In this brief motivational video, the speaker shares a personal update—relocating from Missouri to split time between Michigan and Florida—and recounts a recent family gathering in Northern Michigan where, for the first time in decades, the weekend was largely free of trauma or conflict. He attributes this outcome to a conscious intention set by several family members to have a harmonious, event‑free experience. Using this anecdote, he emphasizes the broader principle that setting clear intentions and expectations can shape behavior and outcomes, even when external events are uncontrollable. He closes by urging listeners to set their own intentions for the upcoming week, framing this as their personal “Moment of Yes.”

Hey everybody, here is your Moment of Yes for Monday, July 6th. Hope everyone had a good 250th holiday weekend. Hope that meant something to you. I got a chance to do something. We are no longer Missouri residents. We're now back up to Michigan, Florida as home, but Michigan, you know, through the summer, early fall months. There you have it. It's a new day. All right, a moment of yes for today. So, um, just this last— just this morning, the last cars kind of pulled, pulled out from Northern Michigan where for about 4 days we had, you know, 30-plus family members, you know, living in tight quarters, you know, 2 small houses. Um, And this has sort of been the annual tradition, you know, for our whole lives. As the family has grown, the tradition continues. We all sort of genuinely like being around one another. Doesn't mean there's not, you know, still stuff, but it's a testament to how we all appreciate one another. And we were sort of, a few of us were laughing before the holiday weekend that if you go back over the 30-plus years, There's been a lot of traumatic things that have happened during the time together with the crew up here on those weekends. And some of them you can laugh at now, some of them not so much. But we just kind of thought about the idea that it's not uncommon for traumatic things to happen during that time. And yet we all sort of continue to come up here. And so coming into this holiday weekend— hi Hollister! Hollister making a rare appearance on The Moment of Yes. We were laughing at how it would be great to have a weekend with kind of non-event, like nothing traumatic, nothing, no big deal. And I'm happy to say That as the last cards pulled out this morning, it was a super harmonious, event-free, trauma-free weekend, which then goes back to how there was a group of us that was actually thinking about that consciously and intentionally and wanting it to be sort of, you know, an event-free, trauma-free weekend. And we sort of— there was an intent going into this weekend. And so I know it was on top of my mind. It was on top of a few people's minds. And all of that to say, the power of setting intentions, the power of having expectations and sort of driving—you can't control what happens—but driving intention and actions and behaviors at desired outcomes. And so we got through it. One of the rare, rare. holiday weekends up here that was actually pretty event-free, trauma-free. So as you head into this week, your, your moment of yes is all about setting an intention for yourself. You know, how do you want the week to go? How do you want the next few weeks to go? And then driving our behaviors in that direction. So there you have it. That's your moment of yes for today. Happy 4th of July. Happy 250th, everyone.
