In this short motivational video recorded on Friday, October 18th, the speaker shares a personal experience of feeling ill before delivering a keynote to 900 people in Phoenix. Initially worried about his health and performance, a friend’s advice reframed the situation as an opportunity to be a light and bless others. By shifting his focus from self‑concern to serving the audience, he felt energized, delivered the presentation confidently, and recovered more quickly. He closes by encouraging viewers to create their own "moment of yes" over the weekend—shifting attention away from themselves to help someone else have a great day.

Good morning, everyone. Here is your moment of yes for Friday, October 18th. It is Friday. I'm still a little groggy, feeling a little groggy, a little congested, but grateful, super grateful. Back, got back from Phoenix Wednesday night, and I think my message earlier this week was that I wasn't feeling great, and I had to give a Uh, a keynote on Tuesday morning, early, uh, big room, 900 people. And Monday I felt like really lousy. And so I was just a little concerned about, um, being able to deliver and perform and do a good job. And so I was, I was talking to a friend, working with a friend, and, uh, she was giving me some prayerful support and prayerful ideas for the next day. Um, And what she said that really kind of shifted my mindset was that this is an opportunity for you to be a light for others, to bless others. And I think up to that point, I was so concerned about being able to do it and being able to, you know, be adequate and perform that my focus was still on me. And when she shifted that focus to This is an opportunity to help others, to give to others, to bless others. I was like, boom, that's it. And so for the rest of the day, I was just focused on that. I was like, of course I'm gonna feel well enough because it's not about me, it's about helping others. And I woke up the next morning early enough to get a good shower and I had great energy, you know, taking cough drops and, you know, blowing my nose. And keeping a safe distance from everybody. But then when it came time for the presentation, I just felt great. It was, you know, I felt great. I actually have a video of it. I'm like, oh, I don't look sick in that video. So, I was just super grateful. And again, the big shift in that was when I shifted from how I was feeling to it not being about me, but what the opportunity was there to help and to bless others. And lo and behold, you know, the energy and the health was there. So, just wanted to put a bookend on the week. And as we move into the weekend, I'm not quite 100% yet, almost there. But what can you do today as your moment of yes to shift your perspective maybe a little bit more off of yourself and onto someone else? Help them make their day an awesome day. That's it. Have a great weekend, everyone.
