In this motivational monologue, the speaker addresses athletes, coaches, and a broader audience, highlighting the intense physical and emotional fatigue experienced by competitive players after a grueling season intensified by pandemic-related travel and schedule demands. Citing a New York Times article on the increased work hours during the pandemic, he stresses the universal need for intentional rest. He urges listeners to unplug, relax, and recharge over the weekend, using the airplane oxygen‑mask analogy to illustrate that self‑care is prerequisite to helping others. The message concludes with encouragement to return refreshed and ready for success.

Good morning, everyone. Here's your moment of yes for Saturday, June 5th. Yes, Saturday, because this week I got on a Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday schedule. Back to Monday. Actually, Monday is a travel day. We'll see. Could be Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday next week. All right, here is your moment of yes for today. So if you're like Frank Licari out there, uh, you work around the clock, nonstop, nonstop. If you're like my wife, you are juggling 20 1,000 different things, and you seem to be working nonstop. When I'm in camp, that's when my life seems to be at that level of craziness. And as I've been working with players and talking to players, and it's amazing, these guys come into this camp, and to the outside world, people are like, oh hey, they're in this tournament and they're playing for a trophy, and you know how great. And these guys are gassed. They are spent emotionally. Physically. Physically after a long season. Some of them have been playing, you know, 3 games a week, different parts of Europe, COVID restrictions, right? These guys, you know, when this camp is done, they're on vacation, a very, very, very short vacation. And so our care for them and how we have tried to take care of them, motivate them and inspire them, and at the same time be understanding of just how taxed they are. And so we've been just appreciating them and trying to give them as much rest as possible. Rest. Just reading an article in the New York Times yesterday about the importance of rest, how all of us during the pandemic have actually worked more hours than we would have had we been going into an office. We all need rest. And we need to build that rest in, be intentional with that rest. And so this message Being Saturday is rest, relax, unplug, don't do any work, put off or put aside anything that is emotionally taking up space in your head, and relax, recharge. Like Deepak says, be a human being, not human doing. We are human beings, not human doings. And so you're probably going, I got too much to do. It's okay. It'll be there for you. It'll be waiting for you on Monday. But today, tomorrow, relax, unwind, unplug, right? Just like the oxygen mask on the airplane. What do you need to do? You put yours on first before you can help anybody else. You are of no use to anybody if you are out of oxygen. So this is my message to you today, because I love you and I care about you, to unwind, relax, Recharge, rest, get your sleep, come back Monday charged and ready to go, and hopefully with a trophy. Have a great weekend, everybody.
