At 16, watching their youth pastor play volleyball at summer camp in Harvey Cedars, New Jersey, someone realized ministry could be actual work. They thought: I could do this. It looked fun.

No. You asked me what was my call to ministry. When did I know that God called me to be a pastor? So I remember in, I think it was my junior year, we were at Harvey Cedars on the New Jersey beaches for a summer camp with our youth group. And I remember playing sand pit volleyball and watching my youth pastor play with us and going, he looks like he's having fun. I think I could do this for work. Like, that was my first thought of going to youth
ministry. When this first thought hits you that you could have fun like this, if this is work, I could do it. How old are you?
Yeah, yeah, I was probably 16 or 17.

Yeah, yeah. So, yeah, so that was my first thought about, hey, I could do ministry. This looks fun. Easy. Play volleyball, sports. Yeah,
it's all we do.
