Vivi & Video

Teachers struggle with screen mirroring in classrooms. Vivi's solution fixed video playback problems and let teachers move around freely instead of staying tethered to a podium.
We were looking for screen mirroring solution that would work when we deployed it in every classroom at a building. You know, we, we tried every solution. We could get a demo or a purchase unit from the test. We tried full scale deployments on two vendors and neither was working well. One of the things that would break for us was the playing of videos. So as soon as the teachers would play videos, we break the systems. The teachers were frustrated, the IT staff was frustrated with inconsistent performance of the products. We tried network tuning, separate VLANs and more in attempts to get to a stable and consistent environment. Then I ran into Vivie's booth at ISTE and figured, well, this is one more solution to try. You guys had a convincing argument that your solution would work. So we went back and we got a test unit and put it in place and everything was working good. So we decided that we would go forth with a trial on a full deployment in a building.
We looked into VIVI because we had a number of problems with teachers being either fixed to the front of the classroom, relying on cords to present data from their laptops, or they were using a form of mobile presentation that was just not working for them. It was either not able to cope with displaying of videos or anything with any form of movement in it, or it had other flow on effects. So we needed something that was encapsulating everything that the teacher needed to be able to present in a simple fashion, reliably. And all of the time.
One of our, the staff's favorite things was to just be able to embed video from YouTube without having any worry about ads that pop up.
The things like direct play video were extremely helpful because it basically offloads that video to the VIVI box and they can play it and they still have their computer to use, whereas they were tethered to that wire before. In fact, any other solution we had, they were sort of tethered to that so they couldn't actually use their computer.
