record someone and then it's a while before their book comes out. But I literally recorded this conversation with Matt on Friday and you are hearing it on Monday. So I'm so excited for you all to hear this enlightening conversation again, triggered by a spiritual awakening, which I'm loving. All these people now that are coming talking about their spiritual awakenings and how they opened up to spirituality. So with that, I bring you today's episode with Matt Cook. I know you're going to get so much out of it and you're going to want to go buy his book and you're going to want to manifest with him because he's amazing and he does it himself. So with that, I bring you today's episode of Life, Death and the Space Between.
We need at our table of awareness, the logician, but equally we need the intuitive. We need the mystic. I almost died. I was allowed to go to the very precipice of death, of life and death, and look over the edge. And I was allowed to behold what was there and allowed to come back. Most people aren't.
When we talk about being aligned with ourself or being aligned with our soul or hearing our higher self, that's really what we're talking about, is being connected to that divine part of ourself, that light filled part of us that is connected to God, energy, that is connected to everybody here and every experience we've ever had. If more doctors, more professionals can open up to use intuitive gifts in their.
Work, that's really important. Hi, I'm Dr. Amy Robbins and welcome to Life, Death and the Space Between. I'm A licensed clinical psychologist and medium. And here we explore life, death, mediumship, near death experiences, consciousness, and what it all means. Welcome, Matt, to Life, Death and the Space Between.
Thank you for having me, Amy. I'm excited to chat.
So this is a big day because tomorrow is your book launch. The Art of Manifesting.
Yes.
Beyond Wanting. Beyond wanting. The Art of True Manifestation. And your life is a perfect example of everything you talk about in the book. So. Which will probably take us three hours to cover, but highlight real. How were you able in a really short time to manifest everything that has happened to you in the past? What was it, five, six years? About.
Yeah, not even really that yet. About. About. About five and a half years, if that.
So what did your life look like before? And then take us to sort of, where are we now? And then we'll get into the nitty gritty of how you made this happen.
Sure. So as people were reading the book, I was in real estate for 10 years. You know, sort of did. Sold really nice luxury property here in the uk, really nice country houses, typical suit and tie, corporate professional, very skeptical about anything other than sort of the material world. And that's what I thought I'd do for the rest of my life. I was a young manager. I was the youngest in my company by about 10 years. So on paper, I was successful for my age. And in 2019, February 2019, as people will read, I had a very, very strange, mystical experience one evening which flipped my worldview upside down.
Can you tell us about it? We love. We love crazy, mystical experiences here.
So lying in bed with my wife one evening, February 2019, around 10pm, we were watching Netflix. And as I rolled over to go to sleep, my wife carried on watching the show. And you know when you're in that phase where you're still awake, you can hear the world around you still you try to get to sleep. And out of nowhere, a sensation spread over my body, starting from the base of my feet until it encompassed my whole body. And it was a vibration that intensified and intensified and intensified. And it wasn't painful. So I allowed it to continue because I was really intrigued. And then it got so intense, it genuinely felt like I was hovering above the bed. It was so strange. And then I heard a very high pitch ring out of nowhere in both ears, like really loud, as well as this sort of vibration that was going on. And then it went silent and I heard a voice. And the voice sounded like it was at the opposite end of like a sports hall initially. And it got Closer and closer. And the voice said, hi, Matt, it's Mom. Can you hear me? And my mom passed away 18 months before that, in July 2017. And I exchanged a few words with my mom, and my wife was still awake. And she nudged me. She said, matt, who are you talking to? And I turned to my wife to tell her, and then turned back and my mom had gone. So how do you do with that? I'm. One moment, I'm in the corporate world, you know, of course, like, don't get me wrong, I definitely question. In that period of time, it'd be nice to know there was an afterlife. My mom was 51 when she passed away, you know, so. And then in that moment, I just. I just remember thinking, my life's changed forever. Because I realized in that moment, I couldn't really continue. I was already trying to seek a way out of the corporate world. I should just add that, you know, I was already. I'd already realized I wasn't fulfilled. And I was trying to seek some form of freedom. And after that connection with my mom, I spent a good couple of weeks initially trying to reconnect. That was like the initial want. As people hear us talking, my message is sort of we have to move out of a state of want. And every night for two weeks, I try and set up the same conditions. Tonight I'm going to connect again. And tonight I'm going to ask these questions. And nothing happened. No connection again. Until I realized, sort of, interestingly, I didn't try for that to happen the first time. It just sort of happened. So I then started to do my own research. Type of brain I am, Amy, I'm very analytical. You know, I love, like, breaking things down, like. Like a bit of an engineer. And I needed to understand how I connected with my mom and. And where. Where she was ultimately, you know. And I quickly discovered everything that I'd obviously clearly forgotten in school, which is that everything is energy. You know, it's an illusion that we think everything is physical. If we drill down into physical reality, everything can be broken down to its purest form, to the atomic level, everything, which is interesting. And then, of course, if you break down the atomic structure further, you arrive at the subatomic level, and then below that, things get very interesting at the quantum level. I sort of got to this realization, Amy, where I was like, okay, if everything can. Everything can be drilled down to this subatomic level, where does it go beyond that? And then that's where I fell in love with energy. And I'll Talk you through how I got into manifestation. I then realized that this physical world, these sort of electrons that pop in and out of existence, will they appear from this infinite field of information and energy. Quantum fields, unifying fields of energy. And I realized in that moment, of course, we're only seeing less than 0.0001% of reality. Over 99.9% of energy is invisible fields of energy and information. And we can go deeper if you like. But that's essentially where I started to look. Remember, initially I was just trying to learn to connect with my mu. When I'm. When I'm down there on that level, that's when I'm starting to hear this sort of phrase, manifestation, the law of attraction. And that like attracts like.
And what do you think it was about? Because I, my listeners know this, but I also had a spontaneous, spiritually transformative experience which was what sent me on my path. What do you think? Or how have you come to understand what happened in that moment, at that, at that particular point in time? Or is it just, you know, it's actually interesting, magical experience?
I thought it was for years actually. And actually since writing my book, I sort of pieced it together because, you know, you got. You can, as you know, you continue going deeper and deeper and deeper and deeper. Six months before that connection with my mum, I was under a lot of corporate stress and struggling to breathe. And my wife's grandmother recommended I went and had some reflexology, sort of. I was happy to go with anything that would help. And as I had this session with this therapist, he didn't know me, I didn't know him. As I'm laying there on the couch, he asks me a question. And he said, so, Matt, tell me who you are. And I said, I'm 26 years old and I work in real estate. He said, no, no, no. I didn't ask what you did for a living. I asked who you are. And Amy, I genuinely didn't know how to answer the question. I didn't know who I was. I knew who the shell was. And in that moment I realized that I'd been identifying as this sort of corporate real estate guy. But I wanted to understand who this awareness was, who the I was. And to answer your question, for those six months, I did some proper soul searching. I was trying to figure out what the I wanted in all of this was watching motivational videos and. And then that led up or to this connection. Now, the reason I know that was the case, I've spoken to many mediums since they said to me, matt, you know why we're called mediums? Because we help people connect on the middle. And I think what I've been doing over these six months is raising my vibration, my frequency. And, you know, my mum was able to lower hers. It was the perfect breeding ground, if you like. You know, I've got two younger brothers, two older brothers, and, you know, there hasn't been a connection like that, but I'm massively spiritual in comparison to them. You know, they're in just nine to five jobs, you know, not aware of this world really. So that, that was the trigger, Absolutely no doubt about it, because it's all, it's all to do with frequency. So that, that's for sure how it happens.
So you were changing your vibrational frequency by exploring more the depths of what your soul really wanted. And in doing that, that opened the door as an invitation, correct?
Yeah, it was the. Absolutely. You know, it was, it was the perfect opportunity for my mom to connect those for her. It was, there was, it was more of a probability that she could connect with me over, let's say, my other brothers. Because of the work I'd been doing. I was, I was on a clearer frequency. I mean, it's really straightforward. It's, you know, if we, if we seek to connect to a radio station which is a frequency of information, you know, we know that we have to become the channel first. We have to decide we want to listen to 97.9 FM. Okay, well, we need to be 97.9 FM first to receive the information. And I think that's what I was doing, unconsciously shifting to a station where it was easier. Easier for my mum, you know, to connect, which is manifestation. So.
So yeah, I want to go there, but before we do, because my listeners love these experiences. Did she. It sounds like there wasn't. Was there a message or she was just like, do I have you? Do I have your attention? It was more that.
Yeah, absolutely. I've come to understand it now. It's all she needed to do. It was, it was the wake up call, it was the message to wake me up. Clearly, whether we agreed soul contracts before our incarnations that this would happen and, you know, I would change direction and be a voice in this field. And she was that initial trigger. I believe it because I haven't actually. Amy, I've connected with her many times since in different mediums through dreams and whatever, but I haven't had another conversation like that with her. And I don't really. Of course it would be nice, but it's not really been necessary because it's all that was needed. I think she knows that too.
So this happens and you go on this quest to connect with her further.
Yeah.
What happens on this journey and how does it shift from you wanting to connect with her to how can I, in five years have a massive following and a book and be speaking around the world? And, and, and I mean, it's really. It's amazing.
Yeah.
And apparently really simple.
It's so simple, so easy. Yeah, it really is. Everyone over complicates it. So look, connected with my mom, it was lovely. You know, it confirmed to me that she's still here. Great. I could sort of carry on feeling quite happy about that. I didn't feel like I needed to connect with her every day and go, what are you doing now? I know she's around. So as I'm exploring this world and hear about the concept of, you know, the law of attraction, Amy, I didn't really buy it initially, if I was honest. You know, the whole idea that your thoughts can create your reality. You know, you think positive thoughts and you attract things or, you know, you think about money and money comes. I just didn't buy it. I understood the concepts, but I didn't buy it. And I, again, the sort of brain I am, I continued to explore deeper, started studying quantum mechanics and, you know, looked at what sort of like Einstein and Heisenberg and Bohr were saying at the end of their lives that, you know, they were sort of saying that consciousness is fundamental. Really, you know, but there's no way of like mathematically equating it so that it sort of, you know, they couldn't. And when I started studying quantum mechanics.
What does that mean? Consciousness is fundamental. What does that mean to you?
It means that, you know, in this material world that the particle is fundamental, but it, you know, like if we break down the physical world to atoms and the subatomic level, these electrons, that's where sort of traditional science is, that sort of the material world starts there. But actually, what. What turns something from energy and information? So this if, to answer this question, if we drill down into physical reality, we get to these subatomic particles and then we go one step below, we arrive at this infinite field of energy. Now, that field, you're going to hear different phrases. You're going to hear the quantum field, the unified field, the universe, God, source, a larger consciousness system, the matrix, consciousness. Right. Whatever word label we want to give it, let's just call it the universe. To keep things simple. So the universe is just this infinite field of energy and information. Great. Well, what turns it from energy to matter? What is it that turns it. And there's many experiments in quantum mechanics. It's one word and it's the most powerful word in the universe. And the word is called observation.
I was going to say attention, but.
Yeah, yeah, Observation on a quantum level.
Well, and that's the whole theory of the wave particle, right.
Collapses the wave. Right, yeah, called collapse of the wave function. And you know, so, so physical reality is derived and created through either a conscious measurement, a conscious observer. And for me it was like this is so simple, it's so obvious because if, if, if we're, if we're not aware of that. And I always say manifestation isn't a genie in a bottle. We're always in a state of manifestation at all times. But where's your observation? Most people's observation unconsciously is wrapped into their program. You know, their default mode network, their belief system that, you know, success doesn't happen to people like me. I'll be alone forever. Money's hard, you know, and that, that, that observation is wrapped within that paradigm. And what they don't realize they're doing is thinking those thoughts feeling equal to it and sending out an intention, you know, an observation. And, and that's why people see sort of the same patterns in their life. Now the work I do is I teach people that, that the observer is separate from the program. You know, it's called meta cognition, as I'm sure you know the whole term, to think about what you're thinking about. But if we're not practicing the being the witness and the watcher and the awareness that observation actually entangles within a program. So the key, I always say, as people will read in the book, the first stage of manifestation, of course people know what they want, but is to actually practice self observation. Actually first become the scientist, your own brain and look at what you're observing, like what's actually going on in there. Because that is, that is actually your prominent observation of reality, which is what manifests.
Okay, so can you break that down and, and give an example?
Yeah, so I love this scene in Lord of the Rings. And it's a scene where Gandalf is on this bridge and there's this big monster that's running across the bridge. And Gandalf stands on the bridge and he shouts, you shall not pass. And this big monster in my sort of model represents all these demons that we have in our head, our Belief system, what we think about ourselves based on our experience. And if we don't practice being a little bit like Gandalf, then what happens is that monster just keeps running over our bridge, which is our brainstem, and. And then goes down into the body, and we. We. We feel equal to how we think. So, you know, all people need to do is just say to themselves, what is the. What are the most repeating, recurring thoughts that I think about myself day to day that are. That are negative and. And really step away and, like, practice that and look at it. And once you start to catch it and understand it, you can then practice this separation in this awareness. So you can then become a little bit like a gatekeeper where you can. You can begin to watch those thoughts, you can begin to understand consciously what triggers those thoughts. And as you practice that awareness and that observation, we can start to reframe those thoughts, which is powerful because we're always in a state of manifestation. But also what we can do as the observer is we can take what we're seeking to manifest, and we can visualize it in our head, in meditation, as if it's already done as well.
So that's sort of the difference between cognitive behavioral therapy and taking it to the next level of manifesting.
Yeah.
Is rather than just observing your thoughts and challenging those thoughts, which is part of cbt, you are visualizing a different outcome for yourself and paving kind of that pathway.
Yeah, I think it's a bit of both. Exactly. You know, and I can give tangible. To help people. I can give tangible examples of how this happens. So, you know, this year for me, I've started speaking around the world, as you mentioned, and the years before that, I was very comfortable coaching in my office and doing content on social media and doing podcasts. And I was very aware, all of a sudden, of this, like, limiting belief, this thought that no one will actually attend my events. And it seemed silly, right? It was like I had this fear around, like, launching an event because I'd be like, I'll be let down. And so. So what's really good there is I use my intellect to intellectually figure out if it's true. And I look and I go, well, Matt, it makes no sense with the, you know, nearly a million followers on all platforms. Do you really think no one will come? No, I don't. That's just a load of rubbish. No. Okay, but where does it actually. Let's resonate with it, though. Where. Where does it come from, though? So I thought about it, and I sat with It. And I thought it's interesting because actually I've been really let down by family at personal event, whether it's weddings, christenings, you name it, always let down by your nearest and dearest. And it hurts. So of course what happens is the repetition of that happens builds a paradigm. And then of course, when I start planning events, well, it's just trying to protect me from what it thinks will let me down. So then now the awareness was able to break down that and understand it. And all I did in that case was understand what the default limiting belief was and reframed it with a positive affirmation that I just kept repeating every single day in every way for a good couple of months until eventually it started to fade. And I kept taking action and doing events and would sell out events and people would say, but, you know, and I'd share this at an event and people would be like, oh, I flew in to see you. And, and the evidence of that then helped me reframe it, you know, and, and that's sort of how it works.
So what was the initial reframe?
Every day, in every way, beautiful souls from around the world seek tickets to see me speak.
So it was, it was really a visualization of what was going to happen or what was. Yeah, what you want it to happen?
Yeah. Right. So this, when, when I say visualization, you can write something and visualize it, or you can, you know, do a meditation and rehearse a scene for something you seek as well. So with my manifestation practice, as we'll talk about, I'm doing several things. I'm reframing limiting beliefs. I'm as I've just shared with you, but I'm also taking what I'm seeking to manifest and also rehearsing it mentally too. So there's, there's, there's a, there's a. And that's the thing, right? If, if we only focus on what we seek, if we only visualize it, but we don't try and tackle our limiting beliefs, you know, they're, they're well trodden. I think the latest science tells us that 95 of who, who we are is subconsciously programmed, you know, so we can have all the conscious desire and intent to seek something. But I think at the same time, we have to really try and change the storehouse of the subconscious, the, you know, the deeper program. And it's uncomfortable. But neuroplasticity tells us that at any age we can rewire our brain. So.
So for those people who think, why do these things keep happening to me over and over and over again? And I, I, I'm thinking to myself, I want to manifest that relationship that is loving and caring, and we are traveling the world and coming home to our loving family of children. And I keep trying, I keep trying, but it's not happening for me. And I don't think I have any limiting beliefs around it. I've explored that. So where's sort of the answer is that there are unconscious, limiting beliefs that we are still unaware of.
I think, here's the thing, right? The universe always says yes. There can be no other way. So, know, if we say, I want more money, it will say yes, and we'll continue to manifest more wanting of money. If we want this perfect relationship, the universe will say yes. It will continue to experience more wanting of that relationship. You know, that's the sort of core message of my book. I'll go deeper here. You know, it's as simple as if we look into a mirror, a physical mirror, and we have a sad face and we say, you know, I'd love to see a smile. I'd love to see a happy face. I'd love to be in that happy relationship. Do we honestly think that mirror will smile first? No. It will change when we change. And this is not. People don't want to hear this, Amy.
Oh, I know.
The truth is, if we smile in that mirror, the mirror will begin to reflect the smile. You know, there's so much science now that tells us that, you know, the physical world that we're seeing is a bit of an illusion, really. You know, it's, it's, it's information that our five senses are taking in and perceiving something, and we have to start treating it like a mirror. So the paradox is that the moment someone, and I'm not saying you've got to stand in the mirror and say, I love myself. I love myself. I love myself.
That helps, too, I think.
It does help. It does help, for sure. But it is actually saying to yourself, let's take the example of that relationship. Someone saying, okay, well, actually, maybe I'm actually attracted to a future version of myself in that relationship. Not the husband, not the kids. I'm attracted to the version of me then. So then what's the separation between you now and her or him, right? Where's the gap? And how can I start being like him or her now without the relationship? Now, that's hard to hear, right? But the truth is, that's sort of how it works now. I always say to people, how I've gotten to where I've got and I've got, I have got here quickly. And that's because I. My motto is to keep it simple. But secondly, I always reverse engineer down my manifestations into sequential steps. And the reason I do that is because if you look at the best scientists who are using intention as experiments, like Dean radin or Lynn McTaggart, I could go on. You know, these intention experiments that they're doing, they're manifesting change. Now these intention experiments are actually affecting like random event generating machines in the moment. You know, they're not really thinking, oh, well, let's do this now and let's visualize for two years ahead or whatever, you know, so it sort of makes sense to me to get clear on a vision for like a year out and then keep reverse engineering it down and down and down and down and.
Down in terms of how you're going to get there.
Yeah, like. Yeah, exactly. So, like seeing them, like if someone takes now what they seek to manifest as like a vision, as like at the top of the ladder, say to yourself, okay, well, there's rungs on that ladder. If I could break down this manifestation maybe into five steps, what do I think it could look like? You know, we're not trying to control it. We're still allowing the universe to manifest the steps. But what do I think that process would be? So, for example, in a relationship, someone might be visualizing being married with kids. You know, as we know, there's a process involved there. So I often say to myself and my clients, what do you think would be the next step from where you are to the next step? What would that look like? And someone might say, well, meeting someone, you know, okay, great. Could that be reversed anymore? Could, could, could you start just for the next couple of weeks just observing yourself, get clear on this version of you, and then say, what. What are the gaps actually? Am I thinking like this version of me? Am I really trying to be like her and. Or him? And that's sort of the, the work. Ugly work in a way. But how I've helped people manifest love, and I've helped a lot of people is they all get to a point where in the end they sort of, they stay full, so in love and excited for sort of like almost what's happening now. Because this is the paradox with love. The moment you really fall in love with now, so so many other wonderful things start happening as well. So I've worked with so many clients who've actually said to me and they were desperate. Oh yeah, I'm not really, I'm not really. I'm not really thinking about him or her at the moment. I just know it's going to happen. And the moment they say that, I just know they're going to message me within like a few weeks or a few months and say, yeah, you're not going to believe it, you know. And it just happens every time because it's sort of. It's law. There's no other way to like, it's law. It's not a genie in a bottle.

And this community of therapists that is coming into the space is such a beautiful mindful community that if you are a therapist you are going to want to Be a part of. Also I have a retreat coming up in March that is wonder and awe. It is all about finding your way back to your essence. Frankly, this curiosity and this wonder that we all had when we were young, that slow slowly falls away from us. We are going to find our way back there. All of this information is contained on my website. You can find it there@dramyrobbins.com but I really would love to see you, to work with you and to connect with you. So please check it out.
Yeah, I mean I see it in my practice. Like as you're talking I'm thinking about all the people that I guess have manifested these lives for themselves. I mean that's, that's what we've been working on is sure this is where you are and this is where you want your, this is what you want your life to look like. And they've gotten there and it's really through. I mean I always tell particularly it seems to be women in my practice who have come to me and they want it, they want the things that I just said and I never focus on that. I always focus on them and what they're doing to be that best version of themselves. And every single one of them has attracted a wonderful partner. That's been a great fit for them.
Yeah, it always happens. It does always happen. There was should be a manifestation coach.
I don't have a formula for it, a conscious formula for it, I guess.
Well, talking about the formula, I, you know, I had some deeper questions that sort of, you know, I just sort of studied quantum mechanics and there was one name kept, kept coming up and everyone should check this guy out. His name's Thomas Campbell or Tom Campbell.
And I've heard him speak.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I had the pleasure of speaking with him in Switzerland last weekend and spent three days with him and he, he's the world's leading expert on the simulation hypothesis, the information theory. And he, he was like a top scientist in the 80s for NASA. Like he was solving all. He's a physicist, he was solving all the hard problems. But at the same time he founded the Monroe Institute with Bob Monroe.
Oh, I love their, their meditations, right?
Yeah.
Is that the meditation?
The hemisphere hemi sync? Yeah. So this is really interesting for everyone to hear actually. So, so in the 1960s, Robert Monroe was an engineer. Started having these very spontaneous out of body experiences where he'd be lying in bed with his wife and the next thing he's on the ceiling, you know, and he spent, spent years enjoying that.
You know, going around be a fun game to play.
Yeah, exploring like the out of body state, exploring what happens when we die and you know, and wrote a book called Journeys out of the Body. And he got to a point where it was like, I've had fun and games, but I now need to scientifically sort of demystify what's going on. And he, he in a, in a nutshell, sought two volunteers to help him. And, and one of those volunteers happened to be Tom Campbell, who was 26 at the time and he was a physicist. And you know, through the 70s, Tom was spending over half his waking day in the out of body state. And being a physicist, the, him and Bob created a model of reality and what, what was going on, you know, and every time they'd eject themselves into that non physical realm, you know, they, they sort of do scientific experiments and whatever else, they formed a technique to get out of body very quickly. And you know, 65 years later, Tom's now, his work's now sort of exploding. You know, he's on the Joe Rogan podcast and all these big podcasts. And I said to Tom, I was talking to him about manifestation. And he said, yeah, it's absolutely real, like, and I can explain how it works. He said, so Tom explains the universe or the quantum field is what's called a larger consciousness system. And so we are what he calls, we're individuated units of consciousness. Individuated units of consciousness. So, you know, when you always hear the term we are one, you know, we're one, you know, you could say the larger consciousness system is God in a sense, you know, whatever you want to call it, it's just consciousness, just energy. And it created a rule set Earth with, with, with, with souls in an avatar body. And we've, I'm sure your listeners know, we, you know, we, we've forgotten. It's called amnesia. We forget our past lives, we forget what happens on the other side. And that's the whole point. So as individuated units of consciousness, we've forgotten that we're part of a greater consciousness. Now whenever there's rules like gravity, time, you know, a rule set naturally is a, what you could describe a virtual reality, you know, however, however you want to look at it now, you know, we could go off on a whole of the conversation about whether we're living in a simulation. We don't need to go there for now. We just need to understand that we live within a rule set. Now what that means is it's a probabilistic rule set. And here's what really helped me. And I actually manifested meeting Tom, and I didn't realize he was going to be at this event, let alone speak on the same stage as me an hour before, but I said I. What I couldn't wrap my head around, Amy, is there's a lot of teachers out there who say anything's possible with manifestation. The problem is, though, I can't sit here and tell you that I've manifested winning the lottery. Right?
Well, I guess it depends how you define winning the lottery.
Well, well, let's actually, for the, for the case, let's actually say like the jackpot, buying a ticket, trying to.
Okay.
And, and, and it was sort of like this paradox for me because it's like if this unified field's infinite and there's an infinite amount of information and energy, why can't I, you know, and it's very simple, actually. And it's down to. It's down to odds. That's what it is. So, so I want us to imagine for a moment just, just as an example, I'm going to give you two examples of what's hard and what's easy. Say, Amy, you decide to play the lottery here in the UK, and it's on a Saturday, and 35 million other people that play and buy, let's just say one ticket, you've got a 35 million to one odds of winning. Let's just say it's £5 million for easy maths. Well, actually, Amy, though, you're quite good at this because you know this work, right? So what you could actually do, and Dean Radin proves this, is you could modify and you could reduce the odds drastically down into your favor. You could probably bring them down maybe to maybe to 300,000 to 1, maybe even 100,000 to 1. But within those 35 million players, we've got a good percentage of people that have always believed, deep down, one day they'd win the lottery. You've also got people in there who are broke and desperate and are just playing because they got no other choice. And you've got people that are just playing for random. Now, when people do win the lottery, it's interesting because you do hear those people sometimes say, you know, I always knew I'd win, you know, Ah, but what about the millions of people that are still saying that who haven't won? So you're up against people within that mix who are also unconsciously actually reducing odds because deep down they've always known that one day they'll win the lottery, but you'll never reduce it really down to one to one, because you'd sort of break the rule set. But you can massively reduce the odds in your favor, and you could, you could win, but you're playing against other people. Now in terms of, let's say, healing, Tom Campbell says healing is one of the easiest things to manifest. And if you look at Joe Dispenza, Dr. Joe, thousands and thousands of people are now healing from his work. Now, Tom says when someone's got an illness, apart from, like, their loved ones being an influence in the medical. Medical professionals, they're not actually playing against anyone else. It's just one to one. Right. And so the uncertainty around that is huge. And what that means is so many different ways that person could heal. They. They could. They could take months for them to heal. They could heal within one meditation. They could live with the disease or illness for years, or they could unfortunately die very quickly. What's going to modify, though, that. That the outcome is that individual's intention. And that's why we see the placebo working so well. Someone gets given a sugar pill thinking it's a miracle drug. And of course they heal almost instantly. It's bizarre. But they're not playing against 35 million other people.
Right?
Right. So Tom said to me, it's a, It's a. It's a. It's a probabilistic universe. And what we're doing with intention is where we're reducing the odds of it happening in our favor. And I think that that just makes. That made a lot of sense to me, you know, he said, you know, you. Every now and again, it happens, he said, but you're probably not going to just manifest a gold bar out of thin air, you know?
Right, Right.
But you do hear these crazy stories of wild happening.
And people say, just like found $100 laying next to me, or they stepped out of the car and there was money.
Absolutely. You know, and those things do happen because the odds are that they do to some people. But, you know, some really, really crazy things happen to some people. That really do sound like far, you know, far too out there. And when Tom's. When I spoke to Tom about that, he just said, every now and again, the larger consciousness system does things like that to wake people up, because the waking up of those people. You shared your story, I shared mine. Without those two things, maybe you and I wouldn't be here right now having this chat. Probably not. There's no way there's no way. So, you know, the system does that, the large consciousness system, to wake people up, to help them evolve towards. Well, there's one word and, and it's love, you know, because love lowers entropy, which creates order and structure and helps the universe continue to thrive. So it's. Yeah, just fascinating. But it, the one key word is intention. Intention modifier, the probability of things happening.
And when you're working solely with yourself, the probability increases because you're not. There's not other forces that are also competing for that energy, would you say?
Correct. Yeah.
Okay.
And, and doesn't that make like obvious sense? Actually? It's like if you and I. Okay, Amy, let's just say you and I, I know you're real, I'm real. We're both going after, let's just say one agent I'm just going to use as an example right now, and the agents decided that I'm only taking on one person and they've, they've signed, sealed it and that's it. It's a fact. Well, now you and I have a 50, 50 chance and you know, we can, we can both play that game, but I might be slightly better than you maybe, you know, and that's all it is. It's like intention modifies it and might steer the odds slightly in my, my direction, might steer it 60, 40. But we start throwing two other people in that and then our odds are drastically changed, haven't they? You know, so what, so what is.
Happening in that, in that moment where you are throwing the odds more in your favor? What is happening to the happening in the universal energy field that is shifting to allow that person to choose you versus me.
So yeah, it seems like an easy question.
It.
Well, those are exactly the questions that I ask and try and explore. The universe is taking like a random draw at all times from, from, from this probably probable distribution field, if you can try and imagine it.
So, so when we're talking about the universe is taking.
Yeah, it's like taking a random draw from, from, from the probability distribution of the possibility, if that makes sense. So it's like everything's there and everything could possibly happen, but it's, it's, it's being a random draw is happening through like the weight of probability, if that makes sense. Right.
Okay. So, so everything is all, there's all these infinite possibilities.
Right.
From those infinite possibilities, the universe is like we're going to choose this taking.
A random draw exactly from the probability of the, the possibility. And the probability is like the, the Most weighted probability, you know, so it's. So. So let's just take, for example, like a leaf that's on my lawn. And, you know, there's an infinite amount of possibilities that that leaf could sort of move and shake and turn around. But if it is, like, rendered sequentially, then if the. If the wind's blowing in the east, then the probable poss is that it just. The leaf just follows the trajectory of the wind. Right. So. So. So in a sense, then, what intention does, which is a thought and a feeling, like thinking about something as if it's already done and really charging that with emotion. And everyone should research the Heart Math Institute because they've shown how powerful that is, that that intention and that signal, in a sense, sort of begins to send an sender, sends like, a signal to that probability and like, nudges it in your favor, if that makes sense. And that's what it does. Like, intention modifies the probability of things happening.
It's so hard to conceptually really understand because in some ways it feels magical. And yet, I know in many ways it's very mathological. Mathological, a new word. Mathematical. Right, Right.
But it really is magical, though, as well, because when you actually stay, like, here's the thing, when we're so focused on one thing, it's so much easier if you just stay open to the possibility and the magic of being blown away. There is so much that is just like that person healing. There's so much more room in that, you know, in being open and holding intention around. The possibility of being blown away by the universe is it steers those probabilities in your favor, you know, whereas if you just go, this is the only path.
Right.
Yeah. And that's your intent. You're sort of like, you're not steering the magic of every other possibility your way. And then actually what happens when it doesn't manifest is you get really frustrated and like, oh, you know. And then the frustration is also intention. Right. So you could then unconsciously begin to shift probabilities that are more aligned with frustration as well. So that's why it's so much easier to just sort of be. Have a. Have an idea of where you're going, but be. Be open to allowing.
Get there, perhaps.
Yeah. And also worth noting too, that if you continue to hold the intention of, you know, magic and awe and being blown away, those subtle nudges and those subtle shifts over a period of time, like we've spoken about how in five years I've got to where I am, it's because I'm constantly doing it. You know, it's like there's the. I don't know what the. I'm not gonna try and say it now because I don't want to mess it up. But there's like this great sort of equation of like, if you just show up, like 1% better than the day before, like, how much like that. That changes the trajectory of your life just by that little 1%. And it's the sort of same thing. It's just every day just sort of nudging the probability in your. Over a period of a few years. It's just like, how have you done that?
But, well, and that's. That's. I think with manifesting, where a lot of people get hamstrung is they think I'm just gonna put it out there and not do anything about it.
Right.
And. Yeah, no, go ahead.
Yeah, no, look, you've got a. It's a wish in the wind that is, you know, just. Just to. Just to. You've got to continue continually sharp every single day and sort of, you know, I call it sort of like throwing a Frisbee out, you know, just. Just sending that signal out, you know, putting it out there and then getting out of the way. And my sort of job, like, I have a practice in the morning, it's about an hour. And then throughout the whole day, I'm. I call it playing tennis. I'm on the baseline. I'm making sure that I'm going to get triggered. I know I am. I'm going to get triggered left. I'm going to get triggered right. How quickly can I get back to that baseline, the recovery line, you know, and not allow myself to be triggered or. Or fall unconscious? And, you know, I just want to get out of the way. I want to try and see the signs. I'm not going to force the signs. And, you know, if nothing happens that day, no worries. I'll. I'll come back to my office in the morning, this studio I have, and I'll do my practice again, you know, And. And that's it. Right. And then when things manifest, great sort of, you know, move on to other things too. So it's like, again, I'm just like playing right?
And then the. And then everything is so much more fun. When you play with your life in that way, it really does become a game in which you are the avatar.
Absolutely. And then. And that is. And that is actually now, you know, with the rise in AI and so many other great minds, you Know, we are leaning to that sort of whole simulation hypothesis that, you know, that this isn't fixed and actually, you know, reality can be modified just through your observation and your intent, you know. So how do you want to play your game?
You know, I had a moment this morning. I was leaving the gym and I looked around and I was like, are all these people just characters in my video game? Like, everybody's just there. Everybody's like doing a different exercise. Exercise. And I was like, this feels Bizarro world to me. Like I'm leaving my class and all these little people around are just like, like in LEGO World or whatever. Lego, the Lego Movie, where each different person is like doing a different exercise and they're just all characters in this game that I'm in today.
I actually asked Tom Campbell that question. I said to him, I said, you know, oh, does everyone that I'm like walking past, do they? Are they real? And he said, some of them are what he calls NPCs, non player characters.
Oh, my kids say call NPCs all the time. That's like a kid kid. Yeah.
In the simulation hypothesis, there's a lot of NPCs. But I said, yeah, but I could go up to one of them, though, and they'll have a story. And he said, yeah, but in that moment, the larger consciousness system will play through them. So, you know, he said, look, you know, someone just randomly comes into your life out of nowhere.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Say something to you, helps you, and then just moves on with their life and you never see them again. That could have absolutely been an NPC who was just there for the moment to wake you up, help you and move on, and you have no idea who they are, how they helped you, how to get in contact with them, and you never hear from them again.
You know, it's like so trippy to me right now. But no one else can know this because they haven't lived my. My week this week.
Yeah.
Is that every conversation that I've had has been about these same things. Like, and I don't know when people sign up for podcast, who's going to sign up and when they're going to sign. It's randomly generated, right. I send out a link, but all three of my conversations have all been similar. And then I presented at something this morning. I presented for a group of therapists and we were talking specifically about. I called it like a divine intervention where someone comes in, it feels like an angel, they leave, they're not real. You can't Find them. This was someone who talked about something that happened with an Uber driver who, like, showed up. And then she could never see his face because every time she tried to catch a glimpse of his face, the sun was shining or the mirror was reflecting. When she got out of the car, she went to say goodbye and he drove off before she could say anything. And there was no receipt to know his name. And I was like, oh, my God. Like, I've always said it's like an angel or some sort of divine intervention. But now I'm gonna think of like a little LEGO man coming and npc.
A non player who's played by the larger consciousness system in divine time in that moment to wake you up and help you understand exactly what you need to do in that moment. But you'll never see them again, you.
Know, oh, my God, this is so cool and so fun.
And that's, you know, that's another thing when you, when you actually hold an intention for like, being open and ready for guidance and help like that, that's when you might see these characters sort of start showing up.
You know, I'm gonna play this game. How many NPCs can I find?
I know, right? It's, yeah, it's, it's, it's truly fascinating. But, you know, this is, and this is my mind, you know, I needed for me. Anyway, being analytical science demystifies the mystical. So speaking to, you know, someone like Thomas Campbell, who's a physicist and solve the hard problems for NASA and, you know, he's credible, of course, and to hear him talk about manifestation in a completely unique way was like the icing on the cake for me. So. But it, but it really is as simple as your intention can modify probabilities too simple as that. But the question is, where's your intention? Because your intention is how you're observing your reality. Is your intention conscious? And are you consciously going, okay, that's the vision, that's the manifestation. I'm going to observe it as if it's already done. I'm going to act, think, feel, behave, and show up like that future version of me in the present moment. And I'm going to consciously reframe any thoughts and beliefs that are out of alignment. And that's the model.
That's where awareness and meditation and all these practices come in. Is because you can't be of an observing ego if you are so in your ego all the time.
Exactly, exactly. Yeah. And most people, like, if you stop the average person in the streets and say, do you know you're not your thoughts. They'd think you're crazy. What do you mean I'm not my thoughts? Well, you're not, because if you can. If you. If you're aware of your thoughts, if you can hear your thoughts, who's the one sort of listening, you know? So it's a really powerful, simple practice, you know, and ever. And this is the beautiful thing. This is why I love and adore this work, because it works for everyone. Because we're all creators. And you know why? Because we're all sparks of a larger consciousness system which created everything, you know, so can you.
I mean, I have, like a million questions that we didn't even get through, but that's fine because I love this conversation. Can you walk us through the. Where's my note? The. The collapse of the wave game? Because I think it's the first. It's in the beginning chapter of your book, but I. I found it to be really interesting and seemed like a simple way to sort of step into some of this. And. And by the way, there's a million amazing exercises in this book. So we're not given anything. You. You're still gonna have to buy the book to get all these great ways to make this happen for yourself.
Well, that's why I did it. Because the reason it's practical as well as, like, the science and the stories and the. You know, it's a mix of everything is I think if someone is a little bit skeptical, your best evidence is always going to be your own practice, you know, so. So the collapse of the wave game, like I've said, the collapse of the wave function is the way. The way energy, which is what you're manifesting from turns from energy to matter, is. Is observation. So when we say collapse of the wave, the energy is known as the wave. Physical reality is known as the particle. So what collapses the wave is observation. So in that book, what I ask people to do is over the next 48 hours, think of something fun and small that you'd love to manifest that you can sort of let go in a way you can. It could be. Could be anything. It could be manifesting, you know, a compliment or sort of money out of nowhere, really anything. It could be an object, a symbol, an animal. And I ask you to write it down as if it's already done and visualize it as if it's already done and thank it, and then. And then let it go. And then you get out of the way and you see what happens over the next, you know, 24 to 48 hours. And if it doesn't happen in that time, fine, do it again, you know, and keep building this evidence. And you'll be. And you'll be. You'll be amazed at what happens, especially when you can. What I call set and forget. So you can set an intention like that, something quite small, and get out of the way. Because what actually happens, Amy, is the biggest stuff. We tend to get in that way. You know, we want it so much, so it tends to take longer. Because actually resistance is the only illusion. You know, resistance is our own sort of belief system and blocks and. Yeah, so that's the collapse of the wave game, which I think everyone will have a lot of fun with and keep doing it and trying it.
Are you familiar with Bill Bensington cycling work?
I don't know why that rings a bell, but I'm gonna say no.
Okay. I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on his cycling because he talks about manifestation, but it's way too much to go into. Like. But what he talks about is, like, you just set a vision. You. You come up with a word.
Yeah.
And a picture, an image that's connected to that, and you have 20 of those things that are connected. And he does what's called cycling. So he does this, like, tap, tap, tap. And with each tap, and this is a majorly simplified version, you have the image in the picture of, like, whatever it is you want. So if it's abundance and, and wealth, it's like, what does that specifically sort of look like?
Okay.
And then you, you envision that. So maybe it's a big house or whatever it is. And then you. You have to have 20 things and you have to cycle through these things over every single day. Every single day. And it's sort of like the wheel of fortune wheel. Like, that's how quickly you're cycling. And he's done exper. He actually recently passed away, sadly. But he. He's done experiments with water and with healing cotton, where you put your energy into, like, cotton and you envision it and then he. You can put it on parts of your body and it heals you. Again, this is a very dumbed down version because I would have to go back and re. Look at his work again. But I would just be curious to hear your thoughts on how well how that is with what you do.
I know. I know exactly how. So these are all tools. Now, I think the truth is, Amy, we don't need any tools to manifest because consciousness is fundamental and that's what we are, all we need is to think in our head. But because we're physical beings, and we tend to sort of move around a physical. Physical world, we need sort of. We need tools to. To do things. So. So this is why people come up with all these wonderful ways of, like, manifesting or healing. You know, they're just tools to hold intention. And he's developed his own tool now. People might listen and go, you know what? That didn't work for me. And that. That's okay, but it worked for Ben, and it probably worked for millions of other people who tried that technique. What? For me, my secret weapon is gratitude. Writing down my gratitude statements for not what's in my life, but what's not in my life as if it is. Right? And so that's. My. People will read that in the book as well. But again, that. That. That's my secret weapon. It's my tool that works really well for me. And I think what I'd recommend to a lot of people is you want to look at all these tools, try them all, and go, do you know what? That really resonates? And that really worked for me. And then use that as your tool. And what I've done is I've tried them all, and I love hearing new ones like that. Actually, it's a great, great technique. But I'm. I'm not actually very visual. I struggle. I struggle to visualize. My wife is an incredible visualizer. So the visualization side of manifestation I typically struggle with. And I. I get real good success through writing, you know, so, you know, or running. I find that when I run, I can visualize really well and listening to. Listening to music at the same time. But sat down in a meditation, that.
Would not work for me, you see? Yeah, but in a shower, all my information comes in. Boom. Like, drops in.
There you go. But, you see, for me, dreaming is a really powerful way. I have very vivid, lucid dreams where I can ask questions and find clues, but other people, despite how long they try and eight hours in bed, struggle to remember their dreams. So, you know, we're all different. And I think we've got to try all these tools to figure out what works best, best for us, you know, but we're all. We're all the same. We're all made of the same stuff. You know, some of us have harder stories and harder pasts, and that might require some more rewiring than maybe you and I, Amy, but, you know, we all have the same ability to create whatever life we desire. It's really simple.
So two more questions. What does your life. What is your life looking like and how did it change? You're clearly not the real estate guy that you were six years ago. You're an international speaker on manifestation with a book out tomorrow, everybody. This amazing book, the Art of the Manifestation Beyond Wanting. Trying to read it back. The Art of True Manifest. It's my old age eyes and the reflection that made this super hard.
The book is called Beyond Wanting.
Beyond Wanting. The True Art of the.
The art heavy. Art of True Beyond Wanting, Beyond Wanting.
The Art of True Manifestation.
Yeah, so we got that. Exactly.
I'll leave that blooper in. I won't cut that blooper out.
Yeah, I like the blooper. I thought it was really getting used to try and read it backwards. So.
Yes. So one, what does your life look like? And two, I wanted to talk a little bit. I know we. We probably. Probably need to go to bed or something over there on the other side of the pond. How synchronicities play in.
Okay, so yeah, so my life now, I have my wife and my one year old son Humphrey and we now travel around the world speaking. So I've traveled all over in the last few months. So I, I've just recently partnered with the company who are going to be arranging all my events across Europe and America next year. And they work with some of the biggest spiritual teachers such as Eckhart Tolle, Dr. Jody Spencer, Bruce Lipton, Greg Braden, Lynn McTaggart, Michael Beckwith. You know, it's truly amazing and it feels quite surreal to be sort of partnering with them. They're going to be doing that. So my role, your goal now, manifestation, if you like, is to take this message in person. You know, I love speaking on stage. It was 1500 people in Switzerland on Sunday and I just.
Whether or not your family shows up, it doesn't matter anymore.
Exactly, right, Exactly. And that's been really nice. And I think actually that with the rise in AI and now struggling to discern the difference between truth or reality when you're watching videos, I think honestly there'll be a human craving for in person events. I really do. I really feel that human connection is so important now. So my real desire and goal now is to the core of everything I do is to learn. I love learning. And then as soon as I learn, I like to teach or spread the message. So it's just sharing this around the world. So that's what my life looks like now. Published with Penguin, which is amazing. Out in New York this week, my future publisher. Absolutely. It already exists. Right. You just gotta nudge it in your direction.
Exactly. It exists. I, I put it out to Viviana. Yes. I said one day you're gonna be. Yeah, I reached out to her and I said, I asked her to connect me for a couple of other books that that penguin is launching. And I said to her, I look forward to you one day. Being my publicist, I love that way to manifest.
There we go. Right? That's exactly how it works. And everyone will read this story in my book about how I manifested Penguin, which is amazing.
Yeah.
So yeah, there's that, there's the now sort of really just taking this message around the world and getting out of the office. You know, for the last few years I've been sort of coaching one to one, so that's that synchronicity. So talking about synchronicity, my book's publishing on 11 11, which wasn't planned either, you know, that was purely synchronistic. My editor emailed me in January and said, I think we've got a date for the book, Tuesday the 11th of November. And I said, do not change that. Go and tell, go and speak to the senior editor, lock that date in. 1111 is the perfect frequency for manifestation. Book 1111 of course means new beginnings. So the, the universe or the larger consciousness system is trying to wake us up, up. It's trying to get our attention and you know, it will do that through synchronicity. You know, you might be thinking sort of certain thoughts, oh, you know, I don't have to quit my job, I don't have to do this. I really like the idea though, starting this new business and then you might just keep seeing 1111, 1111 1111. It's sort of like early evidence and it's this co creation, it's this universe sort of like trying to show you the way, you know, so you, you'll get that which is just like feedback. It's a reflection from like what you're putting out, you know. Or it could also be like the early collapse of the wave as well. Like our manifestations don't just like appear out of nowhere. Sometimes it is some like a slurring of like, I call it like a sequential rendering. I like that word of like information turning into matter. And that sort of early evidence might be just like, I don't know, keep overhearing conversations or, or keep getting people on your podcast who keep talking, talking about the simulation hypothesis, you know, so it's like there's something happening there for you, so you have to almost like.
And I think that the sync. And I think that that's what. What it is, is the sync. Synchronicities don't necessarily show up as 1111. They show up as three people talking about something similar. And you're like, I wonder what it. What I'm being called to.
And, you know, it's a great point because my dad, he. The way he's demystified what I do is statistical odds. My dad's very good with statistics and statistical odds. And he'll say to me, you know, Matt, he'll go, let's work out the odds of that actually happening. So, like, Amy, with you, if you try and put odds on, like, three people within a week talking about the same thing, and you've probably done hundreds of episodes before, you probably couldn't really put odds on that, like, you know, and win, you know, so it's like. So then it's got to be something waking you up, telling you you need to. Like, I'm nudging you here. But a lot of the time, if we're unconscious, we'll just dismiss it as coincidence. And I've. I've chosen to lean more into my intuitive brain, you know, the right brain. Left brain's useful, of course, for, like, what we're talking about now, but, you know, there's got to be something going on there, and. And where's it going to lead me? So. Okay, well, you might decide, you know what, I'm going to go and study Thomas Campbell. I'm going to go and read his book. I'm going to go and watch Sinkholes, and then. And then, I don't know, lead you somewhere else and then lead you to your publisher, and you go, oh, my. I thought I needed to go this way. And all I really needed to do was follow the. You know, and that's how it works a lot of the time.
Yellow Brick Road. Yeah.
Yeah. Right.
Well, Matt, this was an awesome, fascinating interview. It's no surprise to me that you have had the success that you have. I would say I wish you luck, but that feels like a weird manifestation of something you don't. Like. You're just.
Just.
You're just.
It.
You just embody it. And I think that's just. I mean, you can feel it when you. When we speak.
I'll take your wishes, Amy. Thank you.
Okay. I will wish you very well. I mean, I. Yeah. And I don't mean to, like, take that away, but it just feels funny to Say, like, I wish you good luck. Like, as if that's some.
Like, I think sometimes we have to remember we can still be normal human beings. Like, like. Thank you, Amy. That's very kind of you. I appreciate it. Yeah.
And I know you're good. I mean, it's, it's, it's wonderful. And I'm so excited to know you and to just have, have met you and I'm excited to see what the world has in store for you because I, I look forward to watching as you. I mean, I, I feel like the world is, is your oyster and there are no limits to what you're going to do, and the world needs more of that. So thank you for being here on a Friday evening and for sharing this wisdom with the world.
It's my pleasure. And honestly to. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for saying that. I really do appreciate it. And thank you to every listener who's listening now as well.
Everybody go check out this book if you want to manifest. It is. It is a great guidebook. I've read a lot of books on manifestation. Some of them I understand, some of them I don't. This one is fantastic. So thank you.
You're welcome. Thank you, Amy.
