In this short motivational monologue, the speaker greets the audience, wishes a belated birthday to a person named Hollister, and shares a recent encounter with a friend who suffered a massive stroke six and a half weeks earlier. The friend, a deeply spiritual individual, described how, during his recovery, he became acutely aware of the "energy" of people around him—an experience the speaker links to Jill Bolte Taylor’s TED Talk and book My Stroke of Insight, where she similarly reports sensing others’ energy after her own stroke. The speaker interprets these anecdotes as evidence that when the ego and language are stripped away, what remains is pure presence, love, and true intention. He argues that people constantly feel the energy and intent behind our words, often more than the words themselves, and urges listeners to align their heart‑centered intentions with the energy they project, ensuring authenticity in all interactions. The talk concludes with an encouragement to start the week with clear, authentic intent.

Good morning, everyone. Here is your Moment of Yes for Monday, June 15th. Happy belated birthday to Hollister. She is at camp. I'll see her next week, but happy birthday to her. All right, your Moment of Yes for today. I was just in Florida last week, had breakfast with a friend, and hadn't seen him in, you know, about 7, 8 weeks. And when I finally got a chance to see how he was doing, He's like, well, I had a stroke 6 and a half weeks ago. I'm like, what? Like, I'm sitting with him at breakfast, would have never known anything, the fact that he had a massive stroke 6 and a half weeks previous. So as he told me about the experience and how it felt and what was going on and how he processed it, but what was most interesting was his recovery, right? This is a guy that is deeply spiritual. I wouldn't say religious, but deeply, deeply spiritual. Has lots of spiritual practices, goes through life very spiritually, very intentionally. And he was talking about like, you know, during the difficult moments in those couple of weeks where he couldn't communicate clearly really well, he's like, the thing that I could feel was energy. I could feel the energy of people in the room. You know, when he had his brother and then his wife and he was like, I could feel their energy. If you go back and watch Jill Bolte Taylor, her TED Talk, one of the first viral TED Talks, her book is called My Stroke of Insight. She shares a similar idea when she went through her massive stroke. She goes, the ego had cut away everything as far as knowing language and really being able to see clear pictures, but what you always felt was energy. energy of the person that came into the room. Another friend of mine from years ago, same situation. He goes, you felt people's energy. We tend to think of, well, what is it? It's the stripping away of the ego, which in my opinion is you're stripping away a limitation of how we view the world, which is just based very superficially. You strip away that superficiality and what is left? What is left is Just, it's the energy, it's presence, it's love, it's true intention. And so that's what people feel as we go through our day. They feel our energy. They might see us and hear our words. Our words might be saying one thing, but our energy might be saying another. What is it that they actually feel? What's the impact that we have on them? They feel our true intent. And our energy. And so that's just a great reminder as we start our week, as we go through our days with the people that we love, with the strangers and everything. It really doesn't matter what we're doing on the surface. I mean, it does. What we're doing on the surface or what we're saying. What's most important is what's in our heart. What's the intent that we're putting out there? Because the energy is what people are feeling. They might not be able to put their finger on it. We might not be able to put our finger on it. But the energy is what they're feeling. So let's be really clear about what's going on under the surface and make sure people are feeling the right thing, the thing that we want them to feel, our true purpose, our authenticity. All right, that's your moment of yes for today. Have an awesome rest of the week, everyone.
