In this short motivational monologue, the speaker reflects on the passage of time and introduces the weekly "7 Days of Yes" challenge focused on building trust and authenticity in relationships. He emphasizes that authenticity thrives when people feel safe, trusted, and respected, and asks listeners to consider how they can foster these feelings in others. The core activity for the week is to practice being present during inevitable waiting moments—such as in traffic, in line, or while a child gets ready—by resisting the urge to reach for a smartphone and instead observing thoughts and the environment. He shares a personal anecdote about waiting in a crowded Chipotle line, putting his phone away, and using the time for mindful presence. The speaker encourages listeners to try this practice, send any inspirations his way, and promises to check in next week.

7 days of yes, 30 days of yep, 7 days of yes. Wow, how is everyone doing? Can you believe it? We enter our 5th month of the year, moving into May this week. Crazy. I'm a cliché. Every month I'm a cliché, but so crazy how quickly everything, how the year is going past us. So it's just clicking along. So how did the activity go this week as far as you trying to build more trust? in some of your relationships, right? It's kind of a big deal, or as people would say, kind of a big damn deal. All right, building trust. When you think about it, people are yearning to express and bring authenticity to their relationships, to work, to everything that they're a part of. But we only do that to the extent that we feel safe and trusted and respected. And so that even if that's relationship with your daughter, relationship with your spouse, relationship with your boss or a coworker, a teammate, How can you bring more authenticity, but how can you encourage more authenticity in the people around you? How can you make them feel safer? So how'd that go for you? If you have any inspiration, go ahead and send it my way. Your activity for this week, your 7 Days of Yes activity for this week, is all about waiting and being okay with the fact that you're waiting. Waiting in traffic, waiting in line, waiting For your child to get their shoes on, right? So what do we do right now, nowadays, when we're waiting? We've got 30 seconds of idle time. What do we do? We whip out our cell phone, our smartphone, and we check a text, we send an email, we go on Twitter, we go on Instagram. Instagram is kind of my Achilles heel with the smartphone, right? We kill every moment of idle time with a distraction, with a stimulus, with something to basically just Take up our thought space. What would happen if we just allowed ourselves to be still and be present and just notice what's going on in those waiting moments? Waiting in traffic, waiting— so this happened to me on Friday when I went to Chipotle for lunch by myself because I have no friends. That's not true. So I'm at Chipotle, huge rush out the door. So my impulse is to, oh, I can— right? So I pulled my phone out and I'm like, oh, take a picture of this, which I did. That's the picture. At the top of the post today. And then I put my phone away and I'm like, I'm just going to be present for the length of time that I'm in this line. So I was in line for like 15 minutes and just allowed myself to be present, be present with my thoughts. And it's such a healthy activity for us to do. And that is your activity for this week, is to resist the temptation to distract ourselves during those waiting moments and just Be present with ourselves, be present with the moment, be present with now. That's your activity for this week, your 7 Days of Yes. Have a wonderful week, everyone. I'll see you next week.
