Why you should meet your clients face to face. So I'm traveling back from Manchester today and met three potential clients. It made me realize it's very important to get across your personality when you meet people in person. Nothing can take away the fact of meeting someone in person face to face in a relationship. It really helps build it. So even if it's meeting somebody out there for a coffee or whatever, systems and automated tools can't take away the human elements. And it's really fundamental part of growing your recruitment business. One thing I've learned from when I built my agency is where I am today. It's very important for you as a business owner to make sure get out and about and meet your clients in person. There's so much that can be done on email and other ways of contacting people, but the best way to work and the most valuable way to do it is by face to face connection. Now obviously looking at different ways of converting and winning clients, there's lots of cool little strategies that you can do, but the most successful one always is meeting them face to face. The first point is always dress smart, dress well, make sure you're finding out the person that you're meeting, what sort of environment they work at in terms of culture, look them in the eye, give them a good handshake when you meet them. And I always accept when they ask, do you want a tea or coffee or whatever, I would always say yes, I'll have a tea or I'll have a coffee. Just to make it more comfortable that you're sitting down, having a casual chat with them and start the conversation, make it flow. So talk about hobbies, what you've been up to, what you like doing on a weekend, family life. Just try and build that ease of rapport. Another tip is just to be yourself. So what I've learned from many different sales techniques, what you should do and what you should say, forget all that, just be yourself. Come across how passionate you are about what you do and what you really do well. So it gives them confidence that you are that authority figure that they need. And make sure you listen, don't oversell and don't over talk. I always ask them what challenges they have, what pain points they have and where they are at the moment. Just so I can sort of understand when I present to them that we can sell back to their particular pain point or challenge that they have. People like talking about themselves. So make sure that you ask them many open ended questions how the business is doing, ask them how they started it I always talk to them about what the growth plans are and actually be interested in the response. Show that you care, show that level of engagement. Come across passionate and make sure you listen to their story. Tip number two should be confident. So be confident. When you're presenting back to a potential client and you're presenting your service or product, you must be confident that the value you can bring and the solution you can bring to them comes across. So emphasize that in your voice, the way you present and make sure that it's important for the client to come away with, wow, that was really good presentation or really enjoyed meeting James comes across that he's going to give me that extra value and go the extra mile for me to deliver what needs to be delivered. So always give value first. I always give value before you ask for money. So money follows value. So another tip is going to be always follow value with money. When I meet people in person, people are trying to sell me things or pitch things. It's important that they come across your unique person. So everybody is different in this world. Everyone has better qualities than other people. Some people have really good strengths to weaknesses. So it's important that you really play on your own individual and unique strengths. Always follow up after a meeting. So I'll always take down notes in the meeting to show that I'm listening. So I'm highly engaged and a small tip would be I would always leave a gift, normally a book. So I read a lot. I'm very passionate as you've maybe seen in my other blogs. I do a lot of personal development books and business books. So always my little golden tip is I always leave them a gift to say thank you. So I'll always consider what hobbies, what type of business they've got and what book could benefit them and I bring it along and say thanks very much for your time. I've actually brought you a little gift. It might cost five to ten pounds, but it's a good little personal touch that adds and differentiates you in the market. So those are my top tips of what it takes to meet a client in person face to face. I hope you found it useful. If you've got any other tips that you'd wish to share, please share in the link below and watch out for my next blog video, hopefully next week. Thank you.
