In this brief spoken segment, the host delivers a “moment of yes” for May 26, using the recent personal upheavals in his own family as a springboard to discuss the broader nature of life as a series of transitions. He recounts moving out of a St. Louis apartment, his children’s graduations, camps, and the shift of a teen into college, noting how each change brings mixed emotions. Drawing on a (mis‑attributed) Eckhart Tolle idea, he frames transitions as inevitable and emphasizes three take‑aways: (A) life is fundamentally about continual transitions; (B) give yourself grace in navigating them; and (C) recognize that others handle change differently, extending patience and support. The tone is conversational and reflective, aiming to encourage listeners to view change as both painful and beautiful, and to foster empathy within their communities.

Good morning, everyone. Here's your moment of yes for Tuesday, May 26th. I gave you guys the day off yesterday for Memorial Day. I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend. Up in northern Michigan right now for a few days, and yeah, it's it's it's been a whirlwind the last week or so between travel and then a ton of graduation activities last week. And saying goodbye to the boys as they head off to camp. And then we're having to start to pack up our apartment in St. Louis and saying goodbye to people at graduation. And so this is kind of one of those type times of the year, as well as sort of like seasons of life, which feels very sort of transition-heavy. You know, for us, we're moving out of our apartment. Transitioning to 2 different spots. Um, uh, the Shepherd's out of school, he's transitioning into college, and us seeing him a whole lot less. And then we're moving, we'll be seeing our other kids a whole lot less. And we're— it's just all this stuff, and everyone deals with it differently, and there's different feelings, and there's different emotions, and all of them are fine. Um, but it's just a great reminder Just on that idea, I can't remember if it was Eckhart Tolle or who, but just talking about the idea that life really is just an endless series of transitions, right? Transitioning from different phases of life, from different— from work with different phases of parenting, different phases of marriage, different phases of everything. And transitions can be really, really difficult. And so Being conscious of how you handle transitions compared to how other people handle transitions, to have a little grace, a little patience. And so like kind of your moment of yes today is A, life is transitions. B, you know, give yourself some grace in recognizing what you need to handle transitions, how you like to handle them. And C, also just recognizing that other people handle those differently and to be conscious of that and to appreciate that because your way is your way, their way is their way. And so how can we just support one another, you know, especially during these, you know, during those moments? So yeah, I'm definitely not as externally emotive as others are, but definitely I have my feelings as well. And Hollister is different. The kids are different. And so just having grace and patience and recognizing that transitions aren't a bad thing. They're just life and they can be painful and beautiful at the same time, as most things are. So there you have it. That's your moment of yes for today. Have an awesome week, everyone.
