Until You Observe It, You Can’t Change It - The Foundations of Manifestation

Matt Cooke and Coruscant explore how self-observation through journaling and noticing your thought patterns comes before manifestation. They build a 12-month future-self profile, take aligned action, then practice surrender to let outcomes arrive. Real examples include money mindset work, a book deal, and buying a house.

Coruscant. It's great to be back again, having another conversation. And there is so much to unpack in this conversation. I think what we want to do is really strip it back and talk about the foundations of manifestation, how we started, what advice would give, you know, for anyone who is starting or wanting to polish up their, you know, their manifestation game. But first, I just want to say, and I'm sure you all have a few words. It was absolutely amazing to see all the comments, the emails, and the message messages that we had from everyone who tuned into our last conversation. It was completely unscripted. We didn't know where we were going with it. You definitely didn't plan to get emotional. Maybe you just want to share a couple of words first on that, and then let's dive into it.
Well, I think what was amazing is that it was. I felt like when I was talking about it, like I was talking to definitely a version, a younger version of myself, which, you know, it's so interesting because I had a group of. I had so many amazing messages, but there were definitely four or five that really stuck out to me, and they were women saying to me, you know, this was just normalizing something that I felt and, you know, you know, making this, like a completely normal situation rather than it being like a, you know, kind of something that you feel like you're dealing with on your own and that no one else is going through it. And I think that where it came from for me is that in that moment, all I was thinking about was, was Coruscant, who was struggling. And I didn't think about anything else. I. I hoped that somebody would take something from it, but I had no idea that people, you know, would be reaching out to me and saying how much it helped them. And I think it's really interesting because, you know, when I was struggling, I was searching constantly for that relatability. That's all I wanted was somebody else to say, I have been there myself. Or, you know, it's. What you're going through is completely normal and, you know, just kind of almost giving you permission to just breathe and take that moment for yourself. So the fact that I was able to achieve that, for me is beyond anything that I. I could have absolutely only have dreamt of having that impact. And I just want to thank all the women that reached out to me. Not just women, but, you know, particularly the women that reached out to me, because I, you know, I'm hugely grateful because it is a huge thing, you know, putting that vulnerability out for me, was very, very alien. In fact, I said to you, let's cut that bit out. I actually wanted to cut that part out only because I didn't. You know, for me, I found it really difficult to talking about myself. I didn't want to make it about me. So if anyone took anything from it, I. You know, I'm just so happy that, you know, it was something that we could all share. So thank you.
Yeah. Thank you to everyone. Because we, we, we. It's the one thing that I will say. It's. It's not that we're ignoring anyone. It's quite overwhelming how many messages we do get. But I just want everyone to know that they're heard.
Oh, they are so heard. Yeah.
And thank you.
But on.
On that, actually, I do want to just dive a little bit deeper into that area for you that. That darkness that you faced after giving birth. Because I think how this relates, I just want to start by saying authenticity. So if everyone goes and Googles the emotional vibrational chart, you'll see a chart of different emotions, and emotions move and resonate at different vibrational frequencies. So you'll see at the lower end of the scale, you have fear and hatred and grief, for example, and at the top end of that scale, you have love, peace, and joy. And authenticity isn't on there. But there was this great experiment done in a Faraday cage where they asked people to be completely themselves. And when they were detecting the electromagnetic sort of broadcast from those individuals, when they were being truly authentic, they realized that that actually vibrated higher than love, which I thought was really interesting. And that's why I sort of encouraged you to post that video, because nothing beats authenticity. And on that, talking about authenticity, everyone faces their own version of trauma. You know, we're all human beings. We can't help the natural rhythm and cycle of life. One of the laws of the universe is the law of rhythm. So you can be doing all of this manifestation work, all the meditation or the journaling, and still be faced with some form of external trauma.
Yeah.
Whether it's a family member passing away or just something unexpected that catches you out of the blue. And that definitely happens to us. And I think a great example of that was exactly what you faced once Humphrey was born. So for anyone listening now, knowing all the tools you have, could you just talk us through what you did when you were in that. That dark place and how you. How you were able to. To come out the other side?
Well, what I realized very quickly is after I'd given birth To Humphrey. I realized in that moment how. How easy it is for me for something to completely throw you off balance. It's almost like you're walking down a road that's very familiar, and it's things that you see every day as you walk down this road, and then suddenly something just pushes you off the path, and you're on this unknown road, and you don't recognize anything on there. And so I thought, right, I need to get back to the familiar. So for me, it was all about just getting back into my own head, so recognizing the thoughts that I was having. So that was the first place for me to start. It wasn't right. I've got to get back into a routine. I've got to be back to that version I was before. No, I said to myself, right, what thoughts am I having here? So what is. What is actually slipping by my awareness? And I noticed that it was a recurring pattern that had. I've. I've suffered with, you know, pre. Doing this work was a big thing for me, was always kind of like anxiety, worry, doubt, definitely. You know, that feeling of not feeling quite good enough and feeling very kind of sometimes out of my depth in different situations. So I could feel that creeping in that self doubt, that worry. So I just recognize those thoughts, and I would actually write them down. So sometimes I would just sit and I remember actually I had like a pad that I just shove on the side, and I sometimes would just write whatever was in my mind, and then I would read it a day later. And I think, right, I can see a recurring pattern here.
So.
So I thought, I've got control of it. If you're. If you're recognizing a thought pattern, you have control of it already. So you already. You're already succeeding if you are noticing a thought pattern. If you're noticing that you're worrying and you're noticing that you're in fear or, you know, stress or anxiety, if you notice it, you're already winning. So I thought, right, I haven't fallen unconscious here. I know it's happening. So that's a great step. So I sort of had this feeling of like, right, I have control of it again, and then from there it would be okay. So what moments during the day could I do something here for myself? And that could be anything. That could be just sitting, just for maybe five to 10 minutes, just with my own thoughts, catching the thoughts that were coming in and maybe just reframing them slightly and just really being gentle as if you are exercising for the first time. You know, you don't go straight in and do, like a huge run or, you know, you're not straight back to the gym doing, like, you know, five days a week. It's just very, very slow steps. So after that, recognizing, you know, for me anyway, was journaling was so helpful because I was able to see what was occurring each day in my mind. And I think being able to look at it and view it almost makes it look ridiculous in your head. It feels such a huge thing. You feel like you're dealing with it alone. And it feels like a block is getting bigger and bigger and bigger and bigger. Whereas when you write it down, I feel like you can observe it out of your. And you can actually look at it and say, this is actually ridiculous. This is all like, you know, thoughts that aren't real. These are, you know, things that belief systems that are, you know, they aren't true. And you're able to reframe it. So that reframe framing process was, for me, the absolute first step. And I think you and I were talking about this the other day, weren't we? We were saying that if you're able to recognize those thoughts, you're already, you know. You know, you're already winning.
Yeah, I. What you've just shared is so powerful. And I want to tie that in with anyone who's starting out with manifestation. Most people think that with manifestation, which is the deliberate act of bringing something that you desire into the physical world through thinking, feeling, and action, that you focus on what you want. But it's very hard to do that. And a great example of that was the trauma you were facing. The actual, true place to start is self observation, which you've just beautifully explained through journaling. And the reason for that is when you were able to just write down the internal dialogue. What we then use is the analytical part of our brain that sort of looks and reasons and goes, well, that's not true, though. But. But why do I feel like that? And then you regain power. And I've spoken about this so many times, but if you understand on a. I don't want to go too deep here, but on a quantum level, the observation, which very simply just means looking at something, the awareness of something turns energy into physical reality. And all things physical in this reality are part of that energetic field. Then in order to attract or manifest something, it starts with observation. So my advice to anyone, starting with manifestation is first, slow down, walk before you can run. Which is really annoying to hear, especially if there's something that you really desire, but actually understand that what. In fact, ask yourself this. What is my current observation of reality? And just as you said, Coruscant, that your observation was one of worry, fear, anxiety, worthiness, you stopped, you detached that. You became the observer and you looked at it by writing it down. And that's exactly where I would recommend everyone start. That you become almost the fly on the wall. And you. You watch yourself. That's what I do with all my clients for at least those first couple of weeks. How am I thinking day to day? Because you are not the thoughts. That's the default mode network. You're separate from it. Write it down, even go into a silent meditation. I know it's tempting to go and do a guided meditation where I could guide you, but just sit in that meditation and just observe what comes up, what thoughts are in your head. And then as you do that and you start to see what those thoughts are by writing them down or seeing them in meditation, you can then start to rewrite that program. Would you agree?
Oh, 100 and I think people think that you've got to have this, you know, routine set out. You know, there's some sort of magical thing, you know, that you've got to do this routine that's really complicated. It actually isn't. It's really, really simple.
Yeah.
And it's just becoming. And I think also it's really interesting because I. I sometimes see a lot of your messages that come through, and a lot of people are quite confused about journaling because I think they think that they've got to do some diary entry and it's got to be like super complicated. It's got to be some, you know, huge paragraph of. Of some meaningful. It actually. The more unmeaningful, the better, in a way, even if it's. It's taking everything out of your brain. And I think if you're someone that worries and you're someone that's very internal, you know, you'll have these very internal thoughts. It is absolutely perfect because I think even if you carry it around with you, which sounds silly in those first early days, and you just write down, okay, I'm worrying about this. And this is how it's so interesting because our brains can, you know, our brains know when to say something isn't real. And when it is in the day, when we're conscious and we're awake, you know, we can tell when something's a cartoon or when something's like real life TV or whatever. So it's the same with with your journaling, it's the same with your thoughts, but it feels very, very real when it's inside your head because it just keeps expanding. But when you can see it on paper, it's funny because you read it and you can say, God, this looks ridiculous. This sounds ridiculous. And you can actually kind of make fun of it in a way, you know, so true. And I, and I think seeing that it's like the first stage, but it's interesting because something I, you know, I think that, I think people will be very interested to hear your thoughts on is that manifestation. If you're starting for the very, very first time and you're hearing a lot of, you know, people are talking about manifestation, and it's, it's quite nino. A lot of people make it very complex and people just want to know, where do I start from where I am now in my life. How would you suggest people start?
So I spoke about the observation. Just. That's really important. First, just understand who you're being. Who you're being is how are you thinking? How are you behaving every day? And it's really simple because I think everyone knows what they want. They might categorize that as more money to be in a relationship, to buy my dream home, to get pregnant and have a family, to get out of my job that I'm unfulfilled and start a business. So everyone has a broad idea of what they want. But first you've got to just understand, are you being in alignment with that? So very simply, one of my first ever desires was to have more money. Because I always felt like money was just something that always. I could never quite hold on to. You know, I had money and then I'd lose it. I was always in debt. It was just one of those vicious cycles for me. And I knew that I wanted money. But by using observation, I knew that I wasn't an abundant person. And what do I mean by that? I didn't think abundant thoughts. I, I like to imagine money, for example, as a being. So not male or female. I'm just trying to imagine money as a. A friend, an energetic friend that's always with you. And what helped me is I thought to myself, okay, well, money is what I want. If I try and imagine money as something like a being, if I took money out with me for, for lunch, would that friend stick with me? Based on how I'm currently thinking about money and my, my thoughts at the time were, I've never got money. Money's never there for me. I've got a love hate relationship with money. Money always lets me down. I always feel like money's running away, you know, just, just those thoughts. Just through my observation, I thought if, if money was a friend, would that friend actually want to be my friend? And that's so simple. And the truth, the truth was no. Why would that friend stick around? And I thought, if I start saying I'm grateful for all the money I have, I'm grateful for money being here to help me. I love money. Money's a great tool. We work together and just change my dialogue. Even really thinking about the money I had, even though it didn't feel like much, the gratitude for just money to, to pay even, even the credit card bill every month, you know, just things like that. What that narrative did is it changed me. And as you start to change yourself, you start to notice that the external world starts to reflect that because you attract into your life who you're being in the present moment. But to answer your question there, because that was mainly wrapped around self observation, I said most people are quite broad, so people might struggle with what they want. They might just say happiness or peace. What I like to say is, let me think about a 12 month version of myself.
Yeah, I love this.
And the reason I say that is because if you're trying to manifest something in the next few months though, there could be disbelief around that. Like, how's that going to happen? If you think, in my opinion, any further out than 12 months, couple of years, five years, it seems too far out. And we all know how much can change in that period of time. But we all can relate to a year going by pretty quickly. But at the same time it seems far enough out for a lot to change. Like if I think back in one of our previous years, how much change? Like my book deal with Penguin getting pregnant and having a baby in the same year, buying our dream house in Cornwall by the end of 2024. None of that existed the year before. Not even my agent, my book deal, us being pregnant, or even knowing how we were going to buy a dream house. So that's why I use the year, because it blows me away how much you can achieve, but it goes by quickly. So say to yourself, okay, if I could be any version of myself in 12 months time, who would I like to be? You're not thinking about what you get to have. I just want you to think about the personality traits of that version of you. So for me, that was more present. If I think back to a version of Myself, a couple years ago, more present, more fun, you know, has this light energy around them. They are abundant, they lead, they provide value. Just think. And it's quite hard to do that, but think about the characteristic traits of that version of you. First the personality. And then what I like to do is then imagine I go up to that version of myself and say, look, you know, I could be any version of me in 12 months. How did you be this abundant person? How are you so fun? How are you so free? How have you. How are you delivering so much value? What did you do? And then imagine you have a conversation with that version of yourself and allow the thought, the instant thoughts to come in as truth. So for me, that was, you know, I. I took risks, I put myself out there, I got comfortable being uncomfortable on camera, you know, and, and really listen to the action steps that that future version of you took. And then you say, okay, well, as a result of doing all these things like taking risks, putting yourself out there, saying no to energy drainers and thieves, you're now this version, this abundant, fun, free, valuable person, show me what you get to have. And then this version of yourself shows you what they get to have. This amazing business, this freedom, this money. And that there, in my opinion, creates a really nice vision for that future.
And what's really interesting, just adding on to that is we all do this anyway, so we're all expected to. For example, if you're working in a job, very often, you're forecasting the year.
Yeah.
You know, if you're thinking about booking a holiday, you're booking in the future. We all do this anyway. But I think somehow we've been programmed to say that we're not. We shouldn't be thinking about a future version of ourselves. We shouldn't be dreaming too big when actually you should be. And everything that you've just said there, you know, something else that I think we should definitely stress here is clarity.
Yes.
So I think being as crystal clear as possible, and it's a little bit like, I think we talked about this, I think it would have been about two years ago. I remember me and you were having this conversation about being in a restaurant and ordering food and how you order the food, you're very clear about exactly what it is that you want to eat. And then you let go and you hand it over to someone else to cook it, to prepare it, and to bring it back to you. And I think it's very, very similar to manifest. Actually, I really like that analogy, but I think it's all about being absolute, crystal clear. So putting every single element together. So we talked about, we'd go on a walk. And we'd think of all the parts to our manifestation. Every single part from start to finish. And I think this will. This is what so many people forget is they have kind of like a cloudy view. I think it's this kind of thing that I want to manifest. Or this is the sort of thing that I'm aiming for. You have to be as crystal clear as possible.
Yes.
Too attached to a specific outcome. Because we always have to remember. It could be something, it could be that or better. But I think being as crystal clear as possible. And, you know, you and I used to see it as sort of stages, you know, very much that reverse engineer, that manifestation start, you know, as sort of like you're walking up a staircase. And what are those different stages to that manifestation? The start to the very, very end. And I think when you're clear and you can see a clear pattern of it in your head. It feels real. It starts and you start to rehearse that, it starts to become real. It starts to be something that you accept in your life. I think that's a really important thing to remember as well, is that clarity.
I completely agree. And I think it starts by don't ask yourself closed questions. No, ask open questions. What, what does that version of me look like? Explain in detail. You know, what do. What does money really mean to me? And do the be the. Do the have in detail, like Horizon said. Get really, really clear on all the details. As clear as you possibly can be. And then what I like to see happens. Or what I think in my imagination happens. Just from understanding quantum physics Is that I like to imagine that we have an infinite amount of frames of reality. And they're waiting to be rendered. Trying to imagine like a video game. Like they're rendering into reality. And what really is going to render it first is the conscious thought. So the real thinking and the imagination of what that life looks like. It's not then down for you to manifest the specifics of it happening. But at least take action towards that one frame. I think what's not spoken about enough in manifestation is. Is action.
Absolutely.
And I want to talk about that. Because when you get clear on who you want to be. And then you ask that future version of yourself, what did. What do you do? Listen to what they say. So for me it was take risks. Get yourself on camera. You know, put yourself out there if you want to. If you want to Be an expert in the field of manifestation. Read all the books, go deep in meditation, you know, explore the out of body state. You, you know, so if you want, if you want to have more money, well, okay, are you good with money now? Like, could you hold that money if you want to be abundant? Do you think like an abundant person? I didn't. So I, I went and read every book on money. The psychology of money. I will teach to be rich. I understood the stock market trading. These are all things I didn't understand previously to being abundant. So action conscious thought plus action creates that render, in my opinion. So when you start thinking and dreaming and visualizing like that future and you then start taking the action steps, and this isn't forced action by the way, this is aligned inspired action because it's in alignment with that vision. You're listening to what that future self told you that they did as you start just moving like right, okay, intuitively I've seen this book I keep seeing. It's called the Psychology of Money. I'm going to read it. So as I read it and I started to rewire my brain around, oh my God, money is actually really simple, especially understanding what abundant people do. So as I started to do that, then what started to happen is synchronicities started to appear outside of me. Abundant opportunities started to happen. I made sales in my online business and replaced my corporate salary. And those things manifested as a result of me being abundant.
And I think there isn't enough talk about taking aligned inspired action. This is what a lot of people struggle with is they say, okay, so I'm setting an intention and then I'm waiting for it to come to me. No, because you know, if you had wait, you know, you couldn't just wait for a book deal. There had to be a level of action. But so many synchronicities and signs and opportunities came your way as a result of you taking that action. And I think, yeah, something that we have to talk about here is the letting go and surrendering. Because this is something that I will admit here, I struggled with, I do still struggle with so much. You're incredibly good at surrendering and letting go. You're incredibly good at setting an intention and almost, you know, trusting in the universe. I would say I'm 75% of the way there. I still want to control it. I still can't understand once you've let it go, what are you doing with that? And I think so many people want the answer to that. And I think that something that would Be very interesting to hear from your perspective is what do you mean by surrender and letting go? Because so many people think that that is. That's it, you're waving it goodbye.
So I think we can give two really good examples here, from my perspective, of how I do it, but then how you do it too. Because I think for a lot of people that struggle with it, you're going to relate a lot more. Because for me, I've been doing it so long, I understand almost the science of it. I'm going to give the first example with my book deal with Penguin. Look, that was the ultimate dream as a kid, seeing the little penguin on books. But I had no idea, absolutely no idea how to start. I thought, oh, you just write the book first. You know, I knew it was about manifestation. I didn't know exactly what. The one thing I did hear online, a couple of things. It's unlikely now that you can go straight to a publisher, you need an agent. And you'd hear something crazy like, 95% of writers never publish anything. And I thought to myself, firstly, I'm not going to listen to that stat because if I take that as truth, that will manifest and I'll be one of those percentage. But I do understand it makes sense to me that I need an agent. Okay, So I did the whole who do I want to be? What did they do? And to me, it was obvious. Okay, well, first, let me reverse engineer down the book deal all the way to. Well, for me, I think that the best chance I'm going to have to. To manifest an agent is Instagram. And at the time, this end of 2022, I hadn't even started posting on Instagram. I think I had less than a thousand followers. I know I've shared this story before, but I even thought, you know, I need a mentor, really. So I reversed the agent to the mentor. And then I thought, you know, first actually, I need to build a following here. So what I did was just, I let go of the book deal, I let go of the agent, I let go of the mentor. I still rehearse that in my meditation. But I actually just took action every single day, consistently. If you look, I've never skipped a day. And I just posted something valuable, not to make money, but just to try and help people. And as my Instagram exploded, then someone reached out, called David, long story short, ended up becoming a really good, great friend and a mentor. But then again, I knew pitching to agents, it wasn't down to me to manifest that. I just had to do what David told me, refined my message, refined my proposal, listened to my mentor, took inspired action in alignment with what he said and allowed him to then pitch it for me. And that's that. To the surrender. I'm not chasing, I'm not phoning and hounding agents. I'm letting it go. And I'm just going to still show up every day. I'm still visualize it. I'm going to still practice, still post on social media and, and that's how it manifested.
And I, I should just say though, I think when, when we talk about David, he's like a guardian angel. I always see him like a guardian angel, somebody that appeared in our life and I think he, you know, he's somebody that I will remember for the rest of my life.
Yeah.
But I think what's really interesting about what you've just said, no one could, we could. Neither of us could have predicted David. Neither of us could have predicted that chain of events.
But that was the surrender. You see, I wasn't trying to. I knew, I knew it made sense to me that, look, I've never written before. I actually didn't think I was that great at writing a. I have a newsletter still to this day, which I love and adore. People said, oh, they found my newsletters valuable. But I remember being at school struggling in English. It was never something that came to me that naturally. And that was actually a limiting belief in my head. And it was a big scary world, the publishing world. And it was a dream to write a book, but there's that inner child struggling in English thinking, who am I to publish a book? You know, especially with someone like Penguin. So it made sense to me that I needed to try and find someone that could help me, like a teacher or a mentor. Now there's two types of action. I could have forced it. I could have gone on Google. I could have tried to have found a mentor. But I trusted the universe and that's the surrender. I set the intention. It was clear to me and I just showed up. I wasn't looking for, for the mentor. I just knew he or she would come and that. So I took aligned, inspired action. And the surrender is allowing that in. And that was how I manifested the whole book. But you struggle with that. And I think a great example. I'm going to fast forward here to when we bought our house in Cornwall.
Yeah.
Because, well, firstly, I'll. I'll start at the end and reverse back when we picked up the keys, who went into the agent and she said, to us, that is one of the quickest transactions that I've ever put through. I can't believe how. How flawless it was, how it blew me away. She said, how quickly it went through. She said, did you manifest it? And I said it was funny you say that. I said, type my name in on Instagram. And she said, oh, my God, you're a manifestation coach. And I said, yeah. I said, we manifested the whole transaction in that amount of time, but you struggled with each sequential step. And I think the big one here was we put the offer in on a Friday afternoon. We didn't have our offer accepted until late Monday or Tuesday morning, Tuesday. So we had to wait over the weekend and everything else. And you just could not understand letting go there, could you? Because you were saying to me over the weekend, matt, you've got a phone, you've got a chase. First thing Monday morning at 9:00'. Clock, Matt, why have we not heard? Get on the. How did then you, in that moment handle surrender, when in your nature you wanted to do everything you possibly could to force an outcome? What did you do?
It was really interesting because I get tested permanently on this, so this comes up all the time in my life and it's a constant test. And I remember it so clearly. You were. I think you might have been out. And it was getting to the end of Friday and I could. I was looking at the clock and I was thinking, we're not going to hear now until next week. And I could feel my heart rate going. I could feel that, like, that's it. They're not going to accept it. I could feel the worry coming in. I could feel the what ifs, the what ifs. I could feel it all coming in. It was almost like the gate had been opened and everyone was running in. So I thought, right, what do I. What can I always go back to here? That's like my trusted. My trusted friend in these moments. And it's meditation because I can quiet and I can silence my mind. And that has taken me a long, long time to do, but now I can do it. It is my best friend. And I was saying to you the other day, actually, in the car that we. Well, I feel I was. I used to do this, and I actually used to. This used to be my internal dialogue. If I'd had a stressful day at work or if something stressful had arisen in my life, I'd always say, I need a spa day. I need to go and have a massage. And that would be how I would switch off would be almost running away from the situation and just completely and utterly having something that would stop it. This is what meditation does. It gives you that toolkit in these moments where you can't silence your mind. You're really struggling, you can't. You're fighting that voice in your head, and you just need to shut it up. And at the time I'd started doing, which was because of being pregnant, and I thought it would help me during the birth, was transcendental meditation. For anyone that is interested in this, I would definitely advise you go and read up on it, because it is amazing, particularly if you're someone that struggles with internal thoughts. And I had been doing transcendental meditation for a few months, and I thought, right, I'm going to use it. This is when to use it. And I remember the lady that taught us, who is amazing, said, use it in those moments when you're sitting in traffic and you're stressed, when you need something to happen and it's not happening as quickly as you hoped. If you're nervous, if you're anxious, any of these times, do it. So I sat on a beanbag. I remember thinking, I can't shut this voice up in my head. And I sat there and it wasn't going. It wasn't going.
And then it wasn't going.
All of a sudden, that's it. They're not going to accept the offer. It's over. What are you going to do? Da, da, da, da. You're giving birth in a few months.
We need a house.
Yeah. Clock was ticking, ticking, ticking, ticking in my head. And then all of a sudden, sitting there for 10 minutes, silence. And I was able to really get myself back to that place, which for me was like imagining the future, seeing us there, seeing our little boy running on the garden, on the lawn, you know, feeling the sun beating down on me. I now have that. That was happening to me only last week when the sun was shining here and we. And then I looked around in the garden and I thought, I imagine this in. In my. I imagined this moment, and it's now happening. And what I just want to say is, it isn't saying that you cannot have those feelings of want of that, that passion that, you know, really not, you know, struggling to let go. It's. How can I work with myself and my brain here? And that is finding something that allows you to switch off, to reframe and to move that thought somewhere else. It's not about saying that you are never going to have that feeling of struggling with surrender or, you know, wanting something or feeling anxious that it's not going to happen, that isn't real life. It's about working with your brain, working with yourself here. And if you can find something that can silence those thoughts, even just for 10 minutes and let go, guess what? It happens.
Well, on that, the beanbag and the TM, yeah. It was Monday and it had gotten to 4:30 and the whole day you'd been worrying, it's not going to happen, they're not going to accept the offer. What are we going to do?
I think it was sort of like half three, four o' clock and I knew they closed at five, so I thought, nothing's going to happen.
And I said to you, babe, go upstairs, do 20 minutes TM, get out of the way. How many times can we all resonate with when we're in a conversation and we forget, oh, what was that person's name? Oh, what was that person's? Oh, it'll come to me in a moment. And it comes when we stop chasing the email that we're expecting and we stop checking our emails, it comes. Letting go is letting in. And I knew that in a way I was letting go, but Coruscant wasn't. So it was sort of like creating friction today. So I said to Coruscant, look, go and do TM, I'm already out of the way, go sit down. 10 minutes in, the phone rings whilst you're in TM.
Yeah.
And they said, congratulations, your offer's been accepted. And there was someone else also bidding. And that is what I mean by letting go and letting in. If you think what Coruscant did in that moment, she talked about all those worrying thoughts. But by letting go and doing tm, I want you to imagine that she opened her energetic door wide open and she allowed the answer, the good news in.
And I see, I find an analogy, because I'm quite a visual person, I find an analogy, like, really helpful in these moments. And I think how you've got to see it is imagine you've got a really narrow doorway and imagine the only way that people get in and out of that doorway is if it's clear. If you were to stand in front of that doorway, nobody can get in.
Yeah. Yeah.
So what you have to do, so true. Step straight out of the way and open that door and leave it open. It's not about blocking the doorway so that people can't get in. It's about moving completely out of the way and realizing that when you move out of the way, you're allowing it all to come through. And actually that release of energy, of not clinging on to something is so powerful. But when you master it, it does get easier and easier each time. I think it's very frustrating when you hear people say, just let go. Because you're like, I can't. But the way of doing this is knowing that the moment that you get into that state, the moment that you start to surrender, everything just comes in. And also you feel lighter because you're shifting your energy from that control to release.
And when you practice it like Coruscant did there.
Yeah.
Which is a great example. It never goes. There's always like, people, I think possibly assume that I don't ever worry now. You're never going to stop worrying thoughts.
No.
Things always trigger you. And I think the more I do this work, the bigger my manifestations have become, you know, So I. What happens is you become really, really good at just literally, for me, it's like a cloud. It's like I literally see there's the thought, it's, oh, my God, look at that. Look at that worry. And then it goes. So here's some great tools that people can use. What's quite hard for a lot of people is stopping the cycle of thought. Worrying thought after worrying thought after worrying thought after worrying thought. One of the best things you can do is to stop it by saying the word change.
Yes. So powerful.
When you see the thought, say the word change and you stop it. If that doesn't work, say to yourself, as you see the thought, I wonder what my next thought will be. That there changes it as well. And if that doesn't work, as you look at it and look at it and look at it go say to yourself, is that thought true? Is that thought true? And write it down and do exactly what Khorasan said as well. And it's just the awareness that, yeah, thoughts are inside. But if you're aware of these thoughts, like Khorasan was aware of the worry of, you know, are often not being accepted on our house. The moment you become aware of that, you have the ability to break those thoughts. So let's wrap this session. Let's wrap this conversation. There's so much we can go into, and I think let's save it for another time before we do. Is there anything you want to just finish off with the whole surrender thing? Any final thoughts for you?
I think you covered all of it, but I just think, just see it like you're releasing that grip and also that this is a toolkit. These are all toolkits. And all you're doing is you've got your toolbox and you're just adding these tools in there. And they're just tools that will equip you with different things that you go through in your life.
I agree, and I think on that as well. And I'll. We'll go into this in more detail. Surrender is not giving up. Surrender is not no longer doing your practice. Surrender, for me, is just getting out of the way, if that makes any sense. Getting out of the negative thinking and the worrying. TM we'd highly recommend because it's not even a form of mental rehearsal of visualization. It's just a mantra. It's just getting silent. So I just want to say thank you to everyone who's tuning in every couple of weeks to these episodes. We don't know where they're essentially going to go from here, but we're gonna commit to continue doing them. And if you're. If you're not subscribed, please subscribe to the channel because everyone watching it means a lot and it helps us grow and it eventually helps us grow, you know, expand this content and go further afield. So, yeah, thanks for tuning in, and we'll see you again in a couple of weeks.
Thank you.
