In this brief motivational segment, Speaker A emphasizes the importance of acting on commitments regardless of how one feels. Using Holland’s 3‑mile run in rainy weather and Miley’s new 10‑minute 3‑mile record as concrete examples, the speaker illustrates that routine and purpose should drive behavior, not momentary emotions. The narrative stresses that focusing on required actions—what must be done to stay true to one’s core priorities—leads to greater success, happiness, and fulfillment. The segment concludes with a brief personal update about staying in Michigan for two more days before traveling to St. Louis, signaling the speaker’s own adherence to a planned schedule.

Your moment of yes for today. Look at this guy. Yep, that's Holland finishing his 3-mile run today, even though it's crummy rainy weather, even though he didn't feel like getting up and doing it. But he gets up and he does it because that's his routine and that's what he does. It's not about how he feels. Whether he feels good, he runs. Whether he feels bad, he runs. I aspire to have that level of commitment because I give way too much power and credit to how I feel than when I want to do something. Um, but not this guy. How'd it go, bud?
It went swell.
Yeah? How was Miley's?
New record. 10 minutes and 3 miles.
So maybe you don't get a straight answer, but, um, the, uh, the point is made. Um, it's not about how you feel. It's about what are you required to do? What needs to be done? Right. When we focus on what needs to be done instead of how we feel, we're always taking steps forward, right? There's a lot of yes and in that. Yes, I feel crummy today, and I still need to do X and X and X. Yes, I feel great today, and I still need to, to do these tasks, these actions, these behaviors. And so it's not about being robotic, but it's about understanding the difference between my feelings And the actions that are required in order to stay true to what's most important to me. Because what's most important to us, it's not always going to be connected to feeling good, right? And so the more we are committed to doing what is most important regardless of how we feel, the more successful and happier and fulfilled we're going to be. Yeah, that's your rainy, gloomy, Moment of Yes for today. Uh, what is it? Wednesday, August 3rd or 4th? The 4th? The 3rd? Yeah, whatever. Uh, up in Michigan for 2 more days, then off to St. Louis. So, I'll see you guys on Friday.
