A short segment from a YouTube discussion about tactics to grow LinkedIn groups for B2B event businesses. Regan and others recommend proactively inviting your own LinkedIn connections and using outreach (including emails) to recruit members. They also describe leveraging LinkedIn hashtags—monitoring popular hashtagged posts and inviting active commenters—to capture a portion (about 20%) of engaged users into the group.

Is at the bottom of the iceberg. So I'm going to repeat that for you guys is invite your own connections. Yes, through LinkedIn, through your, through your emails and everything. But be proactively. The community manager needs to be proactively connecting with people on LinkedIn, on other groups, you're looking at competing LinkedIn groups, you're looking at sending perhaps some emails to get them to invite, to join the community or to join the group, etc, etc. Over to you, Regan. So anything else that we can hear about this? Look, there's one more kind of tactic which we're using more and more with LinkedIn hashtags. Here's a prime example. A lot of people are posting content with hashtags and let's say your community aligns with that particular hashtag. So virtual events. Virtual events, it's all over the place. You know, we will go into follow that hashtag if someone posts. There's quite a lot of engagement around a bit of content. We'll go, hey, we don't want to hijack this post, but There's a new LinkedIn community all about virtual events. Why don't you check it out and you know, if you've got posts with a lot of comments on it, following that hashtag, following that technique, you'll pick up 20% of the commenters in the group in the community. So that's another tactic that should be used often.
