In this short pre‑game video, the speaker delivers a motivational "Moment of Yes" to his teammates the night before a match at Azteca Stadium on March 25th. He acknowledges the challenging conditions—a raucous crowd, a poor playing surface, and low expectations of winning—but emphasizes the intent to compete aggressively and aim for three points. The core of the message uses a wave‑versus‑ripple metaphor to illustrate how players can manage their emotions and reactions to adversity: they can either ride the wave, amplifying fear, regret, or anger, or let the wave pass and become a subtle ripple, preserving calm and focus. He asks each player to consider which wave they are riding and encourages turning negative emotions into ripples for greater peace and performance. The video is filmed the night before travel, intended to be posted in the morning as a rallying call.

Good morning, everyone. Here is your Moment of Yes for Friday, March 25th. I'm actually filming this Thursday night before we head off to the game in the stadium because I think we're traveling out early tomorrow morning. So I wanted to have this done and ready to go so I can post it in the morning. So here we go. Big game, Azteca Stadium. It's going to be raucous tonight. We're not expected to win, but it doesn't mean that we're, we're, uh, we're not going in there with the intent to, to win and grab 3 points. Hopefully a point, but 3 would be amazing. Uh, so, uh, the team message, you know, to the guys is we know that it's going to be a battle. We know it's going to be a match where it's going to be ugly. The field is not great. From training yesterday, we noticed. It's not great. going to be a real pretty game. So it's going to be about competing physicality. And so the idea of weathering the storm, of we know there's going to be these peaks, these valleys, these waves where you're kind of under it, right? And so what we want to do is we want to turn those waves into ripples, right? Instead of having these big dipping waves, we want to have those be As quick and subtle ripples as possible. And the way that we're able to do that is our response. Just like each of us, how we respond to life's challenges and adversity. We either jump on the wave and ride the wave, and it kind of has all the power, or we turn the wave into a ripple depending on whether we choose to ride it or not. And when we subdue That temptation to ride the emotion or to ride the fear or to ride, you know, the regret, right? That makes the wave bigger. When we kind of let it go and let it pass through, it diminishes into a ripple. So what wave are you riding today that you can let diminish and turn into a ripple? If you want to surf it, surf's up. But if you want a little more peace, a little more calm, Let's turn it into a ripple. All right, that's your moment of yes for today. Man, as you're watching this, I wonder what happened last night. I'll talk to you soon. Have a great day.
