When a client asks for a discount after you've made a successful placement, ask them what you did wrong. If you messed up, consider it. If you didn't, charge what you agreed to.

Imagine making a placement and then the client comes and says to you, can I have a discount on the fee? What do you do? This is what I do anyway. I just ask them, what have I done wrong? Simply put, what have I done wrong? And you ask that question almost in, like, retail mode. And just like, when you go and return something in a store, they'll ask you, you know, what, what's wrong? Or you know, can you ask? When you ask for a discount, they'll ask you, what's wrong. Same way in recruitment, if you agree terms, you've sent everything over, you've done everything properly, they're making a placement, client is happy, candidate is happy. Ask them, what have I done wrong? And if there's something that I've done wrong, I'm prepared to revisit the fee and offer you an appropriate discount. But if there's nothing wrong, then this is what we agreed, this is what we put forward, this is how we're working and this is how I'm going to be charging you.
