In this vlog, the host of the "7 Days of Yes" series shares a recent improv performance in Jupiter, Florida, where a high‑school prom’s loud bass threatened to disrupt the show. He describes how he and his fellow performers centered themselves, raised their energy, and delivered a two‑hour, high‑energy improv set despite the distraction, using the experience as a lesson in handling adversity. He then reflects on the previous week’s challenge of "saying no," humorously noting his own lapse in shaving, and invites viewers to share their own "no" stories. The core activity for the current week is introduced: asking friends, family, or coworkers "What inspires you?" and probing why, encouraging both self‑reflection and deeper conversations. The video closes with gratitude to collaborators (Frank, Jesse, The Jove) and shout‑outs to creators Evan (The World Is Freaky Beautiful) and Brian Johnson of Entheos, ending with a motivational sign‑off to "live your yes."

7 Days of Yes. Hello everyone, how you doing? Monday, April 14th, mid-April craziness. No matter where you are out there in the country or the world, I hope spring is starting to show up a little bit. Today, well, it's Sunday as I'm shooting this, but gorgeous, gorgeous day. It's 80s, clearly sunny, right? Probably not the optimal shooting time of day, but you roll with it. I just got back from the other side of the state in Florida, in Jupiter. Frank, Jesse, and I, The Jove, we had an improv show last night, had a ton of fun. We hadn't performed with each other in a few months actually, so we had a wonderful, wonderful show last night. Had a funny thing that happened during the show. It really wasn't funny at the time, but the theater that we were performing in, it's a huge kind of like facility and theater, and there is a space above us, and there was a prom, high school prom going on above us. And so we had a group come out and open up for us before we went on to perform. And so Jesse and I went around to the back corner to watch them and support them as they opened for us. And so we're out there, so we're watching them, and all you can hear is bass coming through the ceiling, through— I mean, it was loud. And then we're feeling bad for them, and we're watching them perform, and they're trying to do Slow, thoughtful scenes. And it was just with that, it was just difficult. And so I went backstage. I had to get centered before we went out and get focused. And I had this moment where I'm sort of stretching and thinking about like, this is our atmosphere tonight, like loud, this is going to be rough. And I had the sense of like, this is not optimal performing situation. I was like, I don't want to do this right now. Ah, this is brutal. I know. I had this almost this little quick— it took about 5 seconds but like an internal sense of panic like, oh man, really? All right, let's gut it out. I really— I was like, wow, this is such a wonderful opportunity to handle sort of thoughts and to handle, all right, how am I going to show up to adversity? This is something that I love to do and just because the situation isn't optimal, are you really going to allow those outside distractions to— To throw you off your game. And so I got centered, got focused. The 3 of us came together. We kind of like, all right, this is the situation. We got low energy. We've got loud bass coming. What can we do? We just gotta crank it up. We gotta take our energy. We gotta take our volume up a notch. And we went out there and we did an hour and a half, close to 2-hour show. Phenomenal, phenomenal energy. Great improv. I say that modestly, but the 3 of us did fantastic. Fun, inventive, creative, high-energy improv. Had a blast. And just a great example, a great opportunity for me to go, all right, you know, when you kind of run into that moment of, oh, how are we going to do this? And just, you know, dealing with the reality of the situation. It is what it is. How am I going to respond to it? How am I going to adjust? And it was fantastic. So I wanted to share that with all of you guys. So how did last week's activity go? Saying no, right? What did you say no to? Clearly, It looks like I said no to shaving for the last few days. That's just lazy. I'll be shaving today. So if you had any great experiences about saying no for your bigger yes, send them my way. I would love to hear it. This week's activity is all about— what's it all about? It's all about what inspires you. Okay, so what inspires you? Have you sat down like, wow, what really inspires me and why? Why does that inspire you? It's one of the activities from 30 Days of Yes, but what I want you to do is As many times this week, a friend, a family member, someone at work, take a moment and go, hey, so what really inspires you? It might kind of freak them out for a second, but it's kind of a fun question. What inspires you? And then ask them why. Why does that inspire you? I think you're really going to learn a lot about someone by asking them that question. What inspires you? So your activity this week is to sit in that space for yourself, to answer that for yourself. And then to have conversations with others and talk to others. So that's it. That's your 7 Days of Yes for the week. Have a wonderful, wonderful time. Thanks to everyone for coming out to the Jove Show last night. Thanks to Evan, my man with This Is Freaky Beautiful, or The World— I'm sorry, The World Is Freaky Beautiful. Go check out The World Is Freaky Beautiful. Love Evan. Go check out Entheos, Brian Johnson. It's all good. Thank you. Have a wonderful, wonderful week everyone, and live your yes. Take care.
