Joshua Nelson explains why six-figure agencies do the work themselves while seven-figure ones build systems. Early on he ranked websites for clients and loved the technical puzzle. As his agency scaled, he stopped doing the work and started building repeatable processes his team could run.

I don't personally miss doing any of the work. I learned how to do it with our first handful of clients. I learned how to build a website and set up the SEO and do the on-page optimization, and I enjoyed learning that skill. I kind of thought of it like a game. How do I set up this content so that this client can come up for this keyword and get this result? But I certainly don't miss doing it. I love having a team in place that can take that stuff, implement it, and run with it.
