Dear friends, I'm ruggierolensi. I am 56 years old and since 2017 I have been Director General of UNI, the Italian ISO member. But I joined 26 years ago as civil engineer. I was first an officer of technical committees, then technical Director and later director of Innovation. Digitalization of processes, multi stakeholder relationships, commercial aspects, creation on new standardization activities, strengthening of the brand, management of human resources. These are some of the main issues I have dedicated myself to in the past. I was also member of isotmb, an international experience that I remember with intensity. As Italian member, I follow the initiative of copant, the Pan American Standards Commission. Well, standardization is my life. A life of passion, of relationships, of challenges and visions. A life of tastes, colors, feelings and sounds. Yes, even of sounds. I know some of you remember me in the ISO band. EIZO is for me a great community. A happy place in a difficult world. A large family of people working for collective well being. By sharing experiences and solutions, EIZO brings in the international context a message of sharing ideas and moral integrity. In this context, where I have never seen lack of respect for the dignity of people and their cultural origin. Indeed, the multi stakeholder character of standardization is its own strength and uniqueness in a global level. Because great things happen when the world agrees and I feel really good in eizo, I consider myself a lucky person. I would now like to bring my experience of many years of work to the ISO Council that never, as today, must be able to represent the interests of more than 160 countries. I believe that the best solution comes from the ability to balance numbers and letters. Numbers show up the way to take the best decisions. Let us help us to relate. There are two sides of a kind, a bit like rules and values. In Uni we call it the world of what and how. In Italy, I have dedicated myself to the management base on the principle of social responsibility. Izone26000 always putting people at the cent. Ensure the sustainability of governance, economic, social and environmental of the whole organization. Management through processes and integrity are and will be the key to our future. To restart together, having learned the lesson that the pandemic has dramatically taught us. A future of people, planet and prosperity, where ISO will continue to play its part, as always, a decisive part to achieve, as Uniclaim says, a well made world.
