What Everyone Gets Wrong About Manifestation—And How To Do It Right ft. Matt Cooke

Manifestation coach Matt Cooke describes how a 2019 experience with his deceased mother's voice pulled him from corporate real estate into studying consciousness. He breaks down his framework: 95% of behavior runs on the subconscious, meditation shifts your brainwaves to reprogram it, and visualization paired with aligned action collapses possibility into reality.

Hi, welcome back to Getting Open with Me. Andrea Miller. If you are a manifestation aficionado, or if you're just a little curious or somewhere in between, this episode is for you. My guest is one of the leading teachers of the most effective manifestation techniques and boy, does he ever deliver an amazing explanation for why these things actually work and powerful practical exercises for you to live your best life. So let's get into it. Oh my gosh. I'm so excited to have Matt Cook on the show today. Matt is a renowned manifestation coach and thought leader who inspires a global audience with his modern approach to spirituality. With a giant engaged following on social media, Matt brings a unique blend of wisdom, science, empathy and practical insight to his work, providing guidance to millions of grateful people. At the heart of Matt's mission is a profound desire to connect deeply with, with spiritual seekers and like minded souls. He leaves, he lives, excuse me, with his wife Coruscant and their son Humphrey Baby in Cornwall, uk. Welcome, Matt. It's so great to have you here.
Thank you, Andrew. It's great to be here with you.
Yeah, well, I, I feel like your story and what you and how you incorporate your story and what you teach is so foundational. So can we just start with you're giving a little bit of the background to how you've gotten here and then I've got about a million questions in terms of what we can learn from you.
Of course. So I know a lot of people have probably heard this story, but it's really important because let me set the scene. In 2019, I wasn't spiritual. I was in real estate here in the UK, you know, corporate job, 9 to 5, about 18 months before my mother had passed away. You know, she was 50 years old. And I remember I was in that phase where I was thinking, you know, what a shame, what a, what a waste in a way. You know, she was working so hard for retirement, never quite got there. So even though I wasn't spiritual, that was the sort of thought process going on in my head at the time. Like there's got to be more to life. And you know, I was exploring ideas and ways to try and get myself out of, you know, the corporate rat race, if you like, to, to live a better life for my wife Coruscant and I. So I was in that sort of mindset of just figuring out who I was in all of this, you know, not the corporate shell of Matt, but the sort of the consciousness if you like. I didn't know that was the terminology then, but you know, the I. And then one particular evening, typical night, February 2019. You know, I'm there, we're lying in bed, Khorasan and I, you know, our typical evening routine. Laptop on. I think we were watching Netflix. And this is what's really strange, actually reflecting. And I think people can resonate probably with this. Normally, Coruscant is normally always the one who sort of turns over first and goes to sleep. It's always me. I'm the night owl that would stop sort of later and tune in. And for whatever reason, that night, I didn't. She was the one that carried on watching Netflix. And as I turned over. Everyone knows that feeling when you're still awake, you're trying to get to sleep. I was aware of Netflix still playing and Coruscant still being awake. And as I'm just lying there, literally just so randomly, out of absolutely nowhere, this very strange sensation started to spread across my body. You know, a vibration. And it wasn't painful. I was really intrigued. So I allowed it to continue until it encapsulated my whole body. It was really, really strange. And it genuinely felt like I was hovering above the bed. Like, if I. That's what it felt like. It felt like I was above the bed at that point.
And what were you seeing? I mean, were you seeing anything at that stage? Were your eyes closed?
Great question. I was sort of like. It's really hard to. I was like in the vibration, if that makes sense. I wasn't separate from it. I was. I was. I was aware of it and very intrigued. And I think reflecting back now, because I wasn't scared, because I was intrigued, I allowed it to continue. And I do wonder now if I reflect back and we will talk about how that can sabotage manifestation, actually, because this, you know, relates that I allowed it. I surrendered into it because it wasn't painful. And then it changed. And then it went from that to a very, very high ringing in both ears simultaneously, at the same time, piercing. And then there was silence. So I was in this sort of very strange, like, vibrational state, sort of like. Like almost like, what's next? And then. And then I heard, like, a voice. And it sounded like from the opposite end of, like, a sports hall, getting closer and closer. I remember sort of like trying to tune in and, like, listen to what that was. And then as it got closer, I heard the voice say, matt, Matt, it's Mom. Can you hear me? And, you know, my mum passed over 18 months before now. You know, look, my mum, you know, she was from Essex Here in the uk. So the very distinct accent, very distinct Southern. And, you know, I hadn't heard that voice in 18 months and was blown away. And I, I really wish I could remember that, what we said next. But it was more of sort of this sort of like, is that you, Mom? Like, you very like just slap in the face. I couldn't believe it. And as I started to talk back, Coruscant, still being awake, of course, was like, matt, who are you talking to? I think she was wondering whether I was talking to her. And she sort of nudged me. She, I remember, like, her nudging me and, and that nudging sort of like got me out of that state. And as I turned to Coruscant to tell her and then sort of almost wanted to turn back and tune back in, she'd gone, my mom. And yeah, so that was the, the start of it because. Made me ask these deeper questions, like, well, hang on a minute. I was, I was awake. I wasn't dreaming. I had a conversation with my mom. I, I, I've never spoken to a medium like this in that capacity. You know, I need.
And you said you weren't spiritual before then?
No. So this was like, yeah, in the, I suppose, if you can say I was in the phase of figuring myself out, but I was nowhere near. I didn't know what manifestation was. I didn't know what spirituality was. And from there, and we can go into it, that was the start of asking these deeper questions because I'm, I have to. My nature is to understand how things work. So initially, even though, of course I wanted to connect with my mom again. And I remember actually for a week going to bed the same time, going deliberately to sleep before Coruscant and waiting for it to happen again. And that's actually now become the bedrock of all I teach, that wanting equals lack. And that was like one of the starting points for me that, oh, like the first time I didn't want it to happen. I didn't. It just happened. Whereas these subsequent evenings I'm trying and it's not happening. And, and that in a way sort of led me to then go deeper about, well, hold on a minute. Then, you know, what did I speak with? Because she's still here. I've just had a conversation with her. So where is she? What is that?
You know, and that's, yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, that, okay, so that was a start. And then you, you had a, A, it sounds like kind of miserable career in real estate from your descriptions. And just, you Talk about. In fact, I'll talk about your course. I mentioned that before we started. You have this amazing, like, so beautifully displayed course called Evolve on Manifestation and Meditation. We'll get back to that. The connection between the two. But I just want to give a shout out because you present the material so beautifully, and it's in a format that really makes it easy to follow. Just. It's a great user experience. But you talk about how just before she died, she imparted her wisdom to you, essentially, to live your best life and not be chained to the desk and to travel and so forth. So there were some. It sounds like some pretty profound seeds planted. And as you describe, she was essentially saying, don't do what I did. Don't work in the corporate grind. Wait to do it all till you're middle age, because it may be too late.
Yeah, yeah. Thank you for reminding me that. It's exactly what happened. So when she was in a hospice at the end, you know, she was given two weeks to live, and she ended up living free, 18 months with sort of, you know, she had brain cancer, bone cancer, breast cancer, bless her. So she. She battled, and at the very, very end, Coruscant. And I went to my wife and I went to see her, and, yeah, she turned to me, she said, look, you know, go and live your best life. I remember her saying, laugh, smile, travel, you know.
Yeah.
Only when you're in my position will you realize how precious sort of life is. And, you know, she worried. Her whole life, she worried about money. And, you know, interestingly, for the. In her life, I remember telling me, you know, she always chased money. She always, like, felt tied by, you know.
Right. The not enough story. Right.
I. The paradox. I always remember this, like, it never really sank in. But she said, I'm. I'm the most abundant I've ever been right now, like, literally on her deathbed, because for the first time in her life, she let go of, like, money and she surrendered completely because the, The. The most important thing in that moment was just like. And she knew it was the end. So it was just like, loving what was left. And, and, and it's so interesting now, just like, money was coming to her from, like, random sources. So I never really put that together. But, yeah, so she. She planted those seeds and that's what. For a year, I remember feeling very unfulfilled. And then In September of 2018, about a year off, just over a year after she died, I was under a lot of stress at work, still with her thoughts ringing in my mind about, like, you know, my life. And it was in a reflexology session that was recommended for me to just relieve some pressure and stress that the therapist said to me, so, Matt, tell me who you are. And I said, I'm 26 years old. I'm a real estate agent. I'm the youngest manager of my company. And he said, no, I didn't ask what you did for a living. I asked who you are. And I didn't know how to answer that. And that period, few of us do.
Right? I mean, it's like the obvious question to ask and just, like, the obvious thing to do. Smile, laugh. Right. And yet we're. And we'll come to the 95% of our unconscious minds that are the driving the bus. Right. But. Okay, so go ahead. So he asked you who you are, and you didn't have a great answer. Ready?
No, I explained the character, you know, the avatar, what I did for a living. And he said, no, I didn't ask that. I asked who you are. And I was like, wow. Like, no one's really. Like, I did. I just remember, like, realizing what it was like. I use this analogy recently. It's exactly. It was like, imagine an astronaut is in a suit to. To keep the person safe. And the astronaut, the spacesuit is what I think most people identify with, like, the avatar, the outside. Like, it's what keeps them safe. And I had this realization that there's someone behind the suit that is the person inside and, um, behind the shield behind the suit. Who is that? And that was like, the eye in all of this. Like, oh, I am. I am not a real estate agent. Yeah, I'm not the suit. Who is. Who is Matt? Who is this person that's working this job just to sort of impress his father, you know? And it was that period from the September 18th to then the February 2019, when I connected with her, that I was in that phase of, like, figuring out who I was. Still not spiritual, I suppose it was a start, in a way, but, like, in that phase, and I think actually, like, I do a lot of reflection now, but it was setting the stage for alignment, for resonance, in a way for her to then be able to tune in, because that's.
She.
She somehow did that. She tuned in to me. I must have been in a receptive state then in February 2019, for that to then occur. And, yeah, that sort of led me to. To this point. And then, of course, bringing this back to manifestation, you start figuring out, well, okay, well, firstly, then if. If I've just connected with something that I can't see. What is, what is, what is what I can't see. And then that was breaking just physical structure down to its purest form, you know, atoms, subatomic particles. And then I was more intrigued about like, you know, below that, like, the quantum level, not the classical structure. And. And then that was the sort of realization that there are these quantum fields, unifying fields of energy that, wow, represent like 99.9 of like, reality. And. And it was going through that lens, like the quantum route, that I then started hearing this term of like, vibration and energy. And. And that's when, of course, you start hearing like, about manifestation. And it was like, in seriously, it was so second nature. It was so easy for me to understand manifestation, that point, it's so easy for me to start manifest because of the alignment with my mum and then trying to connect with her again. I absolutely knew in that moment, like, how I could connect with anything that I wanted and bring it in.
Well, what's amazing to me, as a relatively new but very passionate student to manifestation, I did a week with Joe Dispenza, I know he's a mentor of yours in Dallas last year. And it was like, oh, my God, mind blown and just you know, really on the one hand, a little bit new. And yet I'm so type A. Like, I'm like, okay, I'm all in. Like, I couldn't be more into it. And it is, it is amazing to me now learning from you, learning from Joe and just connecting the dots, how, just how powerful it is. And I feel like it's. It's like this thing that had been kind of on the periphery for me. And it's not a theory. It's like you have to show up and do the work. And when you do, it is totally transformative. Right? So that's why I wanted to talk to you, because I was like, oh, my God, look at Matt with this huge following and helping so many people figure that out. And look, you know, looking at your website and your Instagram and your own lived experience, I mean, listening to you talk about, you're like, I, I barely work. I have the greatest life. I'm like, oh, my God, look at that guy. And you're, you know, and your, your purpose is so clear and you're helping so many people. So just, you know, kind of to set the stage here a little bit. Everybody's experience, manifestation is different. What you want and, and desire in your life is going to be different than me. And different from everybody. But I just do want to give that kind of that. Not a disclaimer, but just like that message up front. You know, I feel like people can think of this stuff as hard and takes a long time. And, yeah, the longer you do it, the deeper and richer and more amazing it can be. But I do feel like you can start to see results and more importantly, feel results early on. So, you know, if. If somebody listening is new and just like, oh, I got to check it out. Matt's course evolve is amazing for that, but let's dive in. So just to give people a taste of what you teach and what you feel like is most important. I am going to say I was listening to one of the earliest modules as I was driving with my son. He's a teenager, and, you know, I love to talk about this stuff with him. So I was glad I had him captive in the car. And you started. You were talking about the three brains, which I want to come back to. And that bit about the 95% of our unconscious, of our minds is unconscious. And until we can tap into that, we're going to continue to continue with the same narrative, continue with the same lack. Continue with the same even maybe sense of imprisonment, if you will. So will you just talk a little bit about the. You know, I just feel like that's so foundational. Like, I don't think anybody can argue with that brain science. So I just. I'd love for you to talk about the three brains. And I hadn't heard especially the third brain, the cerebellum, being more of a, like, soul representation. So I'd love if you could talk about that. And then I'd love to go from that 95% into why meditation is so key and how that opens the door. Again, it's not theory. Like, you gotta like, folks, if you do the work, extraordinary things are gonna happen. But if you just watch, it's gonna be a lot less effective.
Yeah, of course. Great. Yeah. So I think, firstly, let's unpack that. For anyone listening, the good news is you're in a state of manifestation right now. And that's the twist that I really aim to give with this work. That it's not some secret formula to, you know, that's sort of reserved for the elite or that you have to read sort of ancient scripts. Like, we're always in a state of manifestation, firstly. But, you know, most people are doing it unconsciously. You know, they're not consciously manifesting. And therefore people seem to manifest the same patterns in their life. Like, how many times you hear people say, like, I keep running into the same problems or the same. Same relationship, you know, so we're always in that state. And my job really is to help people switch that and consciously manifest, you know, everyone's aware of, like, very strange coincidences, synchronicities, phenomena that happens. Like, you know, you're thinking about someone and then they phone. You're thinking about something and then it's on the radio. Or, you know, you keep seeing like, synchronistic numbers, like 1111, 1111. And most people don't realize that they're creating that firstly, you know, so we'll talk about that. But yeah, the brain.
I get really excited anytime I see 11:11. I'm like, snap. I'm the creator of my thoughts and feelings and I'm the master of my extraordinary life. So, yes, I love that.
Yeah. You know, so we can go really deep. But, you know, firstly, so people understand. I. I'm actually skeptical with. And it's healthy to be, because I think the. That then leads to the bigger questions, the science, and then that demystifies the mystical for me, you know, so it wasn't enough to just add connected with my mum. What was enough was going, oh, okay, now I understand how that works. So the three brains, you've got like the neocortex, the frontal lobe. It's the seat of the. Of your decision making. You know, you. You decide you want to change your life, you want to get creative. That's the. That's the thought. That's the. That I want to earn more money. I want to change my life. Like me, I want to listen to what my mom said and go and create my best life. But then we have this huge chunk, you know, we have like the limbic, which is like the emotional brain, which is the storehouse of our programming. Habitual state of being. It's what's running the show. And that represents about, like, you know, that and the cerebellum, about 95% of who we are on average.
So, you know, that's using the iceberg analogy. That's below the waterline. So above the waterline is that 5%. It's the neocortex. You and I are talking right now. I'm going to go and have breakfast after this. Like just kind of running our, you know, that executive functioning. That's the neocortex, 5% of what we are conscious of.
Okay, Right.
So that's teeny tiny.
Teeny tiny. Yeah. So it's sort of like, you make a decision to change, and then like, you run into like, why is it not happening? And it's because the 95% is what defines you subconsciously. So what people have said to you through repetition over your years, you know, the first seven years of your life, for example, are only in like theta brainwave. So you're pro. It's like a sponge. You're being programmed, you know, so why that's important is because firstly, you need to understand what your programming saying about how you about yourself. You know, you've got to really become that scientist. And we'll go really deep with this. But the reason that's so powerful is because you can have all the conscious will or intent to manifest, but actually what is manifesting is the subconscious. So that's why people, they go, I want more money. But then they manifest more debt or, you know, unexpected bills. You have to align that storehouse with, with the conscious, with the neocortex. Now people go, well, how do you do that? And there are really two ways to reprogram that storehouse. And the first way is obvious, and that is that every single day, we all do it. We all go into the storehouse, the subconscious, when we sleep. You know, everyone listening to this right now, unless they lay on a couch relaxing, will be in beta brainwaves. And that's the where the outside world is more real than the inside world. You know, we're focused on. On what's going on outside of us. And we're very much in that sort of analytical part of our brain, the conscious mind. But beyond that, there is the programming that's keeping the autonomic nervous system running by itself. When we slow down, we slow, the brainwaves slow down. And that first layer is called alpha brainwaves. And the very terminology of daydreaming, if you think of what daydreaming is like, I always imagine, like being in class, for example. One minute you're focused on like, the teacher. So that's the day. Because the day represents the outside world, the day. And then the next minute, even though you might be staring at the teacher, you're like, you're now dreaming about, like, what you're gonna do later.
Yeah. You find you're kind of not paying attention. You're like, wait, what happened?
Yeah, what did they just say? So, so that there is. Because you're in a relaxed state, you're in class, you know, you've got not going to go anywhere for an hour. So your brain waves are flickering between beta and alpha. Beta and alpha. Beta and alpha. So then as soon as you're in, like, the dream, which is alpha, the first level of the subconscious, you. The inside world starts to become more real than the outside world. Now, what separates the conscious mind with the subconscious mind is the analytical. And the analytical is in between beta and alpha. So if you transcend the analytical, you're in the storehouse of, like, your memorized programs and paradigms. Now you go deeper still and you get to theta. And theta is where you're highly suggestible. The body actually now doesn't know the difference between reality and a dream. And I always say this. We've all experienced having a nightmare. You wake from a nightmare, and initially you think it was real until you go, oh, it was a dream. But why is.
Yeah, yeah, your body is physically reacting. I mean, I've. I've had some bad nightmares where I'm like, literally screaming, yeah, what's happening? Yeah.
And then you realize it was a dream. So, you know, in that state then that your body is literally taking orders from the brain so that the body genuinely is, like, preparing you to run, like, you know, in a nightmare. So we get into theta deep sleep. And then there is delta, which is deep.
Let me ask you about Theta real quick, because I've had. I actually did a great breathwork class just recently, and I found. I kind of found myself being this, like, freaky deaky, like, dreamlike state where I definitely, like, I wasn't nodding off. I mean, believe me, I've meditated where I'm like, oh, I'm falling asleep. Like, but it wasn't that. And I've experienced it, you know, a number of other times where it's almost like it's. I mean, I haven't been on a proper psychedelic trip, but it's what I would expect a psychedelic trip to be like. I mean, at least for me, it's like kind of in this weird dreamlike state where I'm not super conscious. But it's like, okay, this. This is really different. Is that likely a theta experience that I'm in?
Yeah, you just disconnect from the avatar, is what I would say. Like, I use the term avatar because I like, you know, I genuinely believe it. The avatar is just like, you know, what. What we've been programmed to believe we are. And when we get down into theta.
Is that ego is avatar ego, would you say?
Yeah, that's how I would determine how.
I would identify myself. I'm Andrea. I'm wearing a blue sweater, blah, blah, Blah.
So there's two things that can happen when you're done in Theta, you know, firstly, you can become aware of like, the programming and what's coming up. But secondly, for me, like, the deeper you go, the more you detach from ego and the more you detach from like that avatar, and the more you become the person in the spacesuit rather than the suit. And, you know, so from there then you become what's called like pure, pure awareness, pure consciousness, you know. You know, if anyone's trained in transcendental meditation like I have, you know, you get given a mantra and really what you're doing is transcending the, the, you know, the, the busyness of, of beta brainwaves down to the seabed and down at the seabed, which is really like the unified field. You know, you're, you're down deep in like Theta and Delta. So yeah, you're right. So down there, two things and then.
Hang on. And then. Sorry, I, I interrupted. So it's beta, alpha, Theta, and then Delta. Is, is it actually sleep or can Delta be another form of consciousness?
You can, it's just very, there's like very slow activity there. So you, you know, a lot of people, you can train to get down there, you know, in meditation, but a lot of experienced practitioners can get down to Delta. It just means that the body is almost, and even in theater, the body's almost in like a sleep like state, especially in Delta. But you can become aware of the fact that you're still aware that you're in this body, you know, that's, you know. So, yeah, so to answer your question, it, yeah, it feels dreamy. But you, you take control. You can, you can then orchestrate the show, you can then meditate from down there, and you can then dream up a scenario as awareness towards, let's say, whatever it is that you're wanting to manifest. But you, you play it out. You create like a mind movie with where you're playing and you're rehearsing a scenario where that life that you seek's already manifested. Now what's powerful about that is, of course, the body reacts emotionally as if it's already a reality because it's doing the same as it would do if you were having a nightmare. And then the chemistry there is powerful because of the brain and the heart sync. And that creates like real balance, real harmony, real coherence, as they say. And you just become even stronger. Now down there, though, if, if, if there's some programming about money being scarce, always struggling for Money. But you're now down there visualizing being abundant. You're then rewriting a program, you know, and that's what's really powerful, because the more you do that, you actually rewrite those subconscious blocks about yourself.
Well, totally. And that said, you explain it so beautifully how. How it's getting into alpha and ideally dipping into theta, that you're able. That you're. You're able to get in, you know, kind of below the waterline of the proverbial iceberg, where the action is. Right. Because I'm. Like I said, I'm super type A. I can will myself to do anything. Oh, that's a lot of work, right? Versus saying, let me. Let me find a path that is maybe not linear, that is easier and that, like you were talking about, even with money and lack that, potentially, without doing that kind of deeper work and reprogramming that 95%, it's just a lot harder to, you know, to be in that successful manifestation mode. I mean, we're products of all that conditioning like you were talking about and programming that's hard to come over, overcome, I should say, with just pure, sheer willpower. Right. So manifestation is key. So meditation is key, according to you. And I've. I've experienced it, too, to a successful manifestation practice.
Yeah, yeah. And I think I'm in agreement. You know, when you hear this for the first time, you think it's a lot of work. You know, it could take half an hour to an hour to get down into those deep states. And you could think, oh, you know, how am I going to fit this into my busy life? But then what I'm about to share will make you think twice. Because the first question I always say to people is, you know, do you believe that your thoughts have some form of an impact on your reality? Do you, Andrea?
I do. I know it.
So did you wake up this morning and consciously mentally rehearse your future? Not as well as I should have. You know. So then, like most people agree, I usually do, of course, but, you know, so firstly, if you do believe your thoughts have some form of an impact on your reality, you should be rehearsing every day as if it's already first question. Secondly then is when we go deep into, you know, quantum mechanics. I won't go too deep here, but, you know, I always use this. It's called wave function collapse or collapse of the wave function or the observer effect. You know, there's loads of experiments that prove this. But, you know, on a quantum level, like I said, if you, if you break down any, anything of our 3D physical world down to its purest form, like I said, you get down to subatomic particles, electrons, photons, for example, and.
They, well, and that, just to underscore that, I mean, as a practical matter, we are, we are 99.9999% energy. And it's like, okay, I believe it. And I mean, I just think of where, where there can be some skeptics, and rightfully so, right? Not, you know, not, not dunking on the skeptics, but I think of before, was it Magellan that circumnavigated the globe first? Hello, flat Earth, right? I mean, that's, that's what we thought, right? Because that's, that's what we saw and felt. And before Copernicus, the Earth was at the center of the universe, right before, I think it was Niels Bohr discovering subatomic particles. So I, I, I just emphasize this out of the gate because, and I want, I want you to talk about your radio analogy. I love that, you know, kind of dialing into the right station. We don't see radio waves, but we love it when we're able to tune in and listen to a great show or whatever. So I just want to emphasize this whole business of us being, genuinely being predominantly, by a huge margin, energy, and that that energy can be impacted by what you're talking about. And again, for the skeptics, I mean, these historical references. Everybody thought Copernicus was crazy. Didn't he die? I'm not a really great historian, but I get these little anecdotes. It's like, yep, he proved what everybody said was wrong. And it feels like we're kind of at this turning point in our society where the kind of work that you do and teach that it is getting to that critical mass of people going, oh, wow, holy smokes.
So let's talk about it, because this is going back to the wave function collapse and what you just said. You know, atoms are 99.9 invisible fields of energy. The only part of the atom that's physical is the subatomic particle, the photon, the electron. Those photons, those electrons, those subatomic particles pop in and out of existence from quantum fields, right? So those quantum fields, I like to refer to that as the universe, for example. So that field of energy is infinite. There's an infinite amount of energy there that's always in a state of movement and vibration. Now, what I'm interested in is how does that energy, that field turn from energy to Turning into that particle. And that's called the collapse of the wave. So the energy is the wave, the particle is matter. And in many experiments, what turns the energy into, into the particle is observation. Is observation.
Is observation.
Okay, yes. So when scientists are setting up experiments, whether that's observation through human consciousness, or.
Even.
Like cameras looking at these, it's observation. The moment observation is taken away, the wave function doesn't tell us.
And so can I just take a little time to interpret that? So by observation, is that, is, is that consciousness? By, by a human being being aware of it? Is that, is that what you mean?
Okay, yes. Free will, consciousness. So observation. So I like to refer to the person in the spacesuit as the observer, the consciousness, the awareness, the witness, that thing that is what, what is collapsing the wave. So if physical reality is created through the collapse, then we have to remember that our observation at all times is collapsing the wave. Now here's the thing. Most people's observation is programmed subconsciously. So they're subconsciously collapsing the wave. And that's why people manifest unwanted outcomes which are actually aligned with their deeper belief system. So that was one.
That's. And that's back to the Vi. You know, and I. Let me just jump in and ask, because you do, you do talk about the law of vibration. And actually before I jump in there, I just want to make sure I understand. So when you talk about collapsing the wave, so there's wave and particle, collapsing the wave means that consciousness is what creates matter. Is it collapsing the wave? That's what gets us into a physical form. But let me ask you this. If that's the case and 95% of our mind is unconscious, how does that track? Right? Because it's like if I'm unconsciously collapsing the wave, then how, you know what I mean? Like I'm trying to figure out how does that work? And I don't want you to over.
Though they're even separate from the program, are they? You know, so, so that's the first thing. The, the first thing is to recognize that you're separate from the programming right now most. What about the saying, slipped by my awareness, slipped by my consciousness? You know, the consciousness is programmed subconsciously. It's not aware. So the mo. You have to become firstly aware that if, if you, if you become, if you're, if you're, if you, if you're aware that there's negative self talk, who's the one listening to it? Well, that's you. That's this person in the suit that's the awareness. That's the observation. So the moment you distinguish separation is the moment you reclaim your power because you can reframe and reprogram the dominant programming. Now, if you're not aware of that separation, that that consciousness is just intertwined. So then you are. You do believe you. I am not worthy. I am broke. No one loves me. That is the observation, isn't it?
Yeah.
Until you recognize this separation between the programming and the awareness. Now, the moment you recognize the separation and you steer the ship towards the other way, towards going, I am loved, I am abundant. You know, things always happen to me. Then you wait because people then go, matt, you're not going to believe it. This happened because they've collapsed the wave towards. And this is why a big part of my work is that I say the universe always says yes. And really what I mean there is that, you know, look, we have free will. So our free will dictates that if we want to say to ourselves every day no one loves us or that we're broke, like that's your free will to say that no one's going to come in. And, you know, that's you. So the reason I say the universe loves you unconditionally, or you, you know, it will always say yes, is if you say, I want more money. I'm broke. I just want a bit more money to change my life. What you're observing there is the wanting, right? So then you're collapsing the wave and you're actually manifesting more experiences of wanting more money.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. No, it makes total sense. So talk about, if you will, the law of vibration. Because I feel like this is really fundamental to. To being. Being in a different vibration that matches and that is inextricably linked to the future self, which I love that exercise, the meditation that you do. So will you talk about one or both of those?
Sure. So firstly, energy is always in a state of movement. And that movement's called vibration, you know, and the speed of that vibration creates frequency, vibrational frequency, and frequency carries information. So. So the speed of energy creates vibration. So like you said earlier, you know, if everything's energy, a lot of the energy we can't see with our naked eye. So there's WI FI signals, radio signals, electromagnetic. There's all types of signals or vibrations of energy that we. That we can't perceive. So, you know, if you and I, there's. There's radio signals going through our room right now. We're just not tuned into them to be able to listen to them. So, you know, if you. If everyone thinks of a radio station that they know, it's really. What is it? It's just energetic energy. It's just energy vibrating at a specific frequency, and that's called the fm, you know, and if you want to listen to that station, you can't want to listen to it because you'll never listen to it. You have to. You have to. You know, you have to tune in. So, like, if you imagine an old radio, you have to physically turn the dial.
Literally turn the dial. Yeah.
And even now, if you said to Alexa, hey, play Radio one, you gotta see that as still the tuning in. So you've got to be of that vibration in order to pick up the information.
The right signal.
The right signal.
Yeah. I mean, I often think of. Literally, for years, I've been like, oh, my gosh, I'm a transceiver, right? I'm taking in signals and I'm sending out signals. And how I can do that is either awesome and intentional or below, you know, kind of dipping below the proverbial waterline with. With my iceberg analogy. And, you know, unconscious. Right. So the idea is to. To make the unconscious conscious, to reprogram so that you can get to that. You know, if I want to listen to Guns and Roses all day long, you know, proverbially, it's like, all right, I gotta. I gotta tune to that. To that station.
You're. Yeah, you're a radio station yourself. And you. You know, the Heart Math Institute did this incredible research where they were able to somehow determine that the heart is 5,000 times more powerful than the.
Oh, is it 5,000? Yeah. I actually interviewed Debbie Rossman just last week. The CEO of HeartMath. Yeah. Unbelievable.
I mean, like, unbelievable, the work they're doing, right? And, you know, they're 5,000 times more powerful than the brain, you know, so. So what does that tell you? That you can have all the conscious intent from. From. From your brain, but, you know, you've got to really align the body and. And that's why, you know, you hear Dr. Jodi Spencer say you have to have a clear intention and an elevated emotion. It's. You know, everyone says it in different ways. It's just a thought and a feeling. You know, you've got to align really the way I say, you've got to align mind and body, you know, you've got to do. And if you do that, then, you know, you've got a greater collapse, is how I say it. You have a greater ability at Collapsing the wave, you know.
So talk about that. Yeah. Will you talk about the. Your future self? Because I feel like ultimately that alignment which I've experienced so profoundly in my own life. And again, that's why I'm so grateful for your work and getting the chance to learn more and go deeper with you. Will you talk about just that back to I want more money versus I am somebody who is now attracting more money. Right. What is that? And how do you go from kind of A to B?
So firstly, everyone, most, not everyone shouldn't say everyone. A lot of people over complicate manifestation because they're thinking too far out. The amount of messages I get about, you know, I want to be a millionaire and you, you know, and this and the other. It's so far out from their current state. Even the Monroe Institute, world famous for studying consciousness, said that, you know, if it's too far out from your existing reality, you can have a, you know, it can dislocate it. And it's true. So firstly, whenever I manifest, I really try and stick to about 12 months out. You know, you shouldn't really think about time anyway, but time's good in this situation when you're getting started. You know, I talk about wanting being the problem, but you've got to start in lack to get clear on what's missing. So I like to go 12 months out in my head, firstly from where I am. And I like to sort of say to myself, well, okay, if the, you know, if the unified field's infinite, then you know, scientifically, especially if you bring in the many worlds interpretation. For example, there is a version of Matt. There's an infinite amount of mats that exist out there. So I sort of start with like, who do I want to be? You know, and I, I, I map.
I just want to say that, like, who do I. I feel like that's so foundational, right. Because I think there's so much misinformation around manifestation and the secret, like getting the stuff. Right. But what you talk about it is who you want. You can't get the stuff without knowing who you want to be. Because that, that's your transceiver, right? That's, that's you fundamentally ver, you know, versus your Lamborghini or your Birkin bag or whatever.
Yeah, because it's your being, your state of being, your personality, how you think, feel and act which attracts. You attract what you are, not what you want. You know, that's again, the core, core message I have. So, you know, don't start with what do I want to have? Because that. That's, you know, stuff you got to figure out, who do I want to be the personality? Like, who's that person? So I get clear on that. And then I say to myself, I'm.
Sorry, I feel like I keep interrupting you, but break that down a little bit more. I mean, when you say who I want to be, you know, are you saying it's. I mean, I've got my own interpretation, but I mean, fundamentally, it's like I think about my own life. Somebody who is in service to people, somebody who is joyful, who is wise, who is abundant. Right. So it's. It's. Those are the kind of qualities that when I think about who I, you know, somebody trustworthy, like, all those things, those are the kind of qualities that I've really tried to bring into my life. And is that the right approach? Right. So then I can have an amazing podcast and, you know, meet amazing people like you. But that is a kind of those traits that define who we are.
Exactly. That's, you know, it's. It's the personality. It's like, who are they? How do they. How do they show up every day? Like, what do they do? You know, how do others look at them? And, you know, it's those sort of questions that you.
Gratitude. Right? I mean, gratitude is in there. And just that feeling of like, I'm not in lack because I'm grateful. Right. I mean, and those are the things I feel like if you're. If you do your meditations and your. And you. You practice it, even just a little bit, how. How those. Those, at least in my experiences. Experience. Excuse me.
How.
How that being who I want to be, it can. I feel like it can supplant the lack and not. I mean, what I've suffered from so much. My life is not enough. Like, I'm a way, like, type A overachiever extraordinaire and that, you know, that's been the programming that I've had to overcome.
Yep, exactly. I should say when I do this exercise, first I try and get into a meditative state. I just try and detach from, like, the ego a little bit, and I ask those questions and almost allow, like, intuitive guidance to come through, you know, so who do I want to be? And then I sort of, you know, I actually, yeah, a good, good recommendation is to film yourself. Just put your phone on a tripod and, you know, talk out loud if you're by yourself, you know, and go into that medic state. And so Do I want to be? And just sit with that question for however long it takes and just, just speak whatever comes up. And then, and then what I say is then, okay, now you've got this person, right? Who you want to be. Imagine going up to them, going up to them and then get, and then you imagine in your head like you're now with this future version of yourself and stop them and say, look, I could be any version of me. I want to be you. What did you do to be you and then your future self? It's a great exercise called the be do have. But I twisted the model to take make it manifestation related. It's the best way, in my opinion, to get clear on what you want. And then, you know, the future self will say, well, you know, I took massive action. I got comfortable in fear. You know, I listen, I, I meditated every day. I, I, I, I, I made sure I was consistent. And you know, really sort of like, allow that guidance to come through of like the big step. Because intuitively we know. Because here's the thing, the same, the same awareness here now exists in that version too. So it can, it can channel through you, especially if you're in that state. So allow that future self to tell you what they. Because manifestation is not just thinking positively, right? It's thinking, feeling and acting. It's the action. Now, the action comes from what they said they did. Here's the thing, you then say, great, all right, so, you know, they've given you the advice, they've told you what they did to be this person. Now you say, as a result of doing all that and now being this person, what do you get to have? And the have is the, and allow yourself to say, you know, I drive a Range Rover and I have this huge podcast. And you know, there's nothing wrong with that. It's just people focus on the Range Rover for a feeling. Right?
Right. Yeah. The external versus the internal. Like, what's, what's driving it?
What do you have? I have a new house. I've got this global podcast. I have these subscribers. Like, I have this much money, I earn this much. I speak all around the world. Like the material things that have now. Okay, great. So now we have a blueprint. Because if today, now you start doing the things that they did as a result of doing that, you're, you'll be, you're starting to be that person. As a result of being that person, you collapse the wave and you start having the things that are equal to that state of being. Now you don't go out and try and force and manipulate these, the have aspects into fruition. That's, that's manifestation. It's the surrender. It's knowing that if you're being that person, you're aligning with these things and they're gonna, they're gonna come, they're gonna collapse. And that's really what I do. And that helps me get really clear on, on all of those aspects. Because you know, look, if you want to meet someone, if you're looking for a relationship, you know, you've got to get out there. You can't just stay in your house. You know, you've got to start. If you yourselves might, might have said, look, join that, join that yoga club that you've been seeing the signs for and you've been ignoring. Go and do it, you know, might not even be going on a blinder. It's just like, get out there, you know.
Yeah.
And.
Oh, go ahead, go ahead.
I was just gonna say like the action, think about it like this. The action, all that's doing is it's. You're co creating with that intelligence upfield. You're making it easier for it to collapse because if you just stay. Because it's all alignment, you know, if you just stay in your house, it's going to take longer for there to be a match energetically, you know, so that's, that's what the action does. It helps it, helps it speed it up.
Do you feel like that very famous book called the Secret that then was made into a documentary film or however, maybe it wasn't a document, it was a film. Do you think that actually did a disservice to manifestation? Because I haven't watched it or read it in a long time. I totally did whenever it came out, what, 18, 20 years ago, I can't remember when.
2006.
Okay. Yeah, it felt like it was all the rage and it felt very, I mean my recollection, very passive versus what you're saying is you gotta be really active. But even before you're active, you gotta be really clear. Right. But those two go hand in hand.
So my, I've got a, my, my book's huge manifestation of mine. I signed with Penguin, Penguin Random House last year and my book's been published later this year and. Oh my God.
Congratulations. What is it called?
That's a secret. That's.
Okay. Well, come back on the show when it's ready to be revealed.
We'll do round two.
Congratulations. That's awesome.
But I can tell you what it's about, it's one step beyond the secret. It's really helping people understand that they have to. There's something beyond this state of lack, this wanting that people are in. You've got to get beyond that. And that's the true essence of it. So the secrets. No, I think it's great because it was the first sort of thing that really propelled manifestation and like, it woke a lot of people up. I think where it went wrong a little bit is it's. A lot of people thought it was like a lot of positive thinking and, you know, but there's a lot more than that. You know, there's the alignment of the subconscious, that deeper programming that we've spoken about, and the. And the action as well. You know, I'm not going to deny, like, getting here right now, like, required me to lean into a lot of fear, like get on camera, do public speaking, you know, all those things that if my programming would have just said, you know what, Matt, you're very comfort your office, you know, you don't need to. You don't need to do that. And that's what holds people back, you know, and that's why, in a sense, if you just read the secret and don't take action or don't try and reprogram, you're manifesting just from the 5%, you see. And that's. That's in a way, how I interpret the secret a little bit. Yeah, you know, it's. It's aligning the 95% as well, which is the.
Yeah. And I. I mean, I even think about just, you know, the. The having the clarity and. And visual, you know, we know visualization so powerful. But what's been apparent to me for some time now is not just visualizing, not just seeing. And I tell my. My son's a great tennis player and athlete and all these things. I'm like, okay, visualize the ace. But then feel how good it feels to ace your opponent every time. Right, that, that, you know, and you talk about this too, that connecting what you want, what you want, you know, in that case, an ace. But don't just visualize it. Feel the feeling. So you're priming your body. And it's amazing how. I mean, it may take a little practice, but it's amazing to me. And I think that's why, in part, meditation is so important to kind of open that proverbial door to then being able to go, oh, yeah, I can actually, even though I'm not able to, or whatever analogy we're using in lack. But I can more readily get to a feeling of, oh, it feels so good. I actually just did a TikTok the other day about how I've become such a better skier because I'm using these techniques. I mean, it's a trivial example, but it's like, oh, yeah, I visualize skiing on a black. On my edges. I feel it. And then just last weekend I was up at Breckenridge and my son was like, mom, you actually beat me down. And it's never happened before. Right, but that, But I. So I just, you know, and it's just something that I. I think back to. Well, and even you talk affirmations to. Why can affirmations sometimes be bad? Because it feels like these are kind of connected.
So, firstly, the feeling. Just, just for people to understand, you know, if you want to know your point of attraction, then just look at how you feel. You know, your feeling dictates your point of attraction very, very simply. And if you can get into a meditation and rehearse your future, you know, drop into your body and say to yourself, how does this feel right now? Like, what does this. What does this manifestation feel like in my body? What is the sensation? What is the tingling? And just try and take. Screenshot is sort of the analogy I use. Like, try and say to yourself, can I. Can I, like, remember this? Can I remember how this feels? And then can I then consciously, like, just tune into that feeling through the day in meditation, when you're really able to tune into that future. And I do say to people, write a script. Don't go into a meditation not knowing what you're going to rehearse. Go into it and know what you're going to rehearse. I want to talk about Michael Phelps in a moment, actually. And, you know, when you're in that, when you can really visualize it and feel it, just drop into your body and say to yourself, can I take a screenshot of this? Like, what is what. What does this feeling actually feel like in my body? What are the sensations? And can I. Can I remember this? Because I can. I remember my manifestation. And then if. The more you do that, you can tune into it through the day, which is. Which is really powerful. Firstly. And then just talking about Michael Phelps and why it's so important to have, like, a script. 2008, the Olympic final, butterfly, 200 meters. He is a huge one for visualization. His coach, Bob Bowman, gave him a book as a kid on, like, relaxation and mental rehearsal, and he. He would Rehearse in meditation hundreds of times a race. So by the time he got, like, ready to dive in, he swam it hundreds of times. He dives in 25 meters into that 200 meters. His goggles start filling up with water and they break. Now most swimmers would sort of stop. I'm done. You know, I can't swim the rest of the race. Because he'd swam it two hundreds of times in his mind. He kept his eyes closed and his body now subconsciously knew how to swim that race, and he swam the 200 meters. Now, what's amazing about it is he set personal best, he won the race, set a new world record. So I went blind. So that shows the power of, like, mental rehearsal. And you know why that's so good. Now moving on to affirmations. To answer that question, I think firstly, affirmations is something you should do every day because. Yeah, I should say consciously do every day because everyone's affirming every day. The thoughts that go through your mind are affirmations. You know, I'm not good enough. No one loves me. I've never got any money. You know, they're affirmations.
I have so much to do.
Blah, blah, blah.
I have to.
Yeah. Where people go wrong with affirmations is they're too complicated. There's too many of them. Just, just, just stick to like five or six that are very tailored, very aligned with that future that you repeat every day. And using I am statements, you know.
Yeah. What are some? Either that you use or that you recommend people use that, you know, that.
Are pretty standard every day in every way, only good things come my way. For example, every day in every way is a great one. So every day in every way, fun and exciting opportunities flow my way. You know, every day in every way, golden opportunities come my way. You know, so. So I like. I like the everyday in every way. And then I like to use I am. You know, so, you know, for example, you know, my dream was wants to become a globally recognized manifestation coach, to have this mission so every day. So beyond a globally recognized manifestation coach, admired by many, you know, so really think about the affirmations that you that are in alignment with that vision and then break it down into I am or every day in every way, and. And then fall in love with them. And. And as you like, I write mine down and then I say them out loud to myself and I just do it. It's part of my morning routine. And, you know, the second part about reprogramming is the part I Love, which is repetition. You know, it takes 66 days on average to reprogram. So if you can rewrite a. It's called neuroplasticity. You can rewrite a program just through consistency, every single day, you know, so that's why affirmations are so powerful.
Yeah, I love that. And I just. I just feel like what, you know, what supersedes that is having the clarity. And I just feel like so many people just lack the clarity. It's back to the reflexology guy asking you, matt, who are you? Right? I mean, and I feel like it's, who are you and who do you want to be? Right? And then you get, who do you have? You know, what do you have? But it just feels like back to the 95%. Like, I feel like there are a lot of zombies kind of out there working hard, grinding, you know, just, like, blunt instruments. And it's. It's like, oh, it doesn't have to be that hard. I mean, that's actually. So when I think about the value of the secret, to your point, it's like it was like this bombshell that said, folks, our minds are so much more powerful than we realize, you know. Now, were they as maybe precise in terms of explaining how it actually works? To me, no, but it, you know, being able to tap into that vast. And to your point about the Heartmath Institute, that it's. It's not just. In fact, when I was talking to Deborah, it's like, it's not just mindfulness, like the mind is powerful, but it's that tapping into gratitude, tapping into excitement, tapping into those positive emotions like you talk about. That's where you become. That's the superpower is. Is what I've experienced. And it seems like that's what you're teaching as well.
Fall in love with that future, you know?
Fall in love with that future. Yeah.
Yeah. And I say to people, especially my clients, that, you know, it's completely normal for these fears to come up and just resonate with it. You know, so many people, like, listen to their fears and trust their fears. I'm all, I'm not going to take. I'm not going to get on camera.
It's. It's, you know, it's back to that 95. And it's getting out of your comfort zone. Right. And that can be prohibitive to so many people.
If you remember the astronaut analogy, it's just keeping you safe. That's all it's trying to do. You know, the programming is, you're in A cave, you know, and you're, you're safe in the cave. And it only knows the now or the past. That's how it's created. And you know, the, the, the thought of stepping on stage, getting in front of the camera, starting a podcast, quitting your job, you know, those things are unknown. Right? And to the program, the ego, like, it. It just doesn't want to go there and resonate with why. And that's what I do. I resonate with these feelings of like, I'm experiencing that this year. Like, I've got a lot of travel and a lot of, like, talking in front of audiences with my book launch. And, And I'll be honest, like, it fills me with dread. Like, it's scary because I'm so comfortable here, like, in my lovely office. And you know, and I just, I resonate. I go, it's Matt, it's okay. It's false evidence appearing real. That's what fear is. And you know, and then I just bring it back to look, the universe, reality is 99.9 over 99.9 invisible. It's unknown. So what would I rather trust, right? Would I rather trust the knowns, which are like 0.0001% or the unknown? And the unknown scary, but it represents almost 100 of reality. And that's why the universe will always have your back. And that's why I'll always, always lean into fear. And I've never, never, ever let me down.
Oh, that's awesome. Yeah. No, I think you're absolutely right that it. Unless you're willing to change and change is scary, you're. It's. It's. If it's predictable, then it's going to be the same. And if you want it to be different, if you want to be different, then, you know, then you're going to have to step into the unknown and be different. Let me ask you just one or two last questions. You had this really wonderful Instagram post recently, or maybe it's pinned why you say something to the effect of you don't want to be with that is it. Oh, I feel like I'm messing it up already. The ideal person. And it got a ton of reviews. I had to watch it a few times to get it. So what can you just describe that thing? Because it resonated, but it. And, you know, and I really resonated with a lot of people. But I would love for you to explain that one.
It's one of the biggest topics manifesting a specific person firstly. And for anyone Meaning?
Meaning, like, okay, go ahead. What do you mean by that? I mean, this is mostly for single people. Or what if you're already married?
Or people that have been in relationships that have broken up. Like the biggest, hottest topic, like, trust me, in manifestation, is someone wanting to manifest someone back or manifest at someone specific. I want to manifest this person.
So, and, and by that do you mean, like, I want him to be 6 foot 2, blonde.
Yeah. No, most people, yes. But most people are actually attached to an actual person, you know, like this person. Yeah. So like they've either been in a relationship with them before and that person's left them and they want them back, or they've fallen in love with someone at work or someone, and they want to manifest that person.
They're like, I want Leonardo DiCaprio.
Right, well, exactly. Now, now, let's just hold that for. So I'll explain the second part to your question. So the way I answer this, firstly, because there'll be a ton of people listening to this who want a specific person. The good news is if you, if you, on a quantum level, whether you look at the observer effect and collapse of the wave function or even the many worlds interpretation, like it exists theoretically, that relationship. Now, the way the construct is created here in physical matter, reality, like the only way for us to experience anything as souls is free will. We have to have free will for cause and effect. For us to learn, we have to have the will, the free will to make decisions. Only way we'll learn. So we have to respect the fact that you know, someone, someone else has free will, you know, so someone ultimately has a choice about whether they want to be with you. But it does exist. The amount of people I've worked with, I've always said, like, I know this is hard for you to grasp, but are you open to manifesting someone better or someone as good and eventually they'll go, yes, but the reason people have a hard time in that initially is because of this. And let me ask. Answer your second question. You don't want that person. You don't want Leonardo DiCaprio.
Andrea, I really want Ryan Gosling. You're right, you don't want Ryan Gosling either.
Because what happened there, you see, is you've just realized that there's a version of Andrea that exists in your mind when you're with Ryan Gosling. And, and that's what you're attracted to. You're attracted to whatever he represents, whatever, however he's making you feel.
Huh?
And, and that's what people are missing. They're attaching themselves to something outside of them to then say, I want this person. And really they're saying that because when the thought of being with them or the past experience of being with them made them feel worthy or made them feel free or in love or seen.
And sexy.
All that really, all people really want. And this is like. I've heard no one say it this way. I'll be honest. There's all these like cringy techniques, like the pillow talk and all these methods to try and manifest someone back. And look, you know, go, go and try all that. Please do. But I like to ground it with a bit of science and truth. And that is that really. Why don't you just go manifest that version of yourself? Why don't you go and be sexy? Why don't you go and, you know. Yeah. And actually, do you know what will happen if you start being that version of yourself? You might just manifest them or someone better.
Yeah, totally.
And that's not what people do. People are living in lack of that version of themselves. They're not feeling sexy because they're waiting for that person to feel sexy. And the lack of sexiness is exactly what attracts more of that unsexiness into their life.
Yeah. And unsexy is not sexy.
Yeah.
Right.
Falling in love with yourself and saying you are sexy, you know?
Yeah. No, that explanation is so helpful. Thank you. Because it just. It makes total sense. And you know, I feel like it connecting a lot of the dots that we spoke about today. I mean, ultimately it's about who do you want to be. Right? I mean, and if you want that person, I mean, we've. I think we've all been there. You know, I've been married for a long time, but you know, before getting married, it was like, oh, like wringing my hands, you know, like, oh, is he gonna call me back? You know, like all that. All that stuff that's normal and natural and that's like so low vibe. Right. Versus, you know, the. The sexy awesome opposite. Be the person. Be the person.
Get out of this state of resistance. Because most people are actually blocking their own manifestations by being in lack. And that's resistance. It's putting an energetic shield around. Surrender in this context does not mean giving up. It means letting in. So start embodying who you are.
Hang on, say that again. Surrender is.
Is not giving up. It's letting in. Surrender is letting in. Yeah, surrender is letting the energy in. It's not waving the white flag and giving up. No, it's letting in energetically. Imagine a shield around you. Surrender is opening, allowing energy in and it's. And you can surrender very easily when you start being that person. But most people are blocking themselves and the resistance, imagine the energy is just bouncing off them because it's just a radio. Again, like you've got to align to it. So the best way to align to it is to start being it. And that is really. This work is all about like just shifting perception and like just looking at the other side and the paradoxes. And if you fall in love with the paradoxes of this work, you'll actually manifest your best life. That's really the truth of it.
I mean, amen. You're proof of that. And your many followers, like I said, I'm, I'm almost halfway through your course, have learned so much, can't wait to finish it. I'm going to have even more questions. So hopefully you'll come back on my show when you're ready to announce your book and we can keep going deeper. But yeah. What a, what a beautiful, beautiful just conversation this has been because I feel like I, I knew quite a bit. Now I feel like I understand it even better and am just that much more motivated honestly, just to keep practicing being that, that person that I want to be and using the techniques that you so beautifully teach in evolve. And congrats on your new book. I can't wait to hear about it.
Thank you. Thank you very much. No, I really enjoyed this and I think the best conversations are the, that where you can just go with the flow. And I will just say that if I can wrap here with manifestation, just, you know, have fun with this, you know, it's so much easier to manifest if you just laugh more, you know, so much easier to manifest when you just let go more, when you laugh more, when you have fun more, you know, and, and, and, and when you're in flow. And that's why every conversation is always best in flow, you know, and just stop taking it too seriously. And, and again, the paradox is that you'll, you'll find that it's easier, you know, and that is totally.
That is, I mean, that is the miracle, amazing truth. I mean I'm, I'm somebody that just struggled a lot. Now it's way more fun. I mean, like, like your mom advised you smile more. I mean, and you know, then there are neurochemicals in your heart, all the physiology. When you laugh, when you smile, getting into flow is, you know, getting into. I don't know if it's theta or what brain state or so forth. But yeah, I mean, all of these things all conspire to help you achieve that outcome, which is living your best life. Matt Cook, you're amazing. Thank you so much for being on Getting Open. I've loved, love, love talking to you.
You're welcome. Thank you so much. It's been great.
Wow. Oh, my gosh, what a amazing set of insights. There's so much that he described that just makes me understand why all this works, including collapsing wave functions. I'm like, yo, yo, yo, slow down. I'm kind of not tracking. And now I'm tracking. I hope you are, too and are that much more motivated in understanding the mechanics of how and why these things actually work and are willing to actually do the work to live your best life. And honestly, I'm right there with you folks, because that's exactly what I'm doing in my own life. And I am so glad and grateful to be able to bring this kind of material to you, these kind of incredible guests. And so with that, I'm going to wrap up. Thanks for tuning in to Getting Open. If you don't follow us on Spotify, iHeart, YouTube, wherever you get your podcasts, please do. It is such a big help.
