In this brief motivational monologue, the speaker greets listeners on Veterans Day and reflects on recent personal challenges, including a hectic election day, a trip to San Diego for a conference, and work with sports teams. He emphasizes that setbacks can be catalysts for action, especially when focused on working with people. The core message is a call to consciously choose how to lead— with love, empathy, and purpose, or with fear, frustration, and apathy— in every interaction. The speaker frames this choice as today’s “Moment of Yes,” encouraging listeners to connect positively with those in front of them and make an impact.

Good morning, everyone. Here is your Moment of Yes for Monday, November 11th. Happy Veterans Day here in the US. That's Mako making a lot of noise eating behind me. So yeah, it's been almost a week actually since the last Moment of Yes. I think I sent one out on Election Day, and then it was a tough day or so after that, and then I had to head out to San Diego for about 3 or 4 days and just got back last night. So we're back. And yeah, like, you know, the good thing about sort of when things don't go your way is having to immediately jump back into work. I had to work with a few sports teams last week and then head out to San Diego for a conference and speak at a conference. And so the opportunity when we're upset and we just don't stop and wallow And sulk and go insular. And we either force ourselves or we're forced to basically get to work. And when I say get to work, it's like, um, my work is working with people. And so whenever I'm working with people, I feel inspired, I feel invigorated because I'm working with people. And you see the goodness as a result, and you make the connections as a result. And whatever is going on Outside of my control— thanks, Mako— whatever is going on outside of my control— He's loud. It kind of— again, we turn the volume down because we're so focused on making an impact with what we're doing in front of us. And so when I think about, regardless of how you felt about the election, whenever we're upset about what's going on, the opportunity is, can I connect with the thing or person in front of me and how am I going to show up? How am I going to impact it? Am I going to lead with love or lead with fear? Lead with love or lead with frustration, discouragement, apathy? So that is where the choice is always ours. The choice is yours. So it's Monday. How are you going to lead? How are you going to connect? You're going to connect with love or you're going to connect with something else that doesn't resonate with your purpose. That's your moment of yes for today. Have an awesome day, everybody.
