This is a YouTube video titled "Vivi Customer Spotlight: Zion-Benton Township High School District" featuring Sherry Bridge, the director of technology, and Zachary Livingston, the principal of the school district. They discuss the implementation and benefits of VIVI screen mirroring technology in their classrooms, highlighting its impact on student engagement, security, and instructional interactivity. The content is an informative presentation about educational technology use in a high school setting, created in July 2023.
I am Sherry Bridge and I'm the director of technology here at Zion Benton Township High School District. As the director of technology in this district, I oversee and manage our IT department and manage the use of technology in our school district. I also work closely with other administrators on technology initiatives that are going to build and develop our, you know, our school objectives and goals. So in 2020, D126 began to explore different mirroring technologies. It was decided that VIVI was going to be the best choice for our screen mirroring. And so our focus kind of shifted this year to really making sure that our teachers and our IT staff are really building up their capacity and being able to really harness everything that VIVI can do. My name is Zachary Livingston. I'm the principal here at Zion Bend Township High School. So Here in District 126, we serve an amazing plethora of students and we try to be really creative and robust in what we offer here on our campus. We love VIVI here in our building. The wireless kind of screen mirroring capabilities that teachers have in classrooms is second to none. Our students are able to engage with teachers in ways that, that avoid all of the wires, all of the connectors and HDMI plugs. Increasing response rates is one of the things that we really encourage because student engagement is extremely important. And our teachers love the fact that students are able to share their screens and teachers are able to give feedback and also to empower students to show what they're learning and what they're doing. We have about 258vivies. We have Vivies in every classroom. We're really putting that VIVI technology everywhere we possibly can. Compared to other screen mirroring technologies, VIVI really is a dynamic instructional tool. It has features like messaging and whiteboard annotating tools. It is definitely proving to be a edtech tool that is definitely rich in creating a classroom that is interactive and collaborative. One of the things that we really, really love about VIVI is that we can customize not only what it looks like, but we can also customize who has access to what. So the people who need to have access to the signage, they have access to the signage and not access to things that they don't need access to, like all of the IT parts. As we know in school systems now, security and safety is a huge component. And we've been able to use our screens and our VIVI kind of emergency notification system to let the whole building know when something's happening. That's been huge for us. And then again, in terms of just being able to fall back on teachers, being able to kind of navigate and interact with students in a different way. I think those two things are kind of like the biggest, biggest impact for us. It's pretty seamless, and proof of that is how easy it is for our students as soon as we introduce to them. This is how you can navigate and show your screen to the teacher or interact with it. That way, students pick it up really easy. It is a seamless tool, and the more you use it, the more you'll love it. Sam.
