Well, and again, I mean, you're saying wonderful family, wonderful upbringing, knew I was loved, grew up in the church. And yet you had these chains. Do you feel comfortable sharing what any of those were? Any of the ways that the enemy fed you lies or caused you to believe things that were not true about God or you or how to relate to others?
Well, to start off, I'm the youngest of three. My mom had a fourth child, so I would have been a middle child, but. But he only lived for two days. And part of the consequences of that loss was that my parents protected me for good and for bad. They protected me to the point where I became bound up in fear such that I could barely live. And, you know, I was a protected child. And Steve was not. Steve was. His dad left when he was 10. He basically raised his siblings. And when you bring those together, it causes an interesting relationship.
Yeah, well. And you met. Were you 16 when you and Steve met? Was that.
Yes?
Yeah.
Yes. He was 20.
Okay. And then how old were you when you got married?
Had turned. I turned 19. Well, okay, I'll step back. My dad told Steve that the only way that we could get married is if I was 19. I had graduated from college and so I turned 19 on 17 August. I graduated from college on 18 August and we got married on 20 August.
Yep. Wow, that's awesome. So, yeah. Oh my goodness. That reminds me of when my. When my daughter was wanting to date her now husband. We were negotiating about when she was allowed to begin dating and I had moved it from 17 to 18. She was our oldest daughter. Or 17 to 16. Sorry, the opposite. I'd moved it down to make it earlier, but then I found out he was 19 and so I moved it back to 17. So they joke about that year being dating purgatory and having to wait for one another. I said, even though I trust him more than I trust any other young man, I said, just by mere fact that he's that much older. I have some standards there, but what a wonderful son in law. And I'm sure your dad said the same about Steve.
