Warren Buffett said integrity matters more than intelligence or energy in leaders, or the other two become dangerous. The speaker commits to personal integrity this week: doing what he says, showing up authentically, and building honest relationships. He mentions a service trip to San Diego and recommends his friend John O'Leary's new film Soul on Fire.

Good morning everyone, here is your Moment of Yes for Monday, October 13th. Yeah, mid-October already. So, I was reading a quote from Warren Buffett. Warren Buffett said, the 3 most important qualities in a leader: intelligence, energy, and integrity. He said, but if they don't have the last one, the other 2 will kill you. Energy and intelligence are the first 2, if you don't have the last one, Integrity, the other 2 will kill you. And so I've just— I've been thinking about that in regards to just what feels to be the stirring, the crumbling of sort of kind of what is going on in our society. When I look at the structures that are falling down, the people that are being exposed, It's that lack of integrity. And it's that people saying things, but not— but being dishonest, saying things. But when there is integrity, where there's not a genuine principle behind the words, that can only last for so long between all the people that are part of that start to splinter off. And so what I see is this great splintering that that is happening right now. And it's because of a lack of integrity. And so when it comes to us, when it comes to me, I'm like, I mean, at the end of the day, I just have to, I have to do what I say I'm gonna do. I have to be the person that I say I'm gonna have to be. And the relationships and the work and the things that I create and form and bond with, if it's based on that foundation of integrity and honesty, That's where real strength, stability, and trust is. And so as I head off to San Diego this week, actually just one day, I'm going to be working with a group of people and then we're going to be serving an organization. My only job is to show up authentically, on purpose, with integrity. And when we do that and we create relationships built on that, that's what actually— that's what stability feels like. Even though everything outside of us can feel unstable. Stability is creating genuine, strong relationships built on integrity. Whose integrity? Your integrity first and then the integrity of others around you. So there's that. So, what's that look like for you this week? And then I need to give a shout out to my good friend John O'Leary. His movie came out this weekend, Soul on Fire. About his life story. Phenomenal life story. If you get a chance to go support Soul on Fire with John O'Leary, make sure to check it out. And that's your moment of yes for today. Have an awesome day, awesome week, everyone. Thank you.
