A guy moves to Syracuse unemployed and living with his in-laws when a pastor calls claiming God told him this stranger should be their youth pastor. The pastor had never met him, confused his name, but insisted the Lord had already spoken about it. He decided to show up Sunday and see what happened.

So we're driving home on a Sunday from church and we said, all right, we'll check out Northside next week. Well, four days later we get a call. At that point, we were living at Jen's parents house, right? We moved to Syracuse. I didn't have a job when we moved. I was unemployed for two months. The first month was awesome. The second month, Jen was like, you need to get a job. And so, so, so, so the associate pastor at Northside, Jeff o', Brien, calls my in laws house and asks for me. And I get on the phone like, who is this guy? I have no ide. He's super excited. He's like,
hey,
I'm Jeff, I'm the
associate pastor at
Northside. And hey, we've been praying for a youth pastor for two years. I hear you're a youth pastor and we're so glad to hear you're in the area. I was like, who are you and how did you get this number? Like, what is happening here?
No Dan here. But this is only Don. Were you calling to talk to Don?
That's right. This is Don's only
Don. Only Don's answer this number.
That's right. Where's Don when you need him?
Exactly.
You know, so. It was so crazy. That's right. That's right. I don't know what you're talking about.
I already talked to the Lord about this.
That's right. You must be mistaken. No, but it was so wild. And I'm like, well, actually, we are planning to come visit your church this Sunday.
