In this short motivational video, the host greets listeners to the first Monday of 2022 and welcomes new members to the “Moment of Yes” Patreon series, noting the free $5 Yes plan and a free trial for January. He emphasizes the importance of starting with micro‑goals and building momentum rather than relying on unsustainable, large‑scale resolutions. By committing to tiny, easily achievable actions and gradually increasing them, lasting habits are formed that align with one’s deeper purpose. The speaker then guides the audience through a practical 60‑second present‑moment breathing exercise: close your eyes, focus on breath, observe thoughts and emotions without judgment, and then consciously choose how to move forward. He encourages listeners to repeat this practice throughout the week to cultivate awareness, intentionality, and sustained progress. The video concludes with a friendly sign‑off and a reminder to return for the next session on Wednesday.

Good morning, everyone. Here is your moment of yes for Monday, January 3rd, the first Monday of 2022. How many times am I going to screw up doing the moment of yes this year where I say 2021? We'll see. All right, so far I am, uh, I'm, I'm batting 1,000. I'm perfect for 2022. I almost screwed up as I said 2022. So here we are. First of all, I want to say hi to, uh, to any new Patreons there. Uh, all of January The Moment of Yes. The $5 Yes plan is free, including those of you who are returning members, so you should get credited in your account. Anyone new, January is a free trial month. So hello, Shannon, as well as anyone new joining the Moment of Yes here. Great to have you. And again, 3 times a week you're gonna get this mug right here, trying to share an idea or an insight. To get your day going, living that yes and. So, here we go, our first Monday of 2022. And similarly to the message that I sent everyone on New Year's Day, this idea of start small and build momentum, right? I'm a big proponent— excuse me— of micro goals, micro changes. Start small, build momentum, because momentum is the most important part. If you can commit to something that is so difficult to not finish, so simple, and we just keep slowly increasing that over time, that's how real change happens. Again, we're all used to resolutions and people are like, I'm going to work out for 2 hours every day and I'm going to cut out all sugar from my diet. Maybe it lasts a couple of days, maybe it lasts a couple of weeks, but we know it's not sustainable. But when you make those micro changes and you just keep tweaking them over time, what you're doing is that you're, you're creating habits in the process of those commitments. So that's what we want to do. We want to create habits that continue to optimize and connect us more deeply, authentically with our purpose in a way that is going to be long-term instead of short-term goals. That's what we're doing. All right, so How I am encouraging you to start today, Monday, the first Monday, is, is to take a moment. And I would encourage you guys to do this all week, is to take 60 seconds to be present. 60 seconds to be present in your body. Close your eyes, focus on breathing, whatever it is. In your car, even not while you're driving, but take 60 seconds, focus on your breathing, be present. And then notice, just notice your thoughts. Notice what's showing up. Notice how you feel. Notice those thoughts and emotions and don't try to reject them. Just feel them. Be aware of them, right? And then once you're aware of them, you can, you can choose what you want to do with it, right? It's not about invalidating those feelings, ignoring those feelings. We notice them. We can ask ourselves why, right? But we can be with them instead of, instead of judging them, right? So we're going to be present, we're going to notice the thoughts and the emotions, and then we're going to choose how we want to move forward, right? It's as simple as that. That is— and if we did that all day, we'd put ourselves in a good position. But that's what I'm encouraging you guys to do today, right? Take 60 seconds, be present. Notice those thoughts and emotions. Don't judge them. Be aware of them and then choose how you want to move forward. Be intentional. Be intentional about how you want to move forward. There you have it. That's simple but not easy. Simple but not easy. Awesome, everyone. Have a great first Monday of 2022. I'll see you guys on Wednesday. Take care.
