In this short motivational video recorded on December 11, the speaker delivers a “Moment of Yes” for Monday, December 12. While awaiting a friend’s final game in Gulf Shores, Alabama, he anticipates a long, fog‑filled, nighttime drive back to St. Louis. He uses the upcoming travel difficulties as a metaphor for everyday obstacles, urging listeners to shift from lamenting unmet expectations to accepting reality as it is. He highlights practical coping tactics—recognizing fatigue, planning rest stops, and staying adaptable to traffic, weather, or other disruptions. The core call‑to‑action asks viewers to identify a recurring frustration in their own lives, accept it, and respond intentionally rather than wishing it were different. The message is framed within the “Purpose on Purpose” series, aiming to set a reflective, proactive tone for the week ahead.

Good morning, everyone. Here is your Moment of Yes for Monday, December 12th. All right, full transparency, I'm recording this on Sunday the 11th. Shepherd and I are still down in Gulf Shores, Alabama. He has his last game at 2 o'clock this afternoon, and then we'll leave right after the game for our, you know, probably 12-hour drive back to St. Louis, which means we'll be getting in In the middle of the night. So, I wanted to make sure that I had a message for you all for Monday morning. And so, I'm sort of sharing this in anticipation, kind of understanding some of the difficulty of sort of the trip ahead. It's not the easiest trip. It's not the easiest drive. It's not really kind of 2-lane, 3-lane, 4-lane highway much of any of the drive. There's tons of fog down here right now in the morning and in the evening. And it's just not an easy drive. And knowing that I'm going to be driving in the middle of the night, not easy either. And so in thinking of this ahead of time, I think oftentimes we can look at situations for what they are instead of what they want— instead of what we want them to be. He could have played at 10 AM this morning, but instead they got stuck at 2. So instead of lamenting that, it's accepting that. And then also just thinking of the different challenges that might pop up along the way from, uh, from me being tired to we ran into traffic on the way down, sat still, you know, for 30 minutes. Um, uh, whether we run into any cold or ice or anything like that, just knowing that these things pop up. What's more important is how adaptive and how we handle them. And, uh, I'm, you know, more than, more than fine, uh, and prepared to pull over in a rest area and nap for a couple of hours if need be. But just finding peace and sort of embracing the situation again for what it is instead of what we would like it to be. And so as you start this week, you know, what is something that keeps popping up for you that you want it to be different instead of just accepting it for what it is and embracing it for what it is and then responding to it accordingly? From Purpose on Purpose. So that's your message to get you going this week. Have a great week. I'll see you guys on Wednesday.
