In this motivational monologue, the speaker recounts a day filled with contrasting experiences and reflections. He celebrates a historic soccer achievement—17 wins, the most in U.S. soccer history—before confronting chaotic holiday travel at LAX, including a delayed red‑eye flight, a subsequent connection delay, and a passenger experiencing a seizure. A Delta employee offers a calming perspective, emphasizing that it’s not the events themselves but how one responds to them—a principle the speaker ties to his "Gentle Art of Blessing" philosophy. After safely completing his journey, he prepares to deliver donations for the Holiday Hope for the Homeless initiative. Throughout, he weaves a "moment of yes" theme, encouraging acceptance, positive response to adversity, and self‑care.

But Saturday night we finished up. We had our last game. We won in the last minute to guarantee that we were The most wins in US soccer history, 17 wins this year. Woo! In the record books. Then we immediately, for those of us who were flying out that night, had to jump, go to the airport. Never got a police escort to an airport before. That was a first. Pretty awesome. Got to the airport, got through security. This is LAX. Crazy holiday travel. On the way to my terminal, my flight was supposed to be 10:20 PM red-eye into Fort Lauderdale. Got the alert on my phone. Your 10:20 flight has been delayed to 6 AM. Yeah, delayed to 6 AM. So rushing around. All right, what can I do? What can I do? Oh, I can take out a 12:15 flight, which gets me into Atlanta in the morning. Go Atlanta to West Palm Beach. Boom. Book that flight. Now it's delayed until 1:15. So Got to spend from 8:15 to 1:15 in the airport in LAX, jumped on that plane at 1:15 on the way to Atlanta, woken up at 2 o'clock in the morning. Couldn't really sleep on the plane anyway, but I was on an aisle seat and a gentleman is next to me on one knee and he starts having a seizure. And we're like, whoa. And then he comes out and he stands up and then lays down again and has a seizure. We get the flight attendants. They tend to him for probably 15 or 20 minutes. I— and so the gentle art of blessing, right? While all this is going on, I'm praying for this man. I'm praying for the flight. I'm praying for everybody on the flight. While I was in the airport and my flight got delayed, the woman— Who works for Delta. She's like, what's happening? I'm like, oh, my flight just got delayed till 6 o'clock tomorrow morning. She's like, all right, just go back to the terminal. She goes, people around, people getting so angry, so upset. She goes, she's getting upset over the things you can't control. And she goes, remember, it's not about the things that happen. She goes, it's about how you respond to them. That's what she told me, right? She just threw a moment of yes back at me. I love it. So on the plane, praying for the gentleman. They got him back to his seat. He got off the plane. Grateful that everything was fine there. Was able to make my connection in Atlanta, get to West Palm Beach, got home maybe just a few hours later than I was supposed to. And now it's— I don't know if you guys can see the car, all the bags that Trinity and I are delivering later today for the Holiday Hope for the Homeless. Nonstop. So there you have it, guys. Your moment of yes for today is, it's living that yes and. From canceled flights to helping those in need to helping those in need to helping yourself and just giving yourself a break today. I'm looking forward to giving myself a break today at some point. But that's your moment of yes for today, everyone. Have an awesome day. Love you guys. Peace.
