In this short motivational monologue recorded on a lake in Northern Michigan, the speaker uses the image of waves repeatedly smoothing sand on a shore as a metaphor for each moment in life. He explains that every new wave represents a fresh, clean slate, erasing the impact of the previous good or bad experiences. This continual renewal means that regardless of yesterday’s outcomes, today offers a new opportunity to choose a positive response. The speaker invites listeners to embrace this "moment of yes" by deciding how to act in the present, encouraging them to have a great day and week.

Hey, good morning everyone. Here is your moment of yes for Tuesday, July 22nd. Still up here in Northern Michigan. And, um, I was sitting out, uh, we're on the lake up here. I was sitting on the, uh, the, uh, the lake the other night and just kind of looking, actually looking back at the shore and the beach part of the shore and, and noticing how it's not like, it's not like it's the ocean or whatever, but the same would apply at the ocean. That sort of the kind of waves would sort of lap up to the shore where the sand is, and then it would just kind of completely smooth over the sand, and then it would lap back, and then the next wave would come in and lap up and smooth out the sand. And I just thought the metaphor of that is this really, really beautiful metaphor of every lap, every wave just kind of felt like we can say that's every day of our life, every year of our life. We can say that's every moment of our life. And every moment being, no matter what we were just thinking, no matter what we were just doing, or no matter what we just did, right? We're immediately hit, whether it's a new day or a new moment or our next thought or our next action, right? We— it's almost like a complete clean slate. It's a clean slate over and over and over again. Every new wave. It just cleans, it just smooths out. We might've had a bad moment, boom, the next moment, just clean slate. What do you do now? We might've had a bad day, boom, clean slate. What's today going to be like? And it's just over and over and over. And it works with the good also. Wow, I just had a really good day. Boom, clean slate. What am I going to do now? And so the good or bad, who knows? The opportunity is always the next moment. It's always the next response. No matter how bad things have been, we always get a clean slate with today. And if I had a great day yesterday, I get a clean slate with today. So what are you going to do with your day? That's your moment of yes for today. Have a great day. Have a great week, everyone.
