Qualification, Insurance & Accreditation

Okay, in this section we are going to cover the important stuff, okay? So the stuff that you actually need in order to be carrying out your learning experiences in a way that you are qualified, accredited and insured, which is not only important legally, but also important for credibility. Because if you're leading any learning experience, even if that's like an online master class that doesn't necessarily cover like prep or application, it could even be like a French Polish masterclass or an air master class, it does so much more for your credibility when you are able to A, explain that you're a qualified educator, B, explain that you are an accredited academy and that you have almost been approved as somebody who is leading these experiences. C, definitely that you are insured. Super important. And I would hope that you are insured anyway. But also alongside that, it's just the level of confidence your students are able to have with you and also the level of confidence you will have in yourself, knowing that you have ticked every box, you've learned how to do this properly and that you have everything you need, not just the skills, but also legally in place to be doing this. So even if you're somebody who's already offering courses, I still would urge you to watch this master class because it is going to give you all the important bits that you need so you can make sure you haven't missed misses anything out. Okay, so there are three steps to becoming a qualified, accredited and insured academy. And essentially they are the three steps. So I'm going to go through each one in fine detail, show you how and where you can do that, and give you a few little hints and tips along the way based on my experiences and what I've seen happen in this industry too. You can make your own informed decisions. You can take what I say with a pinch of salt. But I would not be an effective leader and educator if I didn't share my own experiences because I would hope that you can also learn, learn from my mistakes along the way and avoid making them yourself. So step one is getting qualified. So that is having. Making sure. Sorry, you have a qualification to teach. Now, the qualification you need as an educator in the beauty industry is the equivalent to a level three award in education and training. So it's called an aet. So you need a level three AET or, or the equivalent to that specifically if you are in the uk. Now this qualification also depends on where you do the course will cover you globally as well. But you just need to make sure what the rules and laws are in the country that you are choosing to educate, you might need additional licenses and things like that, but depending on the course that you do, it should be a globally recognized qualification. So you're looking for a level 3 AET or the equivalent to that. Now one thing I will say is there are so many AET courses out there, some of of them are run by government, some are run privately. And the one thing I would say is to just make sure you do your research and you choose that course for you and no one else based on what is important to you when you learn. Okay, we all learn differently. And so I'll give you an example. For me, it was important that I did my course online because I was running a busy client base at the time. I knew that this wasn't something I wanted to commit to having to actually physically go somewhere in person and do a course. It needed to work around me. I needed to be able to do it in my own time and just log in when I had the space to do so and get going with the training. Now I also wanted it to be in depth. So I didn't want to just stand there with a certificate at the end of this course and have quote unquote, a certificate, but didn't actually fully take in the skills needed to be an educator. Okay. Because there's a complete difference. There is a difference between having a certificate to educate and being an effective educator. Just as there is a difference between having a certificate as a nail technician and being an effective nail tech. Right. You and I both know that we learn so much as nail technicians, so much more along the journey. Not just what's covered in the course, but what is covered in the course is what's going to set you up as the nail tech that you are about to come and it's about to become. And it's the same when you step into education. So the course that I chose, I chose it because I was able to move through it in my own time and because it was online, it was also a globally recognized qualification. However, it wasn't industry specific and I looked everywhere for educators course that was specifically for people in our industry. So in beauty or in nails, I couldn't find it. So I ended up just doing a course where the other people on the course were people like people who did yoga and wanted to teach yoga, or there was like someone who wanted to become a swimming instructor, somebody who did, I think it was like knitting or crochet and they wanted to be able to teach that to other people. Right. So I was, although I was able to meet other people who had these goals and these aspirations and that was great. They weren't like minds that they didn't have much in common with me and my industry. And what I really struggled with at the end of the course was understanding. Like yes, you know, I know how to now teach, but what I don't know is the things like how do I set the nail room up at the start of the day in the best way for my students or what do I do if a student asks me a question about something to do with nail anatomy that I don't actually know the answer to, like actually understanding what could happen in the nail industry and also thinking ahead to like I'm about to create courses now in the nail industry and I actually feel like I don't know what I'm doing. And that was how I felt when I very first got my educator certificate. And that is not how I want you to feel. So do your research, make sure it's the right course for you. And I've got a little bit of info coming next about our educator program that we now lead at the Nail Tech Org. Because that entire experience led me to this purpose of wanting to help other educators. So much so that I ended up creating my own industry specific course as a part of the Nail Tech Org and we now run our own educators diploma. So after I've gone through these steps, I will run through our educator course, what it includes, how much it is and all of that and give you the opportunity to learn with us if that's what you want to do. So that is step one, becoming qualified and getting your level three AET or equivalent. Step two is to then get insured. So what you want to do is take that certificate to your existing insurance company who insure you as an educator, sorry as a nail tech and let them know you have now become an educator and you also want additional insurance in place for that. Okay, There are different insurances you might need, things like public liability. I actually went through it all in module one if you want to head back to that. But either way if you approach the insurer that you are currently been with, then they will give you a quote. What you can also do is go online, use the comparison websites, type in insurance as a beauty educator. It will ask you a series of questions and it will tell you what insurance you need based on Your circumstances. Insurance is so important. Do not teach one student without your insurance. I say that with my chest. I've seen terrible things happen for people who have not had insurance in place. It's highly, highly important. And this isn't. This is so much more than being a nail tech. There is enough risk in being a nail tech, but as an educator, so much more, because you're impacting more and more people, More people are involved. Just make sure that you are insured. And step three, once you are insured, once you have your qualification, you then want to get your accreditation, which is completely separate to your qualification, which is a question a lot of people ask. Okay? So these three things are three completely separate things. Your accreditation is what comes last. Your accreditation is almost like a stamp of approval from an accreditation company to say that they approve that you do have a qualification, you are insured, you do have lesson plans, and you are a registered academy. Okay? So even if your courses are online, in person, wherever they are, you still need to become an accredited academy. So this will be a separate certificate that you will get that says that you're accredited as well as qualified. Okay? So they are the three steps that you will need to take. There are many different accreditation companies, many different insurance companies, and many different qualifications that you can go for. So if you are feeling a little bit like a rabbit in headlights at this point, I always like to give you the information so that you can make your own decisions. So I just want to give you the options on a place so that you can decide what you want to go away and do. However, what I also like to do is make things easier for you. So if you would rather me just tell you what qualifications get, what insurance you need and what accreditation company, then that is what I'm going to do in here based on my own recommendations. But again, you can make your own decisions. I am not making you do anything. I'll just talk you through what most of our students, what most of our members at this point use for this. Okay? Also important to mention that with our educators diploma, I have now qualified 500 nail technicians as educators. So I know what I'm doing, I know what I'm talking about. I know how to create amazing educators, but also know how to help you through the process as you do that. So in order to become a credible academy, you can follow these three steps. But I want you to think of these three steps like your prep tools. They are an investment into your career and they provide a return, quality and reliability. Here is so, so so important. And again, I say that with my chest. I also say it from experience. So each of these things will cost you money at first. So you'll either have an annual fee for like your insurance or your predication, or you'll have an upfront fee for getting qualified. It is so worth it. However much it costs for you to get to the place of becoming an educator that is not only qualified to choose an accredited, but also so confident with what they're doing, having the best head start to that area of your career is the most important thing. So even if it is an upfront cost, just know you can make that back in a couple of students once you get going, especially if you learn how to properly price your courses, which I'm going to teach you also in this business program. So it is important at this stage that you invest properly just like you would with your prep tools. So becoming a great educator. And it also gives you the globally recognized qualification that you are looking for. So it's the equivalent to a Level 3 award in education and training. You just need to make sure that you double check the laws and what is needed in your country if you are outside of the UK and you are doing this now. Okay, so the six step blueprint is something that I teach you inside the educator program, how you're going to become an effective educator and leader. But I also incorporate three important pillars. But if you don't have the mindset to actually be able to confidently apply that and execute the strategy, then you will not get to where you want to be. So these are the three fundamentals of running a successful training academy and experience and growth. And we teach you all of them inside our Educator diploma. Now this is the journey that you will follow. So first of all, you become a fully qualified nail educator. In that process you will also develop your own teaching style. Remember when I said in the last video, this is is really a personal journey as much as it is a business one. Because we dig really deep into your story and what's important about and and specific about you so that we can use that to help you then become an effective educator. You also then look at setting up your own training academy. So I put you in the direction of your accreditation company. There is literally inside the course you can apply for your accreditation. They also help you with your insurance. So those three boxes that we looked at earlier are all covered inside this one process. And then you can also have your own courses and manuals by the end.
