How A German Recruitment Agency Owner Makes 800k Through Systems And Automation

Vincent Buecler, co-founder of BaldurConnect (a Munich-based tech recruitment agency), describes how the company overcame unpredictable business development and scaling limits by automating sales, outsourcing tasks, and structuring their week. After applying systems learned in a course, they billed over €800,000 in their first 12 months, made monthly revenue more predictable, simplified hiring, and achieved a high (estimated 5–10x) return on the course investment. He emphasizes shifting mindset from recruiter to business owner and staying open to learning.

My name is Vincent Buecler, I'm the co founder of BaldurConnect and we are a recruitment agency in the tech space based in Munich in Germany. And yeah, regarding the problems that we faced actually before joining the course. So initially it was very easy for us to get our first clients. However, we soon hit the brick wall and our issue was, my co founder and I, our issue was, you know, how do we scale the agency? It was very easy to get clients on board in the initial months, but, you know, how do we sustain a bigger growth and actually feed a bigger team with continuous roles coming in? So that was one issue. I would say business development was unpredictable. Yeah, and what that meant is actually then each month becomes very unpredictable. So of course we were taught the old school way, doing cold calls, kind of old business development methods. And again, our problem was that these are very time consuming, which as business owners of course, you know, we don't have much time. So that was an issue for us. And yeah, of course we wanted a stable delivery, stable output and those were kind of the main issues that we faced initially in terms of the results that we actually achieved after working together with James. So we managed to automate our sales process, which was brilliant for us actually. So much so that we at times had to turn off our automation tools because we got too much business coming in. We managed to achieve more of a structure to our week, both myself and our co founder, my co founder. And yeah, of course we outsourced certain parts of our tasks which meant we could focus more on our day jobs and where we really bring value to BaldurConnect. And yeah, we actually managed to bill over €800,000 in our first 12 months of trading, which we've just surpassed now. And yeah, in terms kind of further results. So yeah, each month was more predictable in terms of business development, which obviously was held by the automation tools, the client attraction tools. And this also meant that we were able to plan our hiring. So in terms of growing our team, of course much easier to hire people when you know you're going to have business for them coming in. And what it also meant was that our delivery consultants no longer needed to be good at the business development because we knew automation tools were generating business development as if there was 10, 20 people doing BD. So it also made hiring easier for us. And yeah, ultimately has really helped us now into our second year, actually scaling the company in a predictable and structured manner in terms of the best takeaways from the course. So I would say the Biggest takeaway that I learned was that you need to think not as a recruiter, but you need to think as a business owner and not necessarily even a recruitment business owner, but that you can look to completely other businesses in other sectors and kind of use their strategies. How did they build a successful company? So you're really thinking as a business owner, not as a recruiter. I would also add as a takeaway that I kind of learned to be very open in during the course of this program in terms of actually, yeah. Even though I had already 10 years experience and being open, not thinking I know everything. Yeah. So I think those were kind of the two main takeaways. So I would definitely recommend this program to other people. I would say don't hesitate to invest in yourself. And yeah, purely on a rational perspective, if you look at what the course costs you and what you actually get coming back in, it's an absolute no brainer. I mean, literally, if you do one placement, you already covered your costs. And yeah, I could say we definitely have a big return on investment that the course brought us in terms of new clients. We won several placements that we did as a result of the course. So, you know, the return on investment was probably at least five to tenfold. And that's not even calculating, you know, what are the benefits that this will bring us in the long term. And finally, I would say it's actually also fun. So, you know, it was a really enjoyable journey. You're challenging yourself. So it's not just that you're getting a return on your investment, but it's actually really fun. You get to meet other people who are in a similar situation, which psychologically really helps you. So yeah, I can recommend it to anyone.
