A Moment of YES: October 17th

A motivational message for October 17th using a cold St. Louis morning as a metaphor. The speaker argues that the present moment is exactly what you need and can handle, and that yesterday's hard things become today's easy wins. Each day is faced one now at a time.

Good morning, everyone. Here's your moment of yes for Monday, October 17th. Shout out to Jesse and Frank for doing an awesome Jove Show this Saturday night. I wish I could have been there. Also shout out to Matt Miller, my man, for meeting me for breakfast this morning. It's St. Louis, getting a little chillier. I think maybe, I don't know, 39. Again, not horrible, but you know, an adjustment for the Florida family. So Hollister and I took Mako out this morning to walk him, and it was still like 39, and, you know, she was cold and he was cold. And I joked, hey, the good thing is it's not going to get any colder than this, right? And she kind of gave me the stare and we laughed. And then I said, hey, but like, really, it's not. Like, it's never going to get any colder than this. She goes, are you trying to like come up with some philosophical point? For a moment of yes, she's like it's not working. I'm like oh that's a challenge. So here's your moment of yes, Hallister. It's never going to get any colder than this. That's that's the reality, right? What is the this? The this is right now. So when when we live in the moment, when we live from yes and to yes and to yes and now now now whatever we are experiencing right now. There's never going to be more of it or less of it. It's never going to be hotter or colder because whenever we move on to the next now, that is the only thing that counts. So will it get colder than 39 in St. Louis? Probably. But in that moment, right now, it's— right now it's never going to be colder. Right now it's never going to be hotter because right now is exactly what it needs to be and we can handle it. We have everything that we need. There's a Marine's quote. What is it? I think it's kind of one of their mantras is, yeah, your easiest day was yesterday, right? Like, you know, however difficult yesterday was, that's easy compared to we're ready for the challenge today. And then tomorrow, your easiest day was yesterday because we're ready for the challenge today. So will it ever get any colder? Right now, it'll never be colder than it is right now. And it'll never be warmer than it is right now. Because once we're in that now, that's the next now. That is the only now that matters. That is our new reality. So we're just handling life one now at a time. That's your moment of yes for today. Hollister, did I succeed? Does that work? Or is it just a bunch of BS? Have an awesome day, everybody.
