How to get Started with a Mentor for your Agency

Agency owners seeking to scale from six to seven figures should find a mentor who has personally hit that target, built reusable systems, and proven they can help other agencies get there. Look for someone willing to map out 90-day and annual plans and hold you accountable to them.

We've all heard that one of the fastest ways to grow our business is to find a mentor, find a coach, find someone that, you know, that can help move you along the path and can kind of hold you accountable. In this video, I just want to talk about what to do as you start to select or start to try and find a mentor to help you grow and scale. The first thing is I think you want to be clear on what you're looking for, right? I really believe you want to find someone that's accomplished what you're looking to accomplish, somebody who's built the kind of business that you're looking to build. So if you're trying to build a digital marketing agency to 6, 7 figures and beyond, you want to find somebody that's been down that path, right? That has solved the problems that you're inevitably going to have to face and can help shortcut that process for you. I think you also want someone that's, you know, kind of created systems and procedures that you can swipe and deploy. That way you can really accelerate and kind of simplify that entire process. I think also one of the key things you want to be looking for in a mentor is someone that has also done it with others. Like, you don't want someone that just got to a certain level of success and they know how to do it for themselves but hasn't ever really helped someone else. You want, you want to find someone that's got a proven track record working with other agencies and a proven track record for helping them go to the next level. And then I think you really want to make sure you're gonna find someone that's willing to meet you where you're at, right? Really able to sit down with you, figure out where you're at in your business, what the raw materials are, help you map out a plan on kind of what the, what the next 90 days should look like, what the next 365 days should look like, and will commit to help hold you accountable, right? You can have the best plan in the world, the best mentor in the world, but if you don't have someone that's gonna kind of sit beside you month after month, quarter after quarter, and hold you accountable to actually get the things done, to get them implemented, um, you're still gonna struggle. So that's what I'd be looking for. That's kind of what we do here at 7 Figure Agency, really helping digital marketing agencies at that 6-figure level, um, that are looking to go to 7 figures and beyond. And so if that sounds interesting, you think you might be a good fit or we might be a good fit for you, post "mentor" in comments. That'll kind of trigger me and my team to reach out and schedule a time to talk and see if we'd be a good fit for each other. So hopefully that helps as you kind of start this process of looking for a mentor and kind of how to get started. Post in comments "mentor" if you think you'd be a good fit or if you'd like to chat about that more. If you have any follow-up questions, put that in comments as well. I'll talk to you soon.
