Good morning, everyone. Here is your moment of yes for Wednesday, May 4th. Shrinkila parvula, the shrinkila parvula plant. They have discovered a plant in different parts of the world where it's more arid or salty, meaning the soil is poor. It's not great for, uh, for plants. And the shrinkila parvula plant that they've discovered that actually in these diverse areas These plants thrive even though there's fewer water, fewer nutrients, and poorer soil. Yes. So these plants actually thrive in these areas. They call them basically diversity plants. And so what they've discovered is that in these different areas, the plant releases a chemical throughout the plant that has the opposite effect. Usually when a plant is in a more arid or salty region, It releases fewer chemicals to basically allow it to survive in difficult situations. This is the opposite. This one thrives. The chemical that it releases actually allows it to grow and to grow more lush and to grow larger. So scientists are studying this plant to figure out what they can do to take it to more difficult parts of the world where it's more arid, where it's more salty, and find a way To grow these plants there.
