As ad algorithms evolve, uploading customer lists for laser-focused targeting doesn't work like it used to. Instead, cast wider nets with geo-targeting and income filters. One plumbing company per market targeting Dallas homeowners earning over $125k generates better leads.
Chapters
With the algorithm constantly changing, a lot of the targeting that used to be effective, like laser targeting a list and trying to be very specific— I want these plumbing companies uploaded as a custom audience— isn't working as well as it did in the past. But what's really working well now is more open targeting. And with that same open targeting, you can be very specific with your geo. Like in our case, we only work with one plumbing company in each market. And so as we close out Orlando, Tampa, Miami, there's going to be other markets that are more preferential for us. And so you can definitely geo-target within in your agency and call out with your messaging the exact clients that you want to do business with. That works well for you as you look to attract clients for your agency. That also works really well, obviously, if you're doing these services for your clients. And we could say, hey, we want to just target homeowners in the Dallas metro area that have an income greater than $125,000. And you might be surprised, your client is gonna get much better quality lead flow if you target in that way. And so be creative and be aware of how the algorithm's changing so that you can generate better results for your agency as well as the clients that you serve.
