In this brief motivational video, the speaker shares a story about a Chicago minister whose family was under death threats during the Obama election era. One night, after hearing a noise, the minister discovers his young daughter dancing joyfully in her dark bedroom, proclaiming she is "dancing in the dark." The anecdote serves as a metaphor: even amid fear, chaos, and uncertainty, one can find freedom and joy by "dancing in the darkness." The speaker invites listeners to apply this mindset throughout the week, framing it as the day's "Moment of Yes." The tone is conversational and uplifting, encouraging the audience to seek innocence, joy, and resilience in challenging circumstances.

Good morning, everyone. Here is your Moment of Yes for Monday, April 14th, I think it is. Um, back in St. Louis, it's feeling kind of springy, you know, 70-degree weather. Um, I'll take it, I'll take it. Last week was a busy week. Um, Austin and then Boston and then back home. I was listening to an interview that Hollister sent me. Um, can't think of the gentleman's name. He's a minister, I think a doctor of philosophy, but he was the minister in the church in Chicago where the Obamas attended before the election and all that, before Obama's election. And there was a lot of threats and there was a lot of— his family was under protection and it was a difficult time. A lot of threats coming to the home and he's got young kids and things like that. And he was describing One night, um, woke up to a loud noise in the house. And so his wife was like, hey, you need to go check that out. So he's going through the house, he's got a baseball bat, right? You know, there's been death threats and all this stuff, and he's, you know, kind of right in the middle of sort of like chaos, right? You know, it's like you're living under death threats and you hear a loud noise in your house and you, you go after it. And he goes, and I hear a noise in my daughter's room. And I open the door and there in the middle of the room is my daughter dancing and spinning at 2 o'clock in the morning. And he's like, sweetie, what are you doing? And she's like, Daddy, I'm dancing. I'm dancing in the dark. And he's like kind of upset and he tries to put her to bed and she's like, dance with me. And he caught himself and he's like, you know, he had all that testosterone, all that energy thinking that he was, you know, gonna find someone. And despite all the chaos going on around him and the fear and everything going on around him, there's his daughter, this innocence dancing in the darkness, right? Joy, innocent, completely untouched. And he's like, that's it. When you find yourself in the middle of the darkness, in the middle of— you got so much going on around you, can you find a way to dance in the darkness, right? That's finding freedom in the pain. That's finding joy In the unknown. And so I just love that idea, dancing in the darkness. So how do you need to dance in the darkness today or this week? That's your moment of yes for today. Have an awesome week, everyone.
