How To Close The Year Strong

Joshua Nelson tells agency owners to finish 2021 strong with three moves: review your year against your goals, treat December as your biggest client-acquisition month, and run a webinar before December 21 with a content push across YouTube, Facebook, and email.

A quick video. 2021 is rapidly coming to a close. As I shoot this video, it's December 2nd. The year has just flown by, right? And, you know, ideally it's been a great month and I'd love to hear some wins. Like, if 2021 so far has been a good year and there's been some things to celebrate, there's been some progress, would love to hear that here in the comments. What are some of the things as you look back over the year so far that you're excited about, that you've accomplished, that you feel really, really good about? Now, the year goes quick, right? And if you don't take time to take stock and to kind of reset and refocus, before you know it, it's going to be Christmas and it's going to be New Year's and the year will be over. And so I really wanted to come on with the call to close 2021 strong. And there's really 3 things I want to suggest you do right now. If you're watching this, give me a like, give me a yes, give me a comment just so I can get some engagement here. But if you're watching this, I want to ask you right now to stop what you're doing and do 3 things. First of all, I'd like you to review, reset, and refocus. Right? Review, reset, refocus, and you can really finish the year strong. So when it comes to review, there's some things that you should check, right? If you've been tracking along with us here and you're doing what we suggest, at the beginning of the year we set some goals and we set some targets for the year. Here's where we want to be, here's how many clients we want to have, here's how much recurring revenue we want to build up within the business. And then we broke that down by quarter, we broke it down by month. November just finished. You need to know, how did you do? Goals versus target. Did you hit the goals? Did you not hit the goals? Right? Ideally, yes, you did. Take a second. Awesome! Our goal was to land 6 new clients and grow the MRR by $12,000, and you know, get the base to $72,000 in monthly recurring revenue. You need to know that. If you don't make a practice at the end of every month stopping, reflecting, and reviewing, then your whole goal setting process falls apart. You need to have some accountability. So I want to really encourage you to review the goals versus the targets. If you hit it, great. Celebrate that. If you didn't, kind of do a gut check. Why was it? What happened? What did you miss? What prevented you from getting there? So just take a couple of minutes and hold yourself accountable to the goals that you set in November, to the goals that you've set to this point in the year, and, you know, kind of take stock on that. The second thing is I want to suggest that you reset, right? It's December 2nd. There's still a whole month left in the year. And I've seen this question come up a couple of times in, in the Facebook groups, which is, well, as digital marketing agencies, Does anybody think about hiring our services? Do people, you know, do you get clients in December? And I wanna encourage you, December should be the largest movement opportunity for you of the year. Right now, your prospects, your clients are looking at the year, they're looking at next year, they're thinking about, okay, what do I wanna do differently? What do I wanna accomplish in the new year? In your niche, there is a massive change happening. And there are people hiring new agencies, there are people shifting their budgets, there are people changing agencies, there are new people coming into the market. And if you're not on top of your game, if you're not focused going into December, you will miss the opportunity. Really, what you do in December will carry your momentum into January and the first quarter of 2022. And so I want you to reset your intention. Reset your intention that no, this isn't the time just to kind of chill through December, enjoy Christmas. I definitely want you to enjoy Christmas, that's important. But the opportunity, there's money to be made right now. And so you need to be more aggressive, you need to be more communicative, you need to be more out there front and center. And so what I'm going to encourage you guys all to do is come up with content that you can roll out in your industry in December that will position you strong going into the new year. And so I, I really like the idea of running some type of 2022 plan webinar in December as well as in January. If you're a member of 7 Figure Agents, you've got access to the complete swipe and deploy on this, the slides, the presentation, the promotional strategy. Any of you that don't run this Shame on you, right? Shame on you because your prospects want to build a plan. They want to position themselves for growth going into the new year, and if you're the one rolling out the content saying, "Hey, here's the plan. Here's what we're going to do. Let's map it out. Let's figure out what we need to do with the website, SEO, pay-per-click for your industry," you're missing a major opportunity. So what I would encourage you guys all to do is pick a date in December before the 21st because things start to get a little squirrely after the 21st. People go to Christmas, they go to New Year's. So before that, like in the next 2 to 3 weeks, promote this webinar. Run this webinar live. Load the replay on YouTube and syndicate it out. Guys, I gave you the swipe and deploy. I'm gonna put it for those of you that are members in the comments where you can grab it. I want all of you guys to run this. Um, do that. The other thing you can do is go live on a weekly basis taking the components of that training. So if the first thing is set goals, targets, and have a clear plan, do like a quick 5 to 10 minute video live in your YouTube channel, on your Facebook page, and send that out to your email list. Because not everybody's engaging with webinars right now. The other thing is, take, you know, then if the next module I tell you guys like how to set up your website to make sure it's built to convert, do a quick video about that. Like you can put out lots of really good content in December that is going to gain attention, that's going to schedule appointments for you, that's going to help you land new agency clients to close the year strong. So really, review, reset your focus, and really get focused on keeping the pedal to the metal through the month of December. So that's it for now, guys. I want us all to end the year strong. I'm excited to see a bunch of you next week in Miami. We're gonna have an amazing time really mapping out the year for 2022 and making sure we're set to crush it. Looking at new ideas to land clients, deliver results, retain, and scale. Let's end the year strong and set ourselves up for the best 2022 ever. I'll talk to you guys soon.
