The Vivi Customer Experience

Teachers and students from Melbourne schools explain how Vivi wireless screen sharing improves classroom engagement and works seamlessly with their existing systems. One teacher notes it's easy to use, while students say it helps them stay focused during lessons.
Keele High School is a leading public school in Melbourne. It has a real focus on technology.
We're an independent school in Melbourne. We have two campuses now. We're in a new premises, and it was a great opportunity to put some new technology in the school.
We had people going in and connecting with wired connection to projectors and, more recently, televisions. And what we found was that this created a situation where the teacher was stuck to the front of the room.
What I love about VIVI is as a teacher, I can walk around in any space within the classroom with whatever device I have, be at the back of the room engaging with the students, engaging with the content that's on the screen.
Roaming around the classroom with VIVI is the biggest advantage for me. So there's certain, I guess, pockets of kids that are most likely not going to be engaged. They might be in one corner and they're going to pick those seats all the time. So I can stand behind them and speak to the whole class and just be with them. I can see their screen. They can see what I'm doing.
Vivi's made it easier for me in terms of study. You know, there used to be always phones out, waving around, getting pictures and notes and stuff on the board, and now can just open your laptop and get a direct screenshot of what's on the board and you've got those notes on your laptop.
We're able to go at our own pace and save each slide, and then we're able to either annotate it there on the spot and save it, or take it home and annotate it and then write up summaries or go through notes while we're studying.
I think that vivi's been able to help to capture particular areas that they're not understanding and being able to kind of pause that move on with me and the rest of the class knowing that they then can go back to it and they can come to me later with a really clear reference as to what they need help with.
It's also really easy to say to a student, you know, when they're presenting their presentations, you know, throw it up onto VIVI and I can hand them over control, and they can just present really easily.
When you're a teacher using VIVI and the students have been given permission to use the screen and get control, you still have that control in the end of what they're showing, and if they start getting off topic, you can easily kind of switch back to your screen.
VIVI has been a very seamless process. To roll out around the school. From a technical aspect, VIVI really slotted in really nicely with existing systems in the school. There was no need to deploy any outrageous servers to support the school solution. It's a fully cloud based solution.
When we got the test unit in, we had it up and running within the first sort of 10 minutes. And the quality of the video and the ease of use just blew the competition out of the water.
Those teachers that want to connect and want to do it straight away had no issue.
So I'm the least technical of all. Bat after some PD on it, it's really easy and if I can do it, anybody can do it.
We looked at a lot of solutions when we were looking for vivi. The model that VIVI used in the costing really supported our public school. Funding is always really short in public schools. Vivi with a small upfront cost and then an ongoing trailing fee meant that we were able to put it in all our rooms at once, which is a much better way to implement it. For that reason alone, I think vivi's really can be recommended for public schools.
I definitely recommend vivi. I mean, I found that across the school the staff was able to really pick that up really quickly and the students as well.
Upgrade the software. One, bringing more features and two, making sure that the three different platforms, the Apple, the Microsoft and the Android, all continually work really well.
