In this motivational address delivered on December 2, the speaker delivers a "Moment of Yes" focused on the themes of grace, poise, and compassion. He highlights how the U.S. soccer team and its players navigated a heightened Iran-related controversy both in a press conference and on the field. He praises Greg’s measured responses, Tyler’s humble reply to a reporter’s correction—"thank you for educating me"—and the team’s post‑match act of consoling Iranian players with genuine compassion. The speaker ties these actions to his broader mission of reshaping global perceptions of American soccer and America itself, urging the team to embody these values consistently, especially with an upcoming match against the Netherlands.

Good morning, everyone. Here is your moment of yes for Friday, December 2nd. Yes, here we go. Match day minus one. The Netherlands tomorrow morning. I know you'll be watching. Today's moment of yes is grace, poise, and compassion. I think the thing that has impressed me and made me the most proud the last few days was just how the team and players have dealt with the Iranian situation that got escalated outside of sort of our control. And then you go to the press conference with the way Greg responded to the questions, and then Tyler being put on the spot and being, you know, belittled and just being kind of baited into, right, saying— getting offended and saying something disrespectful, which he did not. In fact, he did the opposite, right? With humility and grace, when the reporter corrected him and chastised him for pronouncing the country's name wrong and then asked a very difficult question, Tyler's response was, thank you for educating me. And he said it with no sarcasm. Thank you for educating me. And then he answered the difficult question very, very poised. And then you flash forward to the game where it could have easily been such a situation of us versus them, Iran versus America, freedom versus tyranny, all this different stuff. And we could have made it personal. We had to get the guys emotionally ready for a battle. But after the game, right, we had players, US players going up and consoling Iranians with, with true love, with true compassion. And it was just a proud moment where, you know, our mission is to change the way the world views American soccer. My secret mission has always been to change the way the world views America through our soccer. And it was a really, really proud moment to see not only our guys performing at a high level, but being humans at a high level. And was just super inspiring to exude such grace, poise, and compassion. I think it was special and a great reminder to all of us. What if the next time someone comes at us and corrects us, our response is, thank you for educating me, right? All right, guys, that's it. That's your Moment of Yes for today. Happy Friday, big weekend. Go USA, cheer us on. Take care. Bye.
