In this solo, coach‑style video, Travis Thomas opens with personal family reminders—a birthday tribute to his late father (born July 13) and a 30‑year wedding anniversary for his cousins Kim and Mark. He then reviews three recent coaching sessions that, despite involving clients from very different backgrounds, all revolved around the same core issue: the desire to control outcomes that are ultimately beyond one’s power. Thomas illustrates how this urge to control creates anxiety and pain, contrasting it with the concept of influence and the practice of surrendering the uncontrollable to a higher power (God, the divine, the mystery). He shares a personal anecdote about trying to juggle travel logistics and decides to “hand it over” to the divine, emphasizing that one can still care without clinging to control. The video concludes with a weekly challenge: identify any pressing issue that threatens your peace, consciously release the need to control it, and trust the unfolding outcome. The tone is conversational, supportive, and motivational, with a hopeful, compassionate sentiment throughout.

Here is your moment of yes for Monday, July 13th. Hey, why was 13 my dad's favorite number and also subsequently passed down to all of us in the family? Because his birthday was July 13th. So happy birthday to my dad, first birthday since he has passed. Also happy anniversary to Kim and Mark, my cousins celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary today. Here we go, your moment of yes for today. So, 3 kind of big coaching calls that I had this week, 3 different people, 3 very different walks of life, yet it's the crux of the issue or issues kind of kept coming back to one central idea, and I don't think it'll be a shock to you, and that idea is, what can I control? Right. In each of these cases, You know, losing someone, a job that is extremely, extremely stressful, and another person, again, another personal issue with someone very close, and the stress and the anxiety and everything associated on an emotional side of things for all of these people kept coming back to The, the need or the want or the desire to control the person, the situation, or the outcome, which we all know is a source of great pain. Control, trying to control something when we, when we don't have control. Again, we have influence. And so I've been thinking about that myself, uh, with just even little things, very inconsequential things, looking at August, and I feel like I'm trying to Solve a Tetris situation of travel and and still meeting personal needs and family needs and client needs and all that, and trying where can I find flights and where can I in and out of and da da da da. And just I had to like close my computer yesterday and just walk away and go all right, right? Who am I going to give it to? It's a great question. Who am I going to give it to? And I'm just like I'm just going to give it to God. Give it to the divine, give it to the creator, give it to the unknown, give it to the mystery, give it to the great intelligence, and walk away and just give it some divine time that Travis doesn't have to figure out because Travis doesn't control it. So with each of us, as we head into a new week, whatever pressing issue— what is a pressing issue? Something that is pressing, that is pressing against our peace nerves. A pressing issue that we're looking for a solution, wondering, waiting, fearful of, oppressing, anything that's pressing in our thought, our consciousness right now. Can we surrender and let go? Give up control. Don't give up caring. Give up control. Give it to the divine and see what unfolds. There you have it. That's your moment of yes for today. Have an awesome week, everyone. Thank you.
