Sandy Carter argues that AI status symbols are shifting from access to cutting-edge models to something more exclusive: a private, personalized AI that knows your history, preferences, and thinking style. The real luxury will be context, trust, and an AI that acts on your behalf.

Hey guys, Sandy Carter. Just kind of thinking about some of the recent TikToks I saw, like a Birkin. Is a Birkin luxury anymore or not? Or is it now an experience? Is that now luxury? So something that you have to go to, maybe like ultra luxury experience at a hotel, and they give you a hat that doesn't cost that much, but you only get it if you stay in that hotel. I just had this happen to me. We went to some place and We were going home on the plane and my husband and I each had the hats and we saw 2 other couples with the hats and somebody said, hey, where can you buy that hat? And my guy goes, you can't. You have to stay at this place in order to get the hat. You have to experience it to get it. So status has really started to shift from I own it to I had access to it, right? So given I do AI, I was thinking, is AI about to do the same shift? Interesting, right? Because today I think people go around, they go, oh, I have access to this model, or I'm using this platform, Hermès versus OpenCLAW. And I think, you know, right now it's like a big deal, but soon everybody's going to have access to that. So what's going to be the real luxury in AI? And I think it's going to be an AI that knows you, knows your history, knows your preferences, knows your way of thinking, your network. And it's private to you. It's trusted enough so it can act for you and only you. I think that's equivalent to the ultra luxury that we're seeing today. It's not the model anymore. It's the context. It's the trust. It's the access that you will have. So is AI moving from something that you use to something that you accept? And honestly, I think that may be the ultimate AI status symbol.
