In this short motivational video, the speaker introduces the “Moment of Yes” segment for Wednesday, December 15th, and shares a 2014 blog post titled “Pruned.” Using the bonsai tree as a metaphor, the speaker reflects on how people often view themselves as the ones who prune their lives, deciding what stays and what goes. He reframes this perspective, suggesting that we are the bonsai—being pruned by external forces or the universe. The core message is to keep growing wherever direction is given, to trust the pruning process as a redirection of energy, and to avoid attachment to a fixed vision of one’s life. The speaker encourages listeners to be courageous, humble, and trusting, emphasizing that growth is continuous and that what feels like a purpose now will also be pruned in the future. The video ends with a positive sign‑off, wishing viewers an awesome Wednesday and promising a return on Friday.

Good morning, everyone. Here is your Moment of Yes for Wednesday, December 15th. Yeah, here we go. So I've been going back through some of my old writing, some of my blog posts, some of my dictations and things like that. And it's always interesting to go back and find old writing because you want to wonder, what was I thinking about then? What was going on? And then I'm like, wow, that was actually pretty good. So I found one. Actually, I found a few recently. I'm like, you know what? I think these are still hitting me today as much as they were when I wrote them. And so today's moment of yes is just a blog post that I'm going to read from 2014. Wow! Can't believe 2014 was that long ago. So this is from 2014. It's called Pruned. Pruned. Here we go. In my coaching lately, I have heard a lot of the same kinds of concerns from people. I don't know what my purpose is. What am I supposed to be doing? Oddly enough, it made me think of the bonsai tree. For most of my life, I have tricked myself into thinking that I am in charge of the pruning, that somehow I was given the pruning clippers, and that I am responsible for what stays, what goes, And what grows. And you know what? I think I got it wrong. Where I sit today lends me to think that I'm not going to be doing the pruning, but rather I am being pruned. I am the bonsai. I am the tree. My job is to grow and keep growing. But where? Wherever you are led to grow, grow in that direction. If you don't know where to go, listen for a direction and head that way. Even if you have no idea, listen to your heart, your gut, your inspiration, and go grow. Guess what? We're all going to get pruned. Even when you think you know exactly where you are supposed to be growing, you might get pruned. The point is, keep growing. Don't be attached to how you think your tree should look. Do you trust grace? Love? The universe? To prune you for what is best for the growth of the tree? Your life? The beautiful thing about being pruned is that it means we are being asked to divert our energy and resources elsewhere. It doesn't mean we were doing anything wrong. It just means that our growth is being called to a different focus for the time being. For the time being. Our growth in any one direction is never permanent. We are always getting pruned, yet we are always growing. So are you courageous, humble, and trusting enough to see yourself as the pruned and not the pruner? Instead of agonizing over questions of what am I supposed to do, just keep growing. Apparently, whatever you are doing right now is what you are supposed to do. But don't worry, That will get pruned too. Bonsai. That's your moment of yes for today, everyone. Have an awesome Wednesday. I'll see you guys on Friday.
