How often should you update your website? It's probably more often than you think. I'm Melanie Gorman. I'm the founder of Crownsville Media. We're a content and website development company. We do SEO and all kinds of cool content for people like you who are considering updating your website. So here's what I would say. If your website is more than 5 years old, you have to take a look at it. And not necessarily because you must change it. You have to look at it to make sure that it's running efficiently. Google has rules around how quickly your pages load, how much animation can be on your page before it's confusing. And then of course, everything must be mobile friendly. Most websites that are developed today, mobile friendly is just part of the package. You shouldn't have to really think about it. But if it's more than 5 years old, you want to do a little bit of an audit and figure out if anything's broken, anything stopped working, are your plugins and the things on the back end still updatable so that you're able to prevent hacks and people getting into your website nefariously.
