In this short motivational monologue recorded on Friday, December 19, the speaker shares two main updates. First, they report on the progress of the "Holiday Hope for the Homeless" project, noting that nearly 200 care bags have been assembled and will be completed, stocked with gift cards, and delivered to The Lord's Place on Monday, marking the fourth year of the initiative. Second, they discuss coping with high‑stress, high‑anxiety situations, critiquing the common tendency to swing between two negative response archetypes—deep depression or aggressive (emotional/verbal) reactions. Drawing on a conversation with a friend, the speaker proposes exploring additional, positive archetypes such as a super‑patient, compassionate self or an energetic, joyous self. They encourage listeners to consciously choose these healthier responses during the holiday season’s heightened stress, ending with well‑wishes for the weekend.

Good morning, everyone. Here's your Moment of Yes for today, Friday, December 19th. I think so. Yeah, we are— or is it the 18th? We're a week away from Christmas. Do the math. All right. So we are neck deep in holiday for the homeless bags. And so having a lot of fun doing that. We're close to 200 bags. So we're having a blast putting those together. We're going to bag the rest this weekend, add gift cards, deliver them to the Lord's Place on Monday. and put a bow on year 4 of Holiday Hope for the Homeless. So excited about that. And your moment of yes for today is I was— Those are my keys. I was talking to a friend the other day who's been dealing with just some stuff, family stuff, and doing some coaching around that. And his response was when he has dealt with facing kind of this high anxiety, high stress situation, he tends to go 2 ways. He goes super depressed where he kind of goes into his own funk and shuts down, or he goes super aggressive. And I don't mean physically aggressive, but more emotionally aggressive or mentally aggressive or verbally aggressive in dealing with these individuals. And so those tend to be his 2 extremes. And so his fear is he doesn't know which way to bounce in response to these situations. So my idea or my suggestion was, is there a 3rd or 4th option besides either going super depressed or going super angry? So if we tap into these qualities that are present in all of us, what are some other options besides just negative archetypes that we fall into? And we can all relate. I fall into these negative archetype characters that I have. But we can switch out of that. But we can articulate— we need to articulate what do those different archetypes that we have look like? What does the super patient, compassionate archetype of you look like? What does the energetic, joyous archetype of you look like? We need to create and see these other possibilities that we know are in us, and we tend to see them at the best. But we can choose those archetypes. We can choose those responses when we find ourselves in high-stress situations instead of always reverting to only the negative ones that we know about. So that's your moment of yes for today. I know it's the holiday season, but I know stress can be high. Anxiety can be high. So let's be conscious of which slice of ourselves we are choosing to respond to that stress. See what shows up this weekend. Love you guys. Have an awesome weekend. I'll see you guys on Monday. Take care. Bye.
